I Am Your King: The Series (2017)

Une bonne petite série qui cache bien son "jeu"

Je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose et en réalité cette mini série est bien surprenante, le jeu du roi n'est pas à conseiller aux amis qui sont déjà en couple ou s'ils n'ont pas une ouverture d'esprit suffisante au risque de voir voler en éclat leur amitié.

Comme on peut le voir au fil des épisodes, le jeu les oblige à révéler leurs secrets et il y en a un paquet ! En même temps, c'est quand même une sacré coïncidence que sur le groupe d'amis aucun ne soit hétéro (ou alors il y a une sacré concentration homosexuelle dans leur école ^^).

On a ici une série avec des moments assez chauds qui émoustilleront les plus coquinous d'entre nous à la différence de beaucoup de séries qui n'osent pas montrer ne serait-ce qu'un bisou sur les lèvres.

Au passage, je décerne une mention spéciale au personnage de Alin, la petite-amie de Matt, que j'ai trouvé particulièrement manipulatrice et que j'ai profondément détesté.

La réalisation, sous ses dehors gentillets et bon enfant, prends un tournant particulièrement coquins au vu de nombre de bisous, même si certains me restent rédhibitoires

J'aurai apprécié de voir un épilogue tout de même, car là, on reste sur sa faim sachant que la saison 2 ne raconte pas la suite de la série même si elle y est liée.

En résumé, une mini série bien sympathique que je vous conseille, ça se regarde vite et ce n'est pas (trop) prise de tête.

One of the WORST series I've seen

I had over 60 series in my plan-to-watch list, and decided to give this a try because there's Mark Siwat, Best Vittawin, and Kris Krit from Love By Chance series in it. I never expected it will be this bad at all. The first few episodes were confusing. I'm only giving this a 7 because of Mark Siwat, Best Vittawin, and Kris Krit is in the series. Without them, I'd probably give it only a 4. It's just unbelievable for the series to end up having a Pound and New as a couple instead of New and August. That's like encouraging people to cheat on others. The story is just messed up! This is literally the 1st series I'm giving a 7/10.

Saudades

Um drama lindo e leve, foi um dos últimos da Tailândia com foco exclusivo na escola, depois de "Love sick" e " Make it right" antes de adotarem as universidades.
Uma história simples, um grupo de amigos adolescentes, entre eles um casal que namorava escondido por medo da reação dos demais, e sendo que um dos namorados ama secretamente outro amigo (e é correspondido), e o outro namorado também tem um admirador dentro do grupo.
Um roteiro bacana, com uma mãe super fofa, amigos que brigaram, mas deixaram a amizade prevalecer no final, e o bônus de ver o primeiro papel do Newyear em séries. O plot da traição eu passei o pano pq eles ficaram lindos juntos.
O fato de que tudo começa por causa do jogo, também é juvenil, o que me incomodou foi o fato deles consumirem grande quantidade de álcool, mas quem nunca? E também o fato de pintarem na menina a vilã.
Então, para mim é um bom roteiro, uma ótima escolha de atores, que mesmo sendo jovens e em seus primeiros papéis, foram razoavelmente bem. Não existem muitas locações, mas tem uma boa fotografia. Acho que a trilha sonora poderia ser melhor, algo que combinasse mais com a adolescência, mas não tem como não recomendar essa série. São apenas 5 eps curtinhos que eu já revi 4 vezes e ainda não cansei de ver. O único problema grave dessa série é ela não ter uma segunda temporada mostrando os meninos mais maduros.

What I had Expected ...

So from the many trailers I saw on this drama, I was expecting something a whole lot different. I watched it because I wanted to watch something light after so many sad bl series I've watched.

The show is entertaining, but the story is simple and stereotypical.
- The acting is really good in my opinion (even though the characters aren't the most complexed).
- Because of the short episodes, it is really easy to watch and you actually feel kind of intrigued on what's gonna happen. The game is something new to me, as I have never heard of this game at all, so it was kind of interesting to see, although there some parts of the game I think are bit dangerous and could cuz a bit of problems, but overall it was a fun game. The music is horribly boring. I want you to know that a good song in the right moment can change a scene almost completely,.

OVERALL
It's more or less entertain and there are only 5 eps, so if you want give it a go. However, don't expect much and keep in mind it's a simple story. If you are looking for something with deep characters or plot, this is not for you.

Really Good Amateur Mini-Series

For most of the actors in this mini-series, it is their first acting job and they have all impressed me. Newyear, Kris, Mark, Best, M, and Us were all great. Most of them also acted in Love By Chance which is why they are famous but the others deserve just as much credit.

As for the story, it seems like harmless fun and partying where guys get drunk and dare each other to do things which leads to exploration, confusion, and experimentation. All part of growing up and figuring things out for oneself. Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don't.

I am also here mostly in support of Newyear. As an openly out queer person, he does not get as many opportunities in the BL drama universe in Thailand as he should be getting. Why do actors need to be straight to play gay characters? There is Earth and Fluke who are also openly gay. The only difference that I can see is that Newyear is open about his relationship with his partner Both on their YouTube channel whereas Earth and Fluke are single in the public eye. Really hoping and manifesting to see NewYear get more acting opportunities in the future just like Mark, Best, Kris, and Us whether in the BL world or not.

I started watching this series because of Newyear (one of the very few actors that I know are gay and play in a BL series) and because I wanted to watch something light after so many sad bl series I've watched.

POSITIVE
- The show is entertaining, but the story is simple and stereotipical.
- The acting is really good in my opinion (even tho the characters aren't the most complexed).
- Because of the short episodes, it is really easy to watch and you actually feel kind of intrigued on whats gonna happen.

NEGATIVE
-The music is horribly boring. I want you to know that a good song in the right moment can change a scene almost completely, but this show barely has ANY songs and that turns me off a bit. There were scenes were I was thinking "Oh, this would have been much more emotional with a different song". And thinking constantly about that often drives my attention off the series.
-The edition and production / camara work (?) is STATIC. Like literally static. There are no close ups or any interesting movements with the camera, not even the basic ones. I've never been someone that pays too much attention to these details, so I was surprised when I found myself being disappointed about these things.

OVERALL
It's more or less entertaing and there are only 5 eps, so if you want give it a go. However, don't expect much and keep in mind it's a simple story. If you are looking for something with deep characters or plot, this is not for you.
