Great to watch

A funny light yet well written. Great actor.
I loved it and I don't regret watching. In fact I wish they make another sequel.
The male lead is really good ?, I like all his dramas and he acts great in deep topics but I even liked him more in a light one.

Why do I have to write a review which is at least 500 characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it a homework ? this is really annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go go zombie detective ?️‍♂️

If you want to watch a series for fun, this is for you

This K-drama, "Zombie Detective", with Choi Jin Hyuk and Park Ju Hyun, was amazingly different, and winner. We loved this show, from the first episode through the 24th episode, always so appreciating the unusual take that the writers came up with, in creating this character. So very interesting, and many funny moments.
To the writers, directors, and producers of "Zombie Detective", honestly, 24 episodes is not enough. Please don't leave us hanging, do whatever it takes to get these actors and actresses re-signed for at least one more season.
In the middle of am isolated worldwide Pandemic, your show has helped many People smile and enjoy themselves. Thank you for caring about the Viewers, and have a good rest of the year

worth to watch!

I like the overall storyline but the ending could be better since i don't really like an open ending but don't get it wrong, the ending isn't that bad it just doesn't suit my taste. The story weighs somewhere in between, it isn't that heavy or light but for someone who doesn't like slow progress I did skip some unnecessary scenes, that's their only flaw I guess, I can't point out more since I kind of enjoy it along the way. The scenes are predictable, there are plot twists, they're just not big enough to surprise you.
If you are looking for a heavy romance storyline this isn't for you but the male lead and female lead surely make you want to ship them. The casts really did a great job for their acting, definitely 10/10!
I really would love to give this drama a higher rating but since the ending did not satisfy me and gave a lot of (skippable) unnecessary scenes , generously thats the highest I can give. Worth to watch but don't put it in your priority to watch list though.

Light-hearted comedy without being too over-the-top.

On netflix this show has 12 episodes, but on here it's listed as having 24. For this review I am using Netflix's episode set up.

I went into this show expecting it to be "so bad it's good", but found out it was actually just a good show with a ridiculous premise. The pacing was great (up until the very last episode) and the comedy was perfect. It's not a "mystery" show, as it is very obvious, but it still feels satisfying to watch even when you're 99% sure you know what's going to happen next.

The main storyline seems to end with episode 8. This is a reasonable point to stop watching, if you want to. I found the rest of the show to be enjoyable, but it would have felt much more satisfying to end it after episode 8.

It ended again in episode 12. This ending felt very rushed, and although they wrapped everything up neatly, they used the last 10mins to do that stupid "next season teaser" that has invaded every show and movie in the past decade.

No further episodes available on netflix.

Surprisingly fun!

I read a review by someone else and decided to give this show a try. THEN I realized that Choi Jin Hyuk was in it, and I wondered if I'd been living under a rock!

Choi Jin Hyuk could read a cereal box and I'd be all in. He was terrific in this role. His deep, wonderful voice is a given. What I didn't realize was that he can be really funny. He is really good at micro-expressions, especially in the first part of the show. When he was trying to become more human, I just cracked up! A zombie on a treadmill will never not be funny.

I thought this show was extremely funny, until it wasn't. Midway through, the tone turned pretty dark, which I could have done without, but after all, it is a show about a zombie.

The supporting characters were just that - a bunch of characters! The rival detectives were a hoot, and the FL was sometimes irritating, but I appreciated her more once they became partners. And the FL's family? Too funny.

So, if you want a show that you can watch and turn off your brain for a bit, you might like this one. I know I did.

This zombie is sexy af

The first two episodes are bad. Although what they tell is interesting, they are slow and boring. I was about to let go. Then luckily a review here on mydramalist convinced me to go on. And now that I've finished it, I'm satisfied. I had fun! The investigations are full of suspense and the twists and turns are unexpected. ML as a zombie is great. Sexy af and a lot of fun. The chemistry between ML and FL isn't bad either. It is not a true love story but they are cute. I could have given a higher score to this drama if it hadn't been for the "comical" duo, the two neighboring detectives. I did not like their comedy and serve no purpose in the beginning. so I skipped all of their scenes, except in the 2-3 last episodes when they become important.

Come for Choi Jin-Hyuk in eyeliner, stay for the story and acring.

I think Choi Jin Hyuk was a great casting decision, he's tall, thin and looks pretty fetching with black eyeliner and green contacts. He made a convincingly attractive zombie. And he displays some good versatility in this role, there's parts where he's very serious, very emotional, and there's also a lot of physical comedy that he proves really good at doing.

This is my first time seeing Park Jo-Hyun in a role, In the very beginning I thought her character was going to be one of those that are always running into trouble and chaos because of bad decisions. But a few episodes in she proves to be really resourceful, persistent and really good at detctive work. I ended up really liking her character. The actress herself has an adorably sweet face, gave a solid performance and I hope she gets cast in more things.

For a series about zombies there wasn't too much gore, there wasn't much romance either, though the two main leads definitely liked each other. They left the ending playfully Open that they might work again together and might be able to find a resolution that would allow them to be together.

And it felt like they kept the momentum going pretty well throughout, I wasn't watching any episodes feeling like they just threw things together to meet the number of episodes. It didn't move me in any particular way, but it was in general a pleasant watching experience.

For a zombie or a human, life never goes as one wishes

The concept of a zombie having a consciousness and morals takes me back to my fondness for the film Warm Bodies (2013). Although the conscious zombie concept has been explored before, its refreshing to see the concept in a Sherlock Holmes type of comedy drama series.

Some comedic scenes were a bit goofy, but it did not overshadow the mystery aspect of the unresolved murder cases. Although the series has its upbeat and funny moments, when it takes a serious approach, the story makes you reflect on what truly makes human beings "human". With or without morals, the various cases paints scenarios on the beautiful and dark side of humanity.

If you are seeking a comedy mystery drama with slight action that takes a different approach from the mainstream depiction of zombies, then I would recommend this series.

Very silly

The whole show is very silly so if that’s what you like you’ll take enjoyment out of it like I did but if you’re looking for a well planned out plot with deep meaning you can skip this one. Although I found it really funny at times it has a lot of goofy behaviours from the cast that can be childish at times, over the top or just straight up make no sense.

What really annoyed me though is in the beginning it shows how when the main character woke up he wasn’t able to do simple things like walk and talk and he moved really slow. He had to work really hard by watching movies and walking on a treadmill to be able to do simple things like that before he went out into the city but when the villain of the show turned into a zombie on the last episode he was walking, talking, carrying people around and fighting? It really annoyed me because it was obvious they just through the original rules out of the window so that he could kidnap the female lead and there could be a cool zombie fight at the end. There are a couple inconsistencies like this littered through out the show so if you can watch it and enjoy it without really caring about it not being very clear I think it’s a fun little drama to watch to pass the time but I wouldn’t necessarily say I recommend it.

Don't think about it

The whole premise of this is pretty goofy in a comic book way but I like that. I watched this show a few times last year before netflix took it down.
The first several episodes were pretty entertaining in a fun sort of way then it tried to get into the bigger part of the plot and it floundered a bit. I was a little disappointed in the ML's back story because it was set up to be a bit more exciting. He was too brutal of a fighter to be what he was. I was expecting something more political, even underground, which is what the plot tried to do eventually, and I kind of wish it was but that's when I learn that this is a 'don't think about it' kind of show because that's how it ends. It has a pretty ridiculous ending, a complete ending for the actual plot used but one that left me feeling a little, meh, you could have done more with that. It was also left open a little in the case of a season 2 and trying to force a romance between the leads.

I did not care for the brother's scenes. I skipped him. His pitches were meant to be seen as humour filling in the gaps but it didn't appeal to me.

As for the villains, one seems sort of legitimate and the other was melodrama. Both at least had a part to play in the ML's past so there's that.
The side characters were the usual random, cartoonish side characters I'm used to by now so they are what they are. I don't really have much of an opinion on them.
The other ML was also just sad to watch honestly and the FL was the usual ditzy but will get the job done sort of lead.

I remember only rewatching the first half of the show for fun because I just enjoyed the idea of a zombie trying to exist in the real world without getting caught. I was more entertained by the lead up to the actual plot than the actual plot.

I also really enjoyed the visuals. The opening scene with the yellow and red looked awesome, with the Moonlight sonata playing, and I wish they had kept that gritty, comic look through out to go with the mad scientist but they eventually drop it as they try to get more emotional.
