Falling Into Your Smile (2021)

Great support characters, good ML, a really bad actress FL

You see, I am on episode 21 and I think...I won't be able to finish this drama. It's just not so well written, and the FL is unfortunately played by a bad actress that keeps one facial expression for most of the time.
However, the world of e-sports is pretty fascinating and portrayed well in this drama (though they did get some hate in China on misleading about e-sports and etc.), all the support characters are really awesome (my fav are Xiao Peng and Xiao Rui) and the ML is played well by a handsome actor that can go from icy cold to really tender in a blink of an eye. There are also heftier topics discussed, like the position of women in e-sports and in games in general, cyberbullying, being in the spotlight, relationships of public personas, rivality between teams...but even this can't help the fact that the FL is not well cast. Do give it a go though, if you don't mind watching a poker face FL - there is a lot of handsome guys to ogle instead :P

E Gamers Behaving Like Teenagers

If you fancy watching a bunch of teenagers playing E Games, then please go ahead and watch this drama. If that isn't your cup of tea, then leave it.

The FL actress is also why I couldn't finish The World of Fantasy.

Everytime I see this actress in a drama, she is acting like a sulky, brooding teenager. She isn't wooden, although she is emotionless, in that she is in a constant state of arrogant irreverence instead. In this drama, she is her usual uninterested sulky teenager self, and, as always, the ML falls for her despite her not having one redeeming quality.

By the way, that Ragdoll cat of hers is a bred cat. Any person or character that owns such a cat, is someone who is deeply superficial and vacuous. Someone who shops for a cat because they "need" a cat to have blue eyes and white hair in order to love him/her. There is a cat population crisis in China, and tv casting chooses a bred cat, which shouldn't even exist in the first place, over an equally if not more beautiful domestic short hair, or domestic long hair rescue cat??! Shameful.

I skipped a bunch of episodes after about the second episode, as I couldn't stand the sulky FL anymore. I am dropping this drama like a hot potato. If Xu Kai's character wants a sulky, irreverent teenager with bangs over her eyes as his girlfriend, well, good luck to him.

Best airing Drama right now

I was a bit surprised when I read that Chinese audiences disliked the show when it premiered because honestly this is a fantastic lighthearted show about a falling in love while doing what she loves. I'm so over Dramas that are melodramatic and this was perfect for people like me that just wants some happiness. Now let me further elaborate the great things this show does.

-----Acting-----
Every single actor in this show is fantastic. Especially the leads. I never feel as if they're phoning it in or they're their real life selves rather than the characters they are playing. The characters feeling genuine might have helped as well.

-----Characters----
For the most part, every character (even if not shown with the most screen time) has their own quirks or personality traits. And lesser characters still shine due to the great actors portraying them. The main leads in particular are fascinating to watch because they both have very individualistic or proud personalities but different ways of showing them which plays well with their dynamic when interacting with one another. Speaking of which, their chemistry is breathtaking and at the level I've only seen in the 'Intense Love' series.

----Story----
The story isn't revolutionary but it's the execution in which it plays out that makes it a very addicting watch. It's similar to a fish out of water scenario mixed with a rise to power story in a sense( Mixed in with romance throughout). Again, this wouldn't be as good as it is without the well defined characters interacting with each other believably to their own personalities. The story also doesn't make characters do ridiculous things for the sake of drama. They only do what their characters would naturally do, which makes them feel like real people that live in china rather than from a TV show. That's very difficult for dramas to do properly and makes the show ever more admirable.

------Conclusion------
This show is utterly fantastic so far and I hope many more people watch this show. It's not just the aspects above that are fantastic but the cinematography, animation and editing that feel very professional and done with care. Watch this show. You won't regret it.

LOVE THIS DRAMA IF YOU HAVE'NT SEEN IT GO WATCH IT NOWWWWW

i love this drama and all but it takes to long to upload a episode. FOR EXAMPLE it said that ep 17-22 will be uploaded on july 1 but its july 2 now and i cant sleep anymore i need the episodes to come out fasttttttt. E-Sport Romance

I have read the novel of this drama and know what to expect. So far, this drama successfully portrayed the novel for me. It may be more tamed and had some changes but it added more real life moments like parents visiting the workplace.
This is a perfect show to start knowing professional gaming dramas where characters really play and duel for national competitions. This is a mixed of esports and romance. The female lead in the novel was supposed to be 19 years old, that's why please bear in mind that sometimes she act immature. Nonetheless, she's a good female player. I like that she's really good and deserves her spot in the team.

In terms of casting, I feel like they perfectly selected them, Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao as the lead. Cheng Xiao might not be as good as Xu Kai in terms of acting, but her overall demeanor just screams "Tong Yao" for me.

The music is well matched so far. I know they have lots of songs for this drama with different Cpop artists like Angela, Chen Zhouxuan, WayV, Chinese members of Seventeen, etc..

I am a sucker for Romance. This drama may not be good for others, but for me, it's more than enough. I like the combination of Esports and Romance.

Was this written by a 12 year-old?

I didn't intend to watch this show because the sinopsis was not very appealing to me, but after seeing so many positive reviews I decided to give this show a chance, but wow the regret I have now.

From the start this show was very tedious, it was a chore just to get to episode 8. The plot is the most boring I've seen in a while and a lot of the things that happen feel overdramatic and blown out of proportion, what makes it hard to take the story seriously since everything that happens is so childish.

As someone who plays games (inclusing MOBAs like the one featured here) I can tell that the gaming and e-sports plot was just very weak. Besides, a lot of the times they showed the characters playing they were just awful. How am I supposed to believe these people are pros when they play like someone who has no basic notion of the game? Nevertheless, I still tried to give this drama a chance since everyone talked abut how great the romance and the leading couple are, but I was, once again, disappointed.

The leads had no chemistry together, and while I enjoy a couple with a teasing/bickering dynamic, they didn't do a good job in convincing me they could be in love. They don't actually bond over anything, they just argue a lot and suddenly they're falling for each other.

The acting here is also very subpar, only part of the supporting cast has a decent portrayal. While I feel that the ML at least tries, though, the actress of the FL was a disaster. It was almost painful to watch her acting, she had the emotional range of a lettuce, which in turn made it seem like her character had no personality at all. The only character trait I could notice from her is that she's immature and that's it.

There were one or two funny lines here and there and I kinda liked when they animated the games because one: at least there they didn't show the stupid plays they made and two: MOBA games can be a bit confusing to watch, specially for someone who never played one before, so the animation simplifies it to the general public. Also, even though I didn't care much about the leads, I gotta say the show shines the brightest when there's a scene between them, even if it's because every other aspect about the drama is seriously lacking.

Overall, I definitely wouldn't recommend this neither to rom-com fans, nor to any e-sports or MOBA fan/player.

Understanding children consent

' Falling into your smile' is based on e-sport , it shows how impactful gaming is , every character gave their passion and dedication in games they played . Like if we are so must intrested in something we love to do , we give our best till the end to success. But without parents support with their positive words we don't find happiness , it's like sumthing that is lacking in our life. So , no matter what job or salary or whatever it is every parents should understand and let their Children do what they like and support with positive words. This can bring a good relationship between them. This drama is so good that everyone should watch . The romance👩‍❤️‍👨 between chessman and smiling is so cute😘, they act so well👏👍 , best actor and actress should be given to them🏆. And yaaa.... not forgetting fatty kiss reaction 😂😂

EQUATION

Moved out from K dramas to watch something new and then got to know about this fascinating drama especially for all game lovers out there , the thing that attracted me the most is the equation between the character and make people know that girls can also be the professional e-sports player. The story lines seems so realistic and that fascinate me the most while watching its trailer . I loved the bubbly character of female protagonist as well her attitude towards her goal and of course if female lead is bubbly then there will be fierce ,rude but caring handsome male lead. This story also says about the fans and anti-fans and the pressure or problems faced by professional player to maintain both their personal and professional status and their tactics to overcome all difficulties and win for the nation. this drama includes all the things like: friendship, relationship, hatred , comedy, players, etc. So that's why I will highly recommend to watch this drama as a first or ongoing C drama. One cannot be bored of watching this.

Watch it for the gaming aspect

Even though I'm not an avid gamer, I'm still mesmerized by the e-sports world. I stumbled upon this drama when I was scrolling through Xu Kai's profile. I binge-watched it every day and loved the e-sports theme although its premise is nothing new in C-drama land, considering the success of previous e-sports dramas - The King's Avatar, Love 020, Gank Your Heart, and more.

The first half of the drama is quite engaging due to the gaming, but sadly the second half starts dragging and stresses in the relationship between the leads. The Onmyoji Arena game nearly resembles ML (Mobile Legends) but with different heroes- and that's the sole reason I continue to watch until got stuck in EP 19.

The other thing that I love the most from this drama is the brotherhood of the ZGDX team. Their funny and comedic banters are nice to watch and nothing cringy.

The chemistry between Lu Sicheng (Xu Kai) and Tong Yao (Cheng Xiao) is a hot and sizzling one - but, they lose it immediately after they got together. The FL and her ex-boyfriend's (Jian Yang portrayed by Zhai Xiaowen) arc aren't that necessary, thank goodness she didn't accept his apology and went on her own. There are other noteworthy annoying characters, so let me list them out. For instance, ML's mother, ML's blind date, and his little brother (I think he's a bit of a stalker).

The second couple is a fresh breeze to me. Chen Jin Yang (Rachel Wang) and Ai Jia (Zhou Yiran) did pretty well in their roles as a couple and the friends of the FL. Unfortunately, they had limited screentime. I wish they had focused on the second couple more.

If you're a fan of e-sports world, this might suit you, but beware of the second half of the drama. If you come here only for the romance, you can skip the gaming parts if it's too boring for you. I personally didn't find it boring, instead it was the romance which made me bored. The cinematography and the graphic of the game is mesmerizing and fabulous, so kudos to the CGI team. This is a good drama that shows the pressure faced by a professional gamer and delves into the depth of it. I wish I could complete it, but I decided to drop halfway. Anyway, there are many e-sports drama scattering outside. Best regards and happy watching (Don't take my review seriously. This is just my point of view of how this drama developed).

Xu Kai's first modern drama

I guess this would be the most awaited drama for me this year. Being the first modern drama Xu Kai ever acted, I was thrilled to watch it. As I watched some of the episodes I just can't get enough of it the whole cast is mind blowing, as well as the ost. The plot is kind of interesting as it focuses on women eSport players as well as it also focuses on love interest. Xu has done a great work along with Cheng Xiao to portray the character of a capable team leader. Though the drama is based on gaming as most of the drama these days but it has a different essence in it, with a proper cast , costumes, dialogues, sets. All in all its a drama worth watching. Being a drama based on games the drama also has surprises for the viewers as for the gaming part was a highlight with proper animation and AI technology , sometimes it really feels like you are watching an anime , well that was a plus point for me. I am currently enjoying the drama and really excited to watch the upcoming episodes and the romance between Xu kai and Cheng Xiao. I am really looking forward to the upcoming episodes and twists.
