Want a season 2
Go story did drag a bit but nothing to bad. Love the ML the reason I watched this drama. The FL is so pretty her character did annoy me a tad for never trusting someone to claims to love.I lived for the cuteness of the second couple would love to see more of them together. Side drama. Or am all new drama.
Also like to see what happens to the New Emperor and Wen Xin. Like when she grows up. Aren’t they gonna know who she is?
Only thing I dislike was the ending. Like why. I wanna know what happens when ML shows to the cottage. And I wanna know what the FL been doing the whole time!!!!

Ugh! Where do I begin?!
I went into this not expecting much or paying attention to the good or bad reviews as I do with every drama but let me tell you...This drama is confusing on so many levels. I was really into it at first until they showed Dongyue younger self. considering she is the FL seeing Wen Xin so close with the ML and specially the SML was really uncomfortable. Also am I the only one bothered by the fact that both Dongyue and Wen Xin are in the same timeline? I mean Wen Xin is gonna grow up and look EXACTLY like Dongyue since they are the same person. And so what then? Will Wen Xin go and marry Pang Yu while her older self is with Pang Xi?
If you pay attention there is a HUGE AGE GAP!! And I'm not into grooming so... Would've been better if they found a way to converge the two or never bring Wen Xin up in the first place. Anyway this was just so messed up and such a waste of time!!
The only good point imo was the acting. The entire cast did a good job despite a sloppy story and I'm glad I got to see the main male actor not playing a villlain for once. he did great! I hope I'll see more of him in ml roles.
Sigh!! I'm still disappointed cause I REALLY liked it in the beginning ??

Terrible female lead
The female lead is terrible - she had 3 expressions throughout - 1. sulk 2. confused 3. blank. She does not have the gravitas to act in this type of role.When the FL wants to assassinate someone, there is no planning, no nothing. Just rush in hoping that it would work. That's so stupid. She doesn't trust the male lead and chooses to believe everyone else accept the person she can die for. What's that about??
Why, why, why did i waste my time on 23 episodes - i kept watching cos i had hoped the FL would get better. The male lead and the 2nd couple (both male and female) are much better. There was chemistry there.
Almost everyone else is better than the female lead.

Incorrect summary about the prince and other things
First off, the series mentions very briefly about the very short lifespan friendship between the prince and the ML when both were little children. This series is definitely NOT about how the FL breaks up the non-existent friendship between the prince and the ML.Considering that the FL went back in time and met the ML first, not the prince, it sounds fair that the FL and ML got together again and again, while the prince tried his best to steal the girl, using any excuses he could, fair or not. (The prince character seems weak, narrow minded & stupid at times. I am glad the FL didn't go for him, even if this FL character happens to be very dumb, who constantly made horrible mistakes and caused troubles for others.)
My guess is, the prince character gets jealous with the ML character perhaps since the time they were little children (hence the prince's tendency to constantly find fault with the ML, his mean schemes to get rid of the ML). Leave it alone, the prince wouldn't be bother looking twice at the FL, but seeing her with the ML triggered his competitive & petty nature.
The ML played his role very well. The FL was just so so.
The plot was a bit messy. The story was not told well here, a pity! Side characters & their romance or whatever else, took too much screen time, which dragged and dragged...

Just re-watched some episodes. Sounds like FL sacrificed herself (by breaking the flute) so that ML could wake up and live. They re-united in the end (the implication was there with ML after travelling everywhere to search for FL, finally saw FL's back at a cottage, waiting for him). At the palace, the prince (turned out he was ML's younger brother) seemed to get the present version of FL, since the younger girl practically followed him around (like FL had used to follow ML in their previous life).

Slightly draggy but decent
Pros:1. The story not only focuses on the main characters but it also gave a chance for the second leads to shine.
Personally I find the love between the second leads way cuter than the mains (The roles of the second leads are naive and they act as really cute 17 year olds + the characters are NOT annoying which is rare).
2. The male lead is quite cunning (in a good way) and does a lot of unexpected things in the show. Thus as a viewer, it is interesting to see how the story unfolds and how he tricks his enemies using his brain.
3. Though the male lead is clever and crafty, the female lead is not the basic weak girl that we see in other dramas. She is exceptionally good at martial arts and has her own backbone to voice out her opinions.
Cons:
1. The female lead often misunderstands the male lead and it’s kinda annoying how the ML often plans a trap out but DOESN’T inform the FL, leading to EVEN MORE misunderstandings.
2. The music isn’t that catchy (it’s been 25 episodes and I still can’t remember how the melody goes)
3. It’s a little draggy (I thought the story was gonna end but something else pops up and it felt as if the story starts all over again from episode 1).
4. As a viewer, it is unclear when the ML actually falls in love with the FL as at the start he kept her by his side to prevent her from killing ***** but he also said he liked her from first sight??

Interesting so far
The story seems to be on excellent starting footing with action in episode 1. Difficult watching Jin Han as the hero after having just completed Princess Wei Young where he was a very bad villain. Verdict still out as just watching episode 2 now. The premise of the story is also very interesting. Costume quite impressive. Original sound track very haunting. Good wuxia. And acting so far. Characters are also being introduced and storyline being set. The current batch of Mandarin series really is setting the bar on many aspects.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
