The day after Koji arrives, a group of elementary school students visit the forest union. Sayaka arranges for Koji to observe Mone at work. Mone is a little overwhelmed by the children but explains forestry and lumber to them. Seeing his daughter working so vigorously, Koji remembers the day that Mone said she wanted to leave their island home.
