This drama was very good, but not a perfect drama. I felt that in this drama, the viewer can easily tell what's going to happen next (but then maybe it's because I saw so many spoilers on other websites... LOL). The plot was different than other dramas, since not a lot of dramas have the female lead to disguise herself as a male. I really liked the casting; UEE as Yoo He Yi was very believable. Her portrayal of the jealous girl was outstanding; I really hated that character. x D I usually don't remember the music during the drama, but I didn't hear anything unpleasant. I would recommend this drama to others, but I won't say that it's the best drama out there. Overall, I give this drama an eight out of ten. ¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
The best thing about it was the sound track .. it was very good :)

Park Shin Hye was great as both the fake and real Go Mi Nam. Her expressions were on point and she's great at emotional scenes as well.
I, like many, fell in love with adorkable Jeremy.
As much as I love Jung Yonghwa, his role felt a bit too lifeless. I think the fact that he was new to acting showed a bit. However, I liked Shin Woo over Hwang Tae Kyung. Although Jang Keun Suk's acting was perfect, the character was far from it. I felt that he was too harsh and I didn't like him a lot as a person.
However, all of the characters did have their moments.
I was also a little unsatisfied with the ending. I feel that if they had cut it off a few scenes earlier, it would have been perfect.
The music was another highlight, and the only thing that got a perfect score from me. It's been years, but I still sing some of the music from this drama - something very rare for me.
As much as I have criticized... The funny parts were hilarious. The melodrama wasn't too lengthy. The romance was cute. If only we could have seen more of the "real" Go Mi Nam.
I definitely recommend it if you want a lighthearted and sweet drama.

Strangely I really liked the cliche'd story, the nun pretending to be her twin brother to play in a boy band. Haha even that sounds weird. I marathoned the first half of this but then it started to lose it's plot a little and the end was very rushed. I felt a bit dissatisfied coming away from this drama, there's no follow up and I just didn't get the happy ending I wanted.
Cast-wise they were all great, although they looked really young for the age i presume they were playing (18-20) though this could be a cultural difference. This sounds like a minor thing but I just couldn't take them all seriously and I couldn't connect with it very well. Also I had second lead syndrome, Shinwoo (Jung Yong-hwa) and Jeremy seem better characters than the lead, who predictably is an arrogant jerk.
The music was also really good, it really fit the whole drama.
I'd recommend this drama to anyone who wants a sweet funny romance, just be prepared for the loose ends at the ending and the cliches.

The show hasn't aged well
You're beautiful is from 2009. I might have thought it was okay if I'd watched at that time, but watching it in 2021 made me see that it didn't age well. The clothes, the hairstyles, the filming - they all left a lot to be desired. The story was okay, but the execution was lacking. There was so much repetitiveness in this show, at times I wondered if I'd accidentally not forwarded to the next episode.
As for the acting - jang Geun Suk at Tae Kyung was one-dimensional. He just looked angry throughout the whole show. There was no growth in his character. I loved him in Love Rain, so I know he can act, but it wasn't happening in this show.
By far the worst part of this whole mess was Park Shin Hye as Mi Nam and Mi Nyeo. She was extremely irritating throughout. Her character was a mess. They had her do things that I'm thinking they were hoping would come across as cute, but they didn't. From the way she walked to the way she talked, everything irked me. Shin Hye overacted her way through this - either wide-eyed, downcast, or bawling her eyes out, everything was just too over the top. I've seen her in more recent works and she's pretty good, so she has improved over the years.

Watching this drama and comparing it to her later dramas...you can also really see how much Park Shin Hye has improved over the years. Part of why I disliked the main character so much at the start was because her voice was in constant aegyo and there were weird, unnatural facial expressions that might've been an attempt at humor.
But the plot actually got better, and I really enjoyed the development of the characters. Even the main lead, who started off really mean, turned out to be quite lovable and understandable. I was fully prepared to be suffering through SLS the entire drama but that did not happen.
A lot of the issues were very cliche, especially since cross-dressing identity secret plot comes with a lot of cliches of its own. But the humor made it a lot better, and none of the plot points were dragged out for too long.

Didn’t age well
This drama def didn't age well. After finishing this all I can say is SLS is strong. Why on earth would Mi Nam continue to fall for the Tae Kyung and his prickly, rude and often downright childish behavior! Yes Tae Kyung helped her oftentimes but his ego and pride really was awful. Shin Woo was so caring and helped Mi Nam without the drama. Shin Woo deserved better! The FL's behavior also got very annoying after awhile. It's understandable that bc she only grew up in the nunnery orphanage (and as a result wanted to become a nun) the character would be very mousy. But after the umpteenth time of "sorry" and meek behavior bc she lead a cloistered life i just had it with her.

Although the plot is guillable, the cast isn't. If it hadn't been a good cast I would have given up on this show in the first episode itself. It was funny right from the funny episode so I decided to continue it.
I really, really liked it. All the characters grew on me slowly and now it is definitely one of my favorite dramas. The only character I didn't like was Go Mi Nam. I wasn't a fan of hers. I get that she was about to be a nun and all, but that doesn't mean she has to be all that clueless about things. Also, I didn't like the way she was with the other nicer guys who genuinely loved her compared to Tae Kyung. He was overly domineering, harassing and downright offensive. I didn't like the fact that the girl was a total pushover. She seemed to lack self-respect and pride but she had plenty of selfishness. I didn't buy her angel-like innocent side.
Jeremy was probably the best character by the end of the show. He had more sides and depth to him than others had. He was kind, loving, caring and equally funny and entertaining. I would have probably chosen him over the other two. Shin Woo was alright but he had no personality other than his overly cheesy romantic side. It just didn't touch me. And I did like Tae Kyung- he did some pretty great things for Go Min Nam/Nyu but I think had it been Jeremy or Shin Woo, they would have probably done the same for her. So I kind of question this "one and only one" when it comes to his case.
The writing of the show is just alright. It lacked originality. All the sub-plots and ideas have been overly used. The direction of the show was also pretty alright. So because of a lack of original story line, it is not going to be the best drama I have seen so for.
It did get pretty lackluster in the last few episodes, but it was still a better show than so many others I have been recently watching.

The relationship between Shin Woo, Go Mi Nam (Nyu) and Tae Kyung is perfectly depicted. The actors are outstanding, though Go Mi Nam's character is too cliché, sometimes.
So the only thing missing in the story, with the excellent mixture of subplots and overall synopsis, is that it sometimes gets too... obvious. Because Go Mi Nam's character is so very basic, you can tell what she's going to do.
What kept me watching these series is the three original members of their fictional band, A.N.Jell. I am probably not the only one who developed a motherly feeling towards them all.
Jang Geun Suk who plays Tae Kyung really doubled the score, though. To see him actually smile, was a golden moment. That is what you should look for in this. Tae Kyung's marvelous transformation from a cold bad-asser to a... cute, hurt boy. Him growing up alongside more and more information that gets revealed about his past, the viewer will from the very start feel for him.
You're Beautiful is something you should really watch if you'd like to see a top notch actor in action. Jang Geun Suk is magical.
