The story was just terrible. Most of the drama was just Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye running from each other then running right back together. It made the character development and story line just implode upon itself. When I first started the drama, I was excited to see Lee Min Ho after watching Boys Over Flowers but I started to hate his character and his acting in The Heirs.

First off, the writer makes Kim Tan seem like a selfish guy who is obsessed with Cha Eun Sang. He keeps swearing to protect her but everyone knows all it does is just make matters worse. His vow to protect her seems to be just a sort of obsessive control he wants to have over her. His acting of being cute at some parts made me cringe even though I wanted to enjoy it because it was just so disgusting for his character. I think his character and acting in Boys Over Flowers was much more pleasant. His character there was written cutely and maturely: Gu Jun Pyo knew when to let go and didn't try to get back with Jan Di within 20 minutes of the same episode.

Secondly, my attention was definitely caught by Kim Woo Bin. I ended up watching the drama for him. He portrays his character pretty well even though his character is very cruel. Many people say his actions can't be justified but if you think about it, he really doesn't know how to express his feelings properly. He's just like a little kid that wants someone's (Cha Eun Sang's) attention so he'll do even mean things to get it. I feel that his means actions toward Eun Sang arise from Eun Sang misunderstanding him. People don't consider the bully being a victim him/herself.

I feel like most of the characters were just thrown in as accessories and suddenly had huge developments within one or two episodes whereas the rest of the screen time is given to Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho to stare at each other. Krystal Jung overacted but I got used to it and later found her and some of the other character parts to be good comedic reliefs from the overly dramatic and boring main couple.

Also, I liked Kim Ji Won's portrayal of the character Rachael. I think she did a really good job and it showed because I thought the character Rachael was very cold and mean.

I'm giving this a harsh review because when I heard about the many actors and actresses taking part in this drama, my expectations were really high. Although I know that I would be in for a lot of cliche moments because it's the same writer of Secret Garden which had soo many cheesy moments. The story line for this drama was flat, cliche, typical and lacked that finesse that engages me to new dramas. It was also very messy because of how they structured the drama. They started off with a very slow introduction and tried to bunch and rush everything towards the end which made it unclear for viewers. The ending was very boring as well, there was nothing to excite us.

In this drama there were so many big shot actors all in one for which impacted the many watching audiences:

Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye)
As much as I love Park Shin Hye as an actor I found her character very annoying. This is because of her constantly crying whenever she faces a problem in her life, or just crying after see Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho). But if she was aiming for that type of character I applaud her for that.

Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho)
Lee Min Ho playing Kim Tan was pretty good because of how he would always want to stick to his brother, having no clue of what's going on within the business because of his young age. However, he kept cockblocking the relationship between Cha Eun Sang and Choi Young Do for which I would like to see further develop.

Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin)
Oh gosh, did I love Kim Woo Bin's character in this drama. The different emotions he used to express each and everything showed perfectly well on his face. However, I feel as though if the relationship between Choi Young Do and Cha Eun Sang were to further develop it would add some extra excitement.

Lee Bo Na (Krsytal) & Yoon Chan Young (Kang Min Hyuk)
This is one of my favourite couples the were so cute and funny.

Lee Hyo Shin (Kang Ha Neul)
He acted out his character extremely well with the different emotions shown in this drama from: Mysterious -> dorky -> angry -> jealousy there were so many emotions he displayed wonderfully.

Kim Won (Choi Jin Hyuk)
He played the role of an elder brother, step in company owner and a lover extremely well. I loved how he could show different personalities to his character.

Jo Myung-soo (Park Hyung Shik)
asdfghjkl;' He was too adorable in this drama I could see the many bromances forming with him. ><

Han Ki-Ae (Kim Sung-Ryoung)& Park Hee-Nam (Kim Mi-Kyung)
OMFG these mothers were one of my favourites! They were humorous, cute and dorky. I also applaud Kim Mi-Kyung for not speaking throughout this whole drama, other than narrating :L

Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji Won)
She did amazingly well! Playing the antagonist in this drama simply brilliant.

As or music wise, it did sound really nice at the beginning but they just kept replaying the tracks over and over again when there was any chance possible. Which made it especially cheesy.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't watch this again, it was very confusing and lacked finesse therefore I would give it an overall score of 6.

Sorry if I did offend anyone with my review but as mentioned before I had my expectations up really high. Also is it just me or did Cha Eun Sang cry in at lest 18 of the 20 episodes?

Spoiler free review!

I was really excited for this drama, I waited so long for this to air and I wasn't expecting anything amazing but I was hoping It would have been at least decent but what did we get? well.. uh.. this

characters:
Eh, main characters were pretty basic. Eun Sang was extremely boring to watch I'm pretty sure she is number 1 on my most boring characters list but just wow such a boring character, basically no personality at all whatsoever so I was really annoyed when watching her.. supporting characters were actually a lot better than the main characters I began to only watch this for the supporting characters because they had a lot more personality and were actually interesting to watch! So if you're expecting really well developed main characters then don't bother, BUT I did really like watching Kim Tans mom Eun Sangs mom, they were hilarious.

story:
It was decent I guess nothing amazing It' basically rich guy poor girl with a lot of drama I can't really say anything more because It would be a spoiler

overall:
I was really disappointed in this I would not rewatch or recommend this to anyone looking for something interesting to watch It's basically boys over flowers 2.. expect boys over flowers was actually better and I didn't really like that much at all! the main characters were really badly developed and It was just basically a cliche show with really cliche main characters .. But amazing eye candy and nice filming locations I'm pretty sure this had a high budget.

notes:
This is my personal opinion on the show
this is my first review so It's not great
My English is really bad please mind that

First of i'm extremely happy this show finally ended, it was over hyped, the casting was wasted with bad writing, and i will never watch such a drama again. I through with these pounding of cliches, like I cringed at the repetitive actions of the characters.
What I Liked
> they showed a more melodramatic experience of high-school
> the cast was amazing and did what they could with their parts
> they had enough cuteness in every episode to watch if you wanted something to do
> The way for the first time the bad boy was explained so thoroughly i fell for him rather than the lead
> They cried and expressed their sadness well
What I Didn't Like
> the wast of ALL the minor characters, like why did people end up the way they did, that was never answered
> the way the love triangle wasn't even one, the feelings were never reciprocated all all
> the long stares and the terrible OST like ohh god! if i ever hear "LOVE IS THE MOMENT" again i will bust someone's head
> the lack of story, it went in circles, and felt soo dead
And Last
I didn't really enjoy the drama as much as i had hoped, It started okay but it went downhill from there, idk what the writer was trying to accomplish but i just wasn't feeling it. Those of you who love the cast, the ost, the acting, the chemistry then please continue too; but one things for sure it was quite a ride after 10 weeks, but at least everyone got some kind of lovin':) Cheers

I get where the writers were trying to go with this drama, but I don't think it was executed very well. First, the development of the story and the characters was too slow. I take points off because they had to "narrate" at the end to explain the point of the drama when they could have used more plot and character development to explain. When a writer has to do that, then I feel the story wasn't developed well.

As for the acting, I think all of the actors did a great job with their characters. None of them really looked like high school students, but it didn't matter. It was pretty much an all star cast. Too bad the veteran actresses stole the show. Kim Ki Kyung as Eun Sang's mom and Kim Sung Ryung as Kim Tan's mom were just too funny and their relationship was fully developed and fun to watch. I enjoyed their part in the drama the most.

The music for the most part was just horrible.

I won't rewatch this.

If you are looking for something that doesn't make you think and you want to see hot guys...Lee Min Ho, Kim Woo Bin, Choi Jin Hyuk, Kang Ha Neul, etc...then this is the drama to watch.

I went into this drama expecting a lighter, fresher version of Boys Before Flowers; a nice Goo Joon Pyo, a little drama, and lots of flower boys catching my eye throughout the entire show...boy, was I wrong. Not about the flower boys, of course, but the story. It was interesting, but it didn't grab me, like I was expecting. I found myself rooting for the second lead, and the side characters more than the main couple. Park Shin Hye was in her element here, but I expect that at this point she could act this character in her sleep; the same goes with Lee Min Ho. Now don't get me wrong, I have watched several dramas just because of these two, and I've enjoyed them; it just seemed that the main couple was going through a been there, done that story line. I kept watching, however, because of the mothers, and Young Do. They were a constant source of amusement, and joy, everytime they were on the screen, and if you watch this show(which many of you have) I hope you'll see the fun in this show is to be had in the secondary cast. The music was okay, but the main song was not as good as what I was expecting with such a well known, can't wait to see it drama. I don't think I'd rewatch this, but I will tell my friends about some of the funnier things that happened, and about the scary, crazy clothes that Lee Min Ho was subjected to. Overall, Heirs was a decent drama, but not worth the hype; if you do watch, watch for Kim Woo Bin, excellent acting...and what made this drama worth finishing, besides waiting to see which sweater poor Kim Tan gets forced to wear.

I'm honestly surprised I made it to the end because I thought when I started I wouldn't be hear till the end. I honestly heard about heirs when it was 14 episodes in. I was told it was bloody awful and I would seriously hate it, but surprise surprise, it is an addictive mess that I might recommend. I think it's my lack of expectations but I enjoyed it. There's a lot of bashing and trolling which I think is based on the fact that a lot of people think this is similar to Boys Over Flowers which was pretty damn awful, but it's not quite.

Indeed, a heck of a lot of first world problems but the story is still interesting. I would love to say the characters are interesting but Kim Tan played by Lee Min Ho, is dull uninteresting and a character we have to take at face value. He lacks any real power or motivation that I am an emotional rock to his pain and even when he's taking action, it just feels very face value. He never in the end has to work hard to make things happen. Eunsang is equally dull and boring and so devoid of power, it's frightening. She almost makes no decision herself. She is dragged around and toyed with everywhere. She is also either bipolar or strange. There are moments she seems genuinely frightened at Young Do to the point of shaking then the next moment she is lecturing him, making us confused. No worries though, should she be in any real trouble there are countless men willing to save her.

The saving grace is Young Do and it's not because I like Kim Woo Bin because I genuinely liked Young Do's character. He's a self aware mess. He's very aware of his flaws but he still makes no attempt to fix them because he's not ready to acknowledge his pain. It makes for a compelling character who's flawed yet to some extent understandable.

The best part of the series are the last three episodes, not because the series ends but the directing is stellar, the acting picks up a notch and the script really delivers. There are very simple and poignant moments that transcend this drama from being a guilty pleasure to genuinely enjoyable.

However, overall, points were docked for my indifference to the two main characters and a lot of this cast. Some nonsensical plot devices and character changes. There was just a lot honestly, that didn't necessarily need to be there. I must also admit, at the end the conflicts were kind of unnecessary and also nonsensical.

This review may contain spoilers
First of all,I'm surprise at myself because I finished this kinda drama without a pause in the middle of the story like I usually did by marathoning a drama of this 'kind'.I guess this is the effect of Woo Bin &Jin Hyuk had on me :P

To make things easier I'll just write what I like and dislike from He Who Wears the Crown, Endure Its Weight *I think if there's an award of the longest/most drama name,Heirs will win.Clap3x!* WARNING:may contain a little spoiler.

What I like from Heirs:

1)Kim Woo Bin
2)Choi Jin Hyuk
3)Choi Young Do(Kim Woo Bin's character)I love his character as a bad boy in Heirs. He played this role successfully.I know he'll be the next big star when I first discovered him in AGD.That's my oppa! ^^o (just forgive/ignore my fangirl words)
4)Chan Young &Bo Na couple. This couple never fail in making me laugh in every scene they're in.They're the only couple that I always looking forward to in Heirs.
5) Kim Tan's true mother. I think that she's the best mom ever exist in k-dramaland.Her character unlike those annoying typical rich moms in this land. She's funny, beautiful, elegant & honest to her feeling.
6)Bromance between Young Do&Kim Tan, Kim Tan &Kim Won.

What I dislike from Heirs:

1)Lee Min Ho as Kim Tan. He's chincha2 too old to act as a 18 years old kid when his real age is 26 and I can see the age when I see him here (Maybe I can consider if he have a babyface but the truth is, he's not..)Just please stop playing this kinda role Min Ho ya.
2)Park Shin Hye's character. Weak and always crying, that made me feel immune already to any sad feeling whenever the melodrama element is being played. And nothing much happened to her character.Such a boring and underdeveloped character for a lead lady.
3)Love is the moment song! How much I hate hearing it whenever this song being played. Why could'nt they make a better song than this? If they've succeed to cast all the best actors out there why can't they take in the best composer or whatever that can contribute for a better OST :S None of the OST hardly catch my inner feeling. That's the reason I gave 4 for the music.
4)The storyline.I really2 don't know what happened to the writer while writing this drama.I really loved 3 drama of her previous work though. It's like the burden of having too many big hotzz handsomezz actors playing her piece eating her writer's mind inside. I also think she focus too much on building a good dialogue rather than a good storyline.I praise Heirs for it's comedic element only. Also, there's nothing new to the story as we already seen it before in countless of drama with Chaebol as a center of the story. A chaebol's heir fall in love with a poor heroin but mr daddy did'nt like poor girl dating his son and forsure trying to split them, love triangle etc..

That's all.Watch this if you're a fan of Lee Min Ho/Kim Woo Bin/Choi Jin Hyuk/Park Shin Hye/Kang Ha Neul/Kang Min Hyuk or Krystal only. Because you might drop this drama if you're not. Thanks for reading my 2 cents :)

I watched this show due to the ratings and the cast. Sadly, the show didn't meet my expectations. This show is 20 episodes of extended music video. I had to skip through a lot of scenes due to the long-shot-music-on moments. The story line was poorly written, predictable and overly dragged. It was like an ill remake of Boys Over Flowers or something of the same plot.

I knew coming in that this was going to be a cheesy teen romance drama, so luckily I didn't set myself up to be disappointed. That being said, it was still entertaining enough for me to watch till the end. Not a horrible drama, but not that great either.

So, let's get the bad things out of the way first. The story was awful. Nothing really happened. It was a big circle with lots of little circles in it. The narration at the end even says something like "not much has changed," and I agree. A few things get a little better, a few things get worse, but mostly nothing's different. Another problem with it was that there were way too many characters. It made it hard for any of them to have time to be fully developed. The music was awful and annoying. Not much more I can say about it besides that. And a lot of the costumes were horrible. (*cough*uglysweaters*cough*)

Now, on to the characters. This is kind of a gray area as far as good or bad. I really couldn't get into the leads at all. Kim Tan was a character I had a hard time rooting for. It's a pity because I actually liked Lee Min Ho's acting despite the character he had to work with. The kid's acting improves with each drama he's in. Cha Eun Sang was pretty much just your typical cliche female lead. There wasn't much chemistry between them either. t lot of the parents were annoying and just there to cause drama. There were so many wasted characters, like big bro Won and his love interest.

But then there were the characters who made up for the awful ones. So many amazing characters! Characters who kept me watching through the crappy storyline. Choi Young Do was the best character. A bit psychotic, but still the best. I didn't ship him with Eun Sang or anything, but I loved every scene he was in. And Kim Woo Bin did an amazing job playing him. I really think that boy needs the chance at a lead. Chan Young and Bo Na were also my favorites. Such a cute couple and really good friends to everyone. I loved the relationship between Tan and Eun Sang's mothers. Hyo Shin was a great character who I wish would've been given more chance to develop. Overall, a really great supporting cast.

So, basically, dumb story, boring leads, but an amazing supporting cast who kept the whole thing from falling apart. I'll probably never re-watch it, but Heirs was fun while it lasted.

After going through 20 episodes of one of the hottest dramas last year, I have to admit I am slightly disappointed.
The cast was brilliant from the first sight and that was the main reason for me to watch it. Kim WooBin, Lee MinHo, Choi JiHyuk, Kang HaNeun and idol-actors C.N Blue’s MinHyuk, ZE:A’s HyungShik and f(x) Krystal were the ones I really wanted to see and most of them did not leave me disappointed in their acting, despite the over-all disappointment about the drama.
Per example, neither WooBin nor MinHo looks 18, and that was really a ‘what on earth’ moment for me. They both look at least 20-24 years old and way out of high-teen dramas, but that could only be me.
I do want to say that I am very, very pleased with WooBin’s acting and he and his character YoungDo were the ones that actually made me watch this to the end. YoungDo was one of the two characters (other being Choi JiHyuk’s Kim Won) who had any kind of development and growth during the drama and actually evolved, while the rest stayed the same trough-out everything.
Idol-actors did an excellent job and scenes with them were amusing, interesting and sincere and I do hope they will get more acting chances in the future. They have something in them – especially HyungShik, who could really pull off some main comical characters in new high-teen dramas – and I do wish to see more of them.
Apart from the cast, which was great and did a great job, the story itself was very mediocre and highly cliché. A poor girl gets courted by two high-class hunks and she, of course, chooses only one leaving other heartbroken. Then we have the evil family, the status/money issues and mean girls getting their mean deeds done. A memory lost and an unreasonable time jump of 2-4 years was the only one’s missing to make this a true cliché masterpiece.
To add to the upper mentioned cliché, we can even see that ONE OST song, that is played SO often it drills to your brain (like “Almost Paradise” in “Boys Before Flowers”) and here it was “Love is the Moment”. The song on its own is fine and 2AM’s ChangMin’s voice is wonderful, but the song in the drama is overused.
I don’t should I add EunSang’s (played by Park ShinHye) constant crying in every.single.episode, but I sure as hell found it really annoying and as disturbing as Tan’s (Lee MinHo) extra creepy way of courting a girl.
Over all, the drama was rather dry, predictable and only the end when the actual business issues appeared was interesting. I might even say, I would not recommend this to anyone, maybe only because of WooBin, to watch his acting skills, but that’s about it.

I think they should have put this as the main title for Heirs He Who Wishes To Wear the Crown, Must Endure Its Weight. It fits the drama perfectly.

They said it themselves. You who casts A-list K-actors and K-actresses and make a plot full of rubbish must endure the criticism. Hand grabbing, back hugs, intense stares, abusive parents, and bad acting. That is this show to the core. I'm not going to sugarcoat it.

I went into Heirs as a #1 fan of Lee Min Ho. I watched this drama and I was stunned. Stunned by gorgeous Lee Min Ho....NO. Stunned by how bad his acting was. I couldn't even look at times because I felt I had been cheated into watching Lee Min Ho look like a fool but no it was all him. The guy may look like a million bucks but he sure can't ACT. Being a actor you have to know how to act right? If anyone is saying no right now. I know just the drama for you Boys Before Flowers. Wait what is the difference between BOF and Heirs?? Nothing really.....Same plot, same lead actor....you see were I am going with this.

Park Shin Hye..............god.....her acting also...just no.....not good at all. I don't really even want to describe it....her character in this story has no sense of herself. Also she gets pushed around like a rag doll....no one can like a character like that.

Kim Woo Bin at least he can act. I'm sorry but it's true at least he can! What would we have done without him in this drama....honestly I don't know...because it seemed like he was the only one really ACTING in this drama. His character also wasn't the best but he did the best he could...considering the writer made the character a creepy, stalker, bully.

Why do we watch dramas? To see a good plot, full of well developed characters...maybe something fun. I don't watch the drama if the people CAN'T ACT. As simple as that.

Those who enjoyed this show did not enjoy the plot but the viewing of their favorite A list K-celeb.

The few things which held this show in place were disregarded throughout the series (Kim Woo Bin) which made this show even harder to watch.

The k-pop idol actors I could care less about.....

What I'm trying to say is if you want to see your favorite k-celeb look like a fool go ahead if you don't want that DO NOT WATCH THIS DRAMA.
