Music + Romance + Comedy + 20% intimacy

Since I am a huge fan of music, I loved the Idea of this series.
I think the Writer and Director did a pretty good job to show how music can make people in love and how music is sometimes the key to approach someone.

There are not a lot of BL series which focus on a subject rather than the relationship between the main couple but this series amazingly immersed music in the story and made a great use out of it.
The progress Tine was making in playing guitar kinda show the progress he is making in liking Sarawat.
The scenes between Tine and Sarawat wasn't cringy at all and I think that's why I liked this series a lot despite some points.
The relationship between them, for a shorter series, developed at a very good pace.

The only thing that kind of was a tad upsetting was the lack of intimate relationship between Tine and Sarawat.
You know, for a thai production where censorship isn't a problem, I kinda expected the crew to remain a tad more faithful to the novel and express the intimacy between the main roles a bit better.

ACTING
Let me tell you, The chemistry was real. despite being rookies, their acting was realistic and they pulled out the tension pretty well.

overall, despite a few weakness, this series was quite worth the watch and I hope I haven't mislead anyone :D

Win and Bright had an amazing and natural chemistry since day one, but sadly not till the end. The slow pace, but extremely cute interactions we’ve got to see from the first episode were more than I could ask for if only they followed with a more cohesive take on their relationship.

Sarawat, for the good majority of the show, was for me one of my favorite BL characters out there. The “I don’t care, could not be bothered by others” attitude he had in the beginning episodes was so amazing and refreshing and when you pair it with how much of a cute, shy and romantically awkward, but clingy potato he is, I can die happy. Straightforward, but not in a rude way, we stan. But then something happened in episode 12 - that thing is called lazy writing. There is nothing worse than giving your character 180 just to create artificial drama and unnecessary conflict.

Tine was just a clueless bunny. Seeing how this was Win’s first role, I must say he has done an extremely good job portraying all the emotions his character was feeling. The new actors often either underact or overact, but I see some nice balance from him.

Since Tine was quite not aware of anything that was truly happening around him, it created many funny scenes that were natural and did not feel like a cheap comedy. Truth to be told, Tine was probably the best written character in the whole show.

The whole supporting cast did an amazing job, creating a nice atmosphere and many memorable comedic moments. The interactions between Tine and Sarawat’s friend felt organic and were enjoyable to watch.

What surprised me the most was the fact that I actually cared for the side couple and did not feel like skipping their scenes at all. Man and Type had nice dynamics and I truly loved Sarawat’s brother Phukong - cheeky little thing.

The plot is simple yet told in such an endearing way I just smiled watching each and every episode. Few small twists here and there kept the story more interesting and exciting. If we exclude the mess episodes 12 and 13 were, it's quite a nice, slower paced sweet romance. The chemistry between Tine and Wat was better in the first, than second half though. I put the blame here on writing and directing. Why? What happened?

I was just confused what Tine and Wat’s relationship exactly is and what they are comfortable with. I have no problem with shows being more on a romantic “PG13” side with one kiss happening as a finale, sealing the deal. I never expected TT or WRU type of content in this. But then why did things keep being hinted at and then scenes cut without proper closure? Why was Tine shy about the smallest romantic skinship, but at the same time be fine with more explicit things (that were hinted at, but never shown)? They felt like best bros, a couple that just started dating and a couple that has lived together for a few years at the same time… When a couple high fives instead of giving each other a kiss. I was lost at some point.

I have to talk about the production quality, because it was truly amazing… to a certain point. The set designs were perfect and the rooms of the character well represented who they are. Technical aspects like lighting or camera work were also good. Too bad I can’t say the same thing about editing. There were some pacing problems here and there that made me and some other viewers confused about the time progression. Some romantic scenes were cut in such weird places, it felt like they were trying to censor stuff. While I know it was not the case, it gave me that impression.

Any random complaints? First kiss from Sarawat and Win. Damn I felt like Bright didn’t quite want to commit.
The ever-changing hair of Bright too.

Overall, it’s a cute fluff story that failed when trying to do something else in the last few episodes. It started as 10/10 for me, but as the quality of writing and editing dropped, so did my rating.

I have to admit that how the series started was very captivating, I even thought the series would be the cream of the crop for this year. But after the lead characters wallowed into relationship everything went off track. The storyline turned into a mess. Bl is really supposed to be light, but this turned out so dense that i can't connect with the story itself. Another thing I don't hate Bright, but i think dramas were not meant for him, i had some cringey moments watching him when they were making the scene emotional or dramatic. And I think they rushed the last episodes. However, on behalf of Win who actually did a great job even it was his first bl also series. I admire his acting, he was so in character. Kudos also to the support roles who made the series more exciting and entertaining. Anyway, the series was still good for those who haven't watch it yet.

The twist of scene is very unpredictable, and if you not watch all the series, you will never feel the feeling that I have....It start stuck my heart, and when I know this series has been ended, my heart feel in pain, and asking why every story have end....so please to the creator of this series, would you create many seasons until Tine and Sarawat graduated...I feel right now a wanna be kind of feeling of something unforgettable...

I will recommend it to those who want a inspirational things

The story follows a college freshman named Tine (Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn) who finds himself being followed by a relentless gay suitor. In a ploy to shake him off without directly having to break his heart, Tine's group of friends suggest that he fake-date Sarawat (Bright Vachirawit Chiva-aree), their university's enigmatic and reserved, resident heartthrob. Though both apprehensive about the plan at first, Tine and Wat's reluctant fake relationship eventually turns into something more.

Even in the year 2020, romantic comedy storylines involving queer leads are a rarity, which is what makes 2gether a breath of fresh air. Amid the admittedly limited number of available LGBT media, a staggering amount of films and TV shows seem to only know how to depict the struggles of the community, most of which end in separation, and often even death.

2gether, on the other hand, adapts none of that. It’s a lighthearted, feel-good romantic comedy laced with mounds of kilig scenes enough to have you cheezing before your laptop screen like an idiot for hours. The best part? It takes a tired heteronormative narrative and serves it to the Asian queer community on a silver platter. Fake dating? Check! Enemies to lovers? Absolutely! Incredibly cheesy one-liners? They definitely hit different when you can finally relate to the images onscreen.

Sure it’s not perfect. There’s a lot of cringe-worthy scenes, problematic lines, and the acting may be questionable at times, but at the end of the day it’s a series that positively depicts the nuances of a very real love story between two people of the same gender. And for queer consumers in dire need of a frothy pick-me-up that they can identify with, 2gether definitely delivers.

Let’s call it what it is. 2gether is a fantasy. A gay-utopia if you would, where no one’s ever vilified for loving who they love. No matter how progressive the world has gotten, it's still not usual for a group of seemingly straight college boys to casually throw around the idea of fake-dating someone of the same gender, just to get out of a predicament. Nor would a completely heterosexual person agree to it without batting an eye or worrying about what others might say or think of them.

That said, no matter how unrealistic, what it presents then is a possibility. It proves that, although we’re nowhere near it, an open and accepting society such as 2gether’s version of Thailand, can and should definitely exist.

The series started off strong but then the chemistry started to fade away. Even if they didn't want to give the audience a proper and romantic kiss, they should have at least shown a bit of skinship. The series is rated PG13+ for what exactly? Head pats? Win was great for his first time and Bright, while he did an okay job, it was obvious he was not that into character. The director should have just followed the novel how it is. It was all good uptill episode 8. The unnecessary drama, insecurity, jealousy and conflicts put me off. Mike and Toptap did a great job on the other hand.

Saratine just doesn’t progress!
Tine is also such a pain. So distant and some times a bit slow with understanding. He also never trusts sarawat one bit even tho wat never gives him reason to not trust him. The side couples have more intamacy then the main couple. The show really feels like we are 12 and only allowed to hold hands. Whenever sarawat implies intamacy tine just gets pissed, even after a year together. Wish the relationship progressed more, the whole chemistry just never lifted of the ground for me. Sad.

How to smash good potential against the wall

- At the beginning of the show everything was on point; the chemistry was awesome, the story line was funny and without unnecessary drama. It was something new that I hadn't seen before without any cliché or rushed processes. - But at the time they began to realize their behavior is not faked and they started their so called relationship the show kinda smashed the potential against the wall. - They did not only had no real character development nor "couple behavior", I mean i don't necessarily need kisses or stuff like that (I think a show like Soutus is the best example to show that it's possible) but WHY did it felt like they made a step backe? They initial chemistry while they pretended to be a couple was amazing but after that it seemed they became brothers or something like that. -Of course they had their sweet moments but it could have been 1000 times better if they had continued where they stopped while "faking". -To conclude I would say the show is not bad, especially the first episodes are really good and funny, but its sad to see how such a good potential was not used and bc of that I'm somehow disappointed.

During the quarantine, people need something to make them feel good. To distract them from what is happening in the world. And truly, 2gether The Series will make you feel good! The chemistry of Bright and Win is 10/10. Both Bright and Win did justice to Sarawat and Tine's characters. Although we cannot deny the fact that we are thirsty for more skinship between the two, other than those little taps in the head, but this series just proves that intense kissing and love scenes are not needed to provide a good TV series. Hoping for a Season 2!

Disclaimer: This is my opinion about the series. Also, I tried not to include spoilers however, I do mention what happens at the end of the series.

I loved 2gether the series at the beginning. I really thought that this will be one of my fav BL series ever. However, towards the climax the actors and storyline turned to a living disaster.

There are several reasons as to why this series fell short however, I will only mention 3 major reasons:

1. Tine falling in love with Sarawat.
While it did start sweet they did rush Tine coming to terms about falling for another man while being straight. And also, Tine never initiates intimacy nor romantic stuff couples usually do and Sarawat was the only one who did. The reason as to why this was disappointing was because I thought they were both alpha males in the relationship. I thought the stereotypical roles you usually see in the BL series wouldn't apply here such as in Addicted. Honestly, I wanted more from the producer and director. I wanted them to show why Tine was slow in the romantic aspect with Sarawat, I wanted to know more about Tine's emotions and struggle with finding out that you fell in love with the same sex.

2. Chemistry.
The chemistry was good in the first few episodes. The series at that time was oozing with sweetness. Whenever I saw the series I felt like I was eating cotton candy. However, after episode 9 the chemistry started to go downhill. I know everyone has a personal life and that may be the reason why the chemistry started going downhill, however, when you have a job at least look like you enjoy it. Now episode 9 was not the end for me. I thought that even though episode 10 was absolute crap, I thought episode 11 would turn the series around. However, when Sarawat was pouring his heart out to Tine and Tine did nothing?!? I thought that this is not worth it anymore. 11 hours wasted. However, I still decided to watch the last 2 episode and I regretted it dearly. And another thing, Tine had a problem with voicing out his emotions and sadly that was not captured well in this series.

3 The storyline
The storyline was honestly good in the beginning. However, I don't know who told the producer and directer that changing the storyline from the novel to that soap-drama we saw, was a good idea. They did not need to include Sarawat's ex in that way they did to have drama or a good show. Just watch Sotus the series if you want to know what I mean. It was really hard to watch the last two episodes and do you know what my reward was? Sarawat and Tine giving each other a high five at the end of ep 13!!!! I- What a disappointment.

However, one thing that did not disappoint was the music and the side actors. They were enjoyable to watch from the start to the end.

To conclude, the series was a damp squib. I will not rewatch it nor will I watch season 2 (if it comes out). I don't think anything can save this series unless the actors can build up their chemistry, and the production can stop making poor choices or stick to the novel to be safe. As other reviewers have already mentioned, this was indeed not a BL series more like an awkward story between strangers.

The first 9 episodes are amazing. Highly recommended. Watch up to that point and then make up your own satisfying ending.

Because eps 10-13 are utter disappointment. Sarawat and Tine wind up being more like platonic roommates, who barely hug or show any closeness. You can drive a truck through them during most parts, they stand so far apart.

ManType is the only reason to watch eps 10-13. In the end, they demonstrate more closeness than the main couple.

MilPhukong is just toxic. Phukong needs to get out of that situation.

In the end, it’s a disappointment.

If it IS the case that Bright doesn’t want to do any more bl, I fully support that decision. He seemed uncomfortable with the scenes and he can’t really act.

Win is promising and I hope he finds satisfying roles in the future.

episodes 1-10: absolutely loved it, it was great I just couldn't stop rewatching it. The plot was fine, and the characters were well developed. I didn't really have any complaints.
episodes 11-13: ON THE OTHER HAND, they really said f**k it and ruined the whole show. Once they got together they became more platonic, and it's not even about the lack of kissing (I have watched The Untamed idc about kissing), it's just just how they started behaving with each other. (Also, I don't really understand why they made them kiss twice when they were not even a couple and Tine didn't kiss back but afterwards they barely touch, god in episode 13 THEY HIGH FIVED I DIED).it's just that they somehow rushed into everything, like moving in together, and the plot and writing were lacking something. They brought in unnecessary drama when they could have just developed the side couples who deserved better. I just watched episode 13 and I was very disappointed, only Man and Type were great whereas everything else was quite underwhelming. Also, there were too many flashbacks.

I would like to call myself a BL Drama addict, i have watched tens of them, but what really makes 2gether one of the greatest is that simplicity and inoccence to tell the story, the way that it just feels like if you were watching someone story, i mean, i know maybe the plot at the beginning by itselft may be a little cliché and unrealistic, but once you go beyond that is a hell of a drama, The acting, OMG, the acting is spot on, the way you can teel the two main character really attract each other just by the way they look each other.

I was shock when i found out that, This is Win (Tine) firts acting role, his scenes are the best of the show, he just seem like a pro, Bright (Sarawat) acting is just natural, you would even tell he isn't acting, it seems effortless. But is no only the two main character with great acting skills, Scenes including Tine's friends are comedy gold, and some of them may make you cry (thanks Fong aka "the voice of the reason"),

Its difficult to find a BL when there is no girl trying to destroy the boys love, actually i fall in love with Pear, i dont make me talk about Air (Nene) perfectness everytime she is on the sceen

To conclude, What makes 2gether one of the greatest BL out there? Well, the Amazing acting, the very realistic way the main characters seem to love eachother, The girls (did i talk you about how bad i love Air?), the boy gang, the comedy, you even feel empathy with one of the characters (Green). Great BL
