Story: The first 4 eps take place in the 70s and tells the romance/breakup of the couple (who becomes the older couple in the present storyline 2012). I'll tell you the truth, I did find these eps boring and i was ready to drop but i wanted to see what the present story-line would be like. Well ep 5 happened and i was quite surprised by how light everything was and i found myself watching a romantic comedy instead of a melo (i was quite confused). Well i was intrigued for a few eps after that but then things werent really going anywhere and nothing interesting outside of many tears (now i know why its a melo)that most of the characters shed due to the complicated relationships (Parent romance). This can make anyone become tired after watching the same thing for a while. The ending was the best!
Acting/Cast: Jang Gun Suk definitely is a chameleon and can make me believe any role he takes on. I think the girl from Girls Generation did fine (this is the first thing ive seen her in) but she did have the luck of having chemistry with JGS. I do think any other actress her age could have played the same role and probably better. The supporting cast did an amazing job cause i ended up liking most of the side characters.
Music: I loved the score and the OST fit the drama well.
Rewatch: Honestly if the drama didnt have the great casting and the ending that it did, i probably wouldnt want to watch this again.
Overall Love Rain has a plot that might tire you but its definitely a must watch for Jang Gun Suk, the beautiful cinematography, interesting side characters, and great ending.

Loved the first part...
Love RainI was drawn to this drama especially because it was set in Korea during the 1970s. Everything was a complete discovery and I paid attention to every little detail. The slow pace, the clothes, the architecture, the social norms, and the historical implications from that time.
I absolutely fell in love with the first part of this drama and both characters played by Jang Geun Suk and Im Yoona. I found their love story so touching and I wanted it to keep going in the same setting. Once the time skip happened, the new romance did not grab my attention. I was really hoping to see JGS act in a different type of role and after a few episodes, we're back to his usual. Their relationship felt childish and contrived in comparison to their parents. It followed the usual rom-com formula and I found it really disappointing. As it progresses their non-conversations and their ability to NOT communicate keeps the story going in circles making everything very tiresome and underwhelming.
Ultimately I really wanted to know more about the older couple. The show made it as if the parents were interfering with their childrens' happiness, but to me, their relationship was so boring that I saw it as if the kids were in the way.

The plot will make you really think hard what to do if you are in the main characters' shoes.Sacrificing one's own happiness is something that is rarely seen today, and this drama just portrayed how powerful love is,that when we sacrifice, we feel pain, but it also brings us joy.
I was a bit surprised too to see some kissing scenes because most of the Kdramas i've seen before aren't that liberated, but i think it was okay, they made it quite natural.
The soundtrack is perfect, I wish I could get a copy of the songs.

The plot, although a cliché it was very interesting and made you wanted to watch even more. There were bits where it got a bit boring but every drama has that.
The music is the BEST i loved it so much and it goes well with each situation that happen.
The cast were great cant complain, expect some characters existence was irrelevance.
Overall 100% worth watching. :)

the acting was awesome. im yoon ah did wonderfully as yoon hee. and jang geun seok looks good no matter what he does. although i liked him better as the caring, sensitive at the same time decisive seo joon. :)
the music was epic.very catchy. it sticks with you (and then you cant get out of your head). the soundtrack was well and aptly utilized. it balanced and supplemented the dramatic scenes as well as the cute yoon-ha and the seo joon-hana moments. :)
mi ho and hye joong made wonderful bad-but-pitiable-and-not-so-bad guys. hye joong in particular was quite impressive. there were moments in the drama where i quite literally wanted to rip her head off, but in the end i couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
in my opinion, the end felt slightly rushed. for half the drama you go through mourning for in ha and anticipating more "unseen" obstacles for the joon-hana. so the fact that it ended on such an abruptly good note was kind of unsettling for me. the end still managed to bring a smile on my face though :) it was warm, touching, cute and sunny :)
i also liked how hye joong changes her personality a little in the end but still manages to remain the same character.
on the overall, i would rate this drama an 8. :)

Story: People said that the story was slow.. But hey, Love Rain has the same script writer with Endless Love and Classic. They have the similiar genre actually, especially in first 4 episodes (in the 1970s era).. But as for me, it's perfectly fine. I enjoyed the flow of the story (even though actually I skipped episode 4 and just go through to episode 5). The 1970s story was so fluffy and almost poetic. Classic and romantic. It was different from most of recent dramas (which tend to have romantic comedy genre).
The rest of the episodes (the 2012 era) more likely parted into 2 stories: about Inha-Yoonhee and Joon-Hana. The 2012 stories are not as poetic as the 1970s, but still, it gives the feelings of "classic romance" rather than "romantic comedy". The storyline didn't have much twist, and not much side stories which apart from the main storyline. The story more likely stick with the main storyline and its development. Maybe that's why people becomes bored, because somehow the ending was predictable.
Acting: As usual, Jang Geunsuk was really good (somehow Joon's character remind me of Hwang Taekyung from You're Beautiful.. LOL). There were people who said that Yoona's acting here was terrible, and that her expression was flat. Well, imo, it's not that Yoona can't act, but Hana's character didn't need that much expression. Imo, Yoona already did very well as Hana. Their chemistry also really good.
But why I can't give 10 on score board was because, the older character, not all of them give me the same feeling as when they were younger.
Music: sooo heartwarming, especially Jang Geunsuk's Love Rain :) I definitely will listen to the whole album.
Rewatch value: as I said, because the storyline was slow and pretty predictable, also because there's not much twist, maybe not much of you would like to rewatch this. I, myself, not really rewatch the dramas I've watched. So, yeah..
Overall: This is a great drama, for you, the classic romance fans.. If you're looking for romantic comedy with a lot side stories and a lot of twist, maybe you will drop this drama from the very first episode.
If you can't stand the 1st episode, I suggest you can skip straight to episode 5. You maybe will lost the story a little, but there were plenty of flashbacks so maybe you can catch up with the stories, or maybe you can just focus on Joon-Hana's love line :)

the 1970's love story wasn't that bad. actually, it's my first time to watch that kind of era, and it was really justifiable 'coz the characters have their job well done in that scenes. then, the modern day puffed geun suk was so handsome in there and yoona as usual was so adorable. it was an overall transformation to both of them. i started to became addicted as episode 5 started and anticipated more on the drama to the extent that I, myself was creating an ending for the story. though, i know it's a little bit predictable, i still prefer to watch it to see how the story goes on. the ending was great and it was very satisfying unlike the other dramas that i have seen there's no such marriage involved. anyway, what i just don't like is that the climax was so long that it took many episodes before they've resolve the problem but then, overall, a great story with such very good and amazing actors and a happy ending of course :)

I swear if Jang Geun Seok gets ne hotter the world will be n trouble ov being set on fire. His smile z just killer & when he z being arrogant....OMG his facial expression z just....IDK I don't think there r words 2 describe the feelings invoked by that man!
OK, now that I got all that out ov my system.
I think that may be what was wrong. Jang Geun Seok z just 2 good ov an actor. Not that the rest ov the cast wasn't good; I just don't think that some ov the acting was @ the same lvl his z & some ov it was kinda cheesy. Like the parts w/ Mi Ho didn't rly measure up. She either wasn't evil enough or determined enough 2 be a real prob 4 Ha Na & Seo Jun, & Hye Jung's character was just annoying. It's not like she rly did anything except make herself look bad.
All-n-all I loved this drama. When I have the urge 2 watch a heartwarming, love-filled drama I will come back 2 this b/c the ppl n love never stop loving each other. 2 me that z what love z. Overcoming those problems 2gether instead ov trying 2 solve things on ur own. Good job n making me feel comfort n strong love that z possible, instead ov a fantasy.
