Overrated but only to a certain group of people
I can definitely see and understand why this drama is considered a masterpiece as it moves the hearts and shifts the minds. However, I personally haven't experienced much misery in my life, fortunately, and watching this simply didn't resonate with me as much as I would have liked. Overall, it is still great and a good change of pace if you're watching the usual over-the-top dramas. What this drama does do well is the friendly neighbourhood vibe greatly reminiscent of the reply series and whenever those scenes were shown, it truly comforted me. Mashallah, 8.5/10¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?

Almost perfect?
Well, it's really hard to write anything about this drama at this moment because I just finished it, so my thoughts are all over the place. But one thing is fore sure: This show needs one or two simple fixes, and it would be perfect. The first half of the season was but slow and sometimes over the top, and I really needed some explanation, that I've got much later. Also, I felt the ending was a bit rushed. These two things aside, it's pretty much perfect. The writing, the OST, the directing, (except the weird look of the flashback scenes) and of course THE ACTING! Holy Mother of Jesus, the acting in this drama is something else. Sure, some people could say I'm a huge IU fan but man, if this drama would be an American show, she would've won an Emmy for her acting! Lee Sun Kyun and IU carried this show like it was nothing. Also, the supporting cast was amazing too. I really loved the brothers, even tho, sometimes I wanted to slap them so hard.? I don't think I will ever forget Lee Ji Ahn and her sweet relationship with her grandma. I was so angry when she died, but it was great to see everyone support and love Ji Ahn. After 21 YEARS, she can be happy finally!!! And thank God for the happy ending, even tho it was rushed, like I said. This show is a MUST for everyone!!!

I admit that I had a hard time making it through the first two episodes because Lee Ji-An seemed like such a terrible, amoral character. But I kept watching because the reviews were good and I’m very glad that I did. It kept getting better and better. The drama is a heartrending but ultimately inspirational and moving story about a damaged, emotionally numb girl and an equally emotionally distant man. I thought that Lee Sun-Kyun and IU were fantastic but all of the actors were also great (including Kim Young-Min, who made me actually feel sympathy for the antagonist). Some of the story lines ended messily and unhappily, just like in real life, but somehow that was fine because they all showed that what matters more than money or prestige or even romance, is the connections we make with those around us. As I said, the drama gets better and better with every episode.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
This is for the people who didn’t enjoy My Mister
I write this review amongst the glowing 9's and 10’s. I really do come in peace to just say that this is a very strong cup of tea that may not be a preferred cup as I have unfortunately found myself. It is a hectic watch . It is a tough watch . It is also a pouty watch. All these attributes are also the charms of the drama but are also the aspects that make it a pungent tea to some. Two things can be true at the same time and that is okay too .
Unfortunately, the former overwhelmed the other . It truly is the drama I couldn’t love even though I wanted to . And I can see what everyone talks about , I’m sure it inspires personal healing and human warmth and everything a slice of life should be but it just was not a slice of life I wanted to have . The tea leaves of Lee Jee An with her pouty grimace and the dry lips of the male lead and the pitiful brothers and mother were not sifted through the drama sieve well enough .
And those are the redeeming charms to some but it’s a no from me .

The A-Typical KDRAMA that is worth the watch
So I'll start by saying I've watched this drama several times now. I even got my wife to watch this drama even though she was reluctant because she was not a fan of the main character. She ended up also loving this drama. What I liked initially about this drama is there was no rich, handsome CEO or young, spoiled son of a billionaire driving expensive cars and wearing expensive clothes. It was refreshing to see something about a middle aged, hard working office worker who happens to get caught up in some struggles. Someone that didn't have a hidden talent for fighting 10 people at once or endless riches behind him. Everything just seemed more normal with an intriguing story line.
I never knew who this actor was, nor did I really know who IU was. I was just amazed because I thought IU fit the role perfectly and did a fantastic job. I only found out later that IU was a singer and maybe she is not great in some other roles but for this role I thought she played the part perfectly and my wife was initially surprised that I thought she was an excellent actor. Well, that was until she finished this series with me.
In any case - I don't write reviews often but this is something that will appeal to those that are sick of some of the typical cliches that fill kdramas. The acting is wonderful with some heartbreaking moments that will burn into your memory forever.

More than the sum of its parts...feels like I'm better off than I was when I started it
The writing, acting, and directing are all so strong...but the show is more than just the sum of those parts. It isn't a feel-good show by any stretch - it shows some dark events and explores some tough themes - but it unfolds in a way that leaves you feeling like you came through the other side better off than you were when you started. The themes of platonic love, family bonds, and neighborhood ties are woven together nicely.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?

Masterpiece
This drama is MY FAVORITE drama !I never watch another drama making me feel such emotions.
Relationship between lead characters is so unique, rare and unusual in the world of dramas.
They both struggle in their depressive and miserable lives. But they understand and support each other until they have better days.
So emotional and touching but also beautiful and heartwarming too.
Story, characters, casting/acting, staging/directing, OST… for me, it was just perfect !

The soundtrack also really supporting the scene and situations. Anw I hate why Jang ki Yong so cruel in here. I just watched "go back couple" and fall in love with his character as nam Gil sunbae but now I really angry to see his character in here. I also feel pity for Joon Young. All his plan failed even though I think he's one of the antagonists cast in here. But he loses against Park Dong Hoon. He also already paid Ji An but as a result, she betrayed him, and at the end episode he maybe gets punished or jailed and lost his title as CEO. He also was punched by Dong Hoon but he can't fight. After this drama ends I learn many things in life. Thank you "My Ahjussi"

Natural 10
My Mister... It's not easy to express how good this masterpiece is. Just WATCH IT.It is, by far, the best k-drama I have ever watched.
Every character has its own consistent arc. And those arcs interact in such a beautiful way that, little by little, well, a magnificent show unfolds.
The actors, too, obviously know this is no ordinary drama : chemistry abounds. The soundtrack is almost too memorable. The photography is mesmerizing. Every frame is beautiful.
The direction is brilliantly ambitious. With slow, long, scenes. Close-ups. Banal humiliations. Every-day frustrations. All turned, by some kind of magic, into the most moving piece of work I can remember.
