In the Spring of 2014, Nagaura Momone, who grew up on a remote island in Kesennuma City, is staying at the home of Nitta Sayaka after graduating from high school. She's started working as an apprentice of the forestry association alongside Sayaka, her grandfather's old friend. While she learns about mountains and trees, her parents worry about her leaving home.
