Could have been longer

As always, these rambles are just my thoughts and opinions, and not intended to upset or offend anyone.

In all honesty, I’m a little bored with dystopian/apocalyptic shows and movies. Perhaps it’s to do with the age we are living in not feeling all too distant to them, but it’s a little over done. However, I am glad I gave this little series a chance because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There were vibes of Sabikui Bisco, Snowpiercer, Tank Girl and Mad Max, so it did feel like it was catered to my tastes, but it also managed to stand on it’s own two feet.

The basic summary is in the future oxygen is scarce, and controlled by a large company in the Korean Peninsula. Delivery men are tasked with going into the wastelands to deliver oxygen and supplies - and to battle with scavengers and thugs. A small group of rebels within the delivery men are fighting against the oppression caused by the company they work for, trying to bring equality to everyone, all whilst the son of the CEO tries to kill off all refugees.

One issue is that the show was too short. I feel like it could have benefited from more world building, perhaps to let us get more acquainted with the situation and the characters. That’s not to say I didn’t empathise with the main characters, but I would have liked to have had more history.

The action sequences were fantastic, and the effects were entertaining. I had a lot of love for the refugees on the outskirts of the main districts, especially Grandpa and his little group of rascals. You could really feel the affection within the group, as well as the delivery men - the found family trope was alive and kicking.

This is definitely worth a watch.

It's good but I personally expected more.

Well I'm not into essay type things,,, so for me the best part was the acting . I'll say if you want a little bit thrill it's good too go but don't expect too much as I did . The concept was very interesting and had much more capabilities but they decided to keep it simple and short yet not disappointing.
As for the cast Woobin as 5-8 is the best thing tha can happen (he is the actual reason I started this drama). Sa-wol's character development was a bit confusing to me (as normally he is portrayed as smart but he did some stupid things) still him and his friends were one of the good parts .

Review: Black Knight (2023)

When I watch Kdramas I do it with the idea that I’m here to be entertained and I’m not here to criticise the making of the series. If I feel happy and the story flows my way. I like it. If the story is fragmented or boring I just leave and go watch another. Often you have to use your imagination to fill in the gaps. It is after all a work of fiction. This is only a 6 episode series so it is filled with gaps but I find it still understandable and interesting. You know it is my fave genre, Science fiction fantasy, here this is a future polluted world. So far I like it. It leaves enough clues for me to fill in the gaps.

5-8 is like a deliveryman warrior who is suddenly thrust into a mystery of these disappearing youth. They have been kidnapped. He becomes involved because one of the victims is known to him. He also becomes subtlely accused of the crime of a kidnapping gone wrong and the victim is killed. He is the first one on the scene and saves the refugee who was in the house almost fatally wounded.

He begins his own investigation. For myself it is intriguing because it is easy to see that these events could happen. The refugee(Kang Yoo Seok Sa Wol) he rescues want to become a deliveryman like him. 5-8 sponsored and trains him for the job. The tests ( Kang Yoo Seok
Sa Wol)goes through are brutal and life threatening but he manages to get into the finals.

He has to fight a much stronger and bigger man. It is a no holds barred fight. I leave to you to find out the result. The whole world is watching and waiting. Meanwhile 5-8 is trying to track down what has happened to the kidnapped youth.

The fight reminds me of Lee Joon Gi fighting the bigger man on “Again my Life”

All of the delivery men are too late.

I really like this Kdrama, exciting and holds my interest. The fighting is brutal and the story line adequate. Watch it if you want to see and dynamic, fast moving and gripping short adventure….only 6 episodes.

As it nears the end I get really anxious for the deliverymen as they are on the wrong side of the law. Will they be eliminated? The last episode is a tough one to watch. It’s a scary and tense watch.

This is kdrama not America .....where the main actor always wins. Keep your cool and keep watching to the end.

Kim Woo-bin voltou muito bem

É bem produzido este seriado, ótimo visual, gostei dos efeitos, porém a premissa é boba e com tanta coisa acontecendo no mundo a Coreia ja falou sobre escasses de agua foi parar no espaço e acabou criando um novo ser e agora acabou o oxigenio e houve mais matança, o que mais eles vão criar? Enfim sem mais delongas.
É interessante notar que em muitos filmes e séries pós-apocalípticos, a logística de transporte é muitas vezes ignorada ou mal explicada. Em "O Mar da Tranquilidade", por exemplo, há um grande foco na exploração espacial, mas pouco se fala sobre como a sociedade conseguiu manter uma rede de abastecimento eficiente durante a colonização de Marte.
Se entregadores entregam coisas tão importantes a sobrevivência dos humanos, porque andam desta forma tendo de lidar sozinhos contra saqueadores cruzando desertos ? Qualquer linha de abastecimento é protegida a todo custo, haveria de ser um comboio cheio de gente armada fazendo estas entregas.
Mas ai, se tem máquinas neste mundo, só sobraram carros ? Não tem aviões ou helicópteros para fazer estas entregas tão importantes? Vai de helicóptero, avião, usa drone de entrega?
Um Krama estrelado por Kim Woo-Bin depois de tanta lutas na saude, voltou quebrando tudo e que eu quase não o reconheci de tão lindo, uma curiosidade este dorama tem apenas 6 capitulos. A história se passa após um asteroide gigante ter atingido a terra e ter uma densa quantidade de poeira nos céus, onde a vida terrestre acabou e o ar se tornou inspirável, onde todos tem que usar máscaras e as casas necessitam que tenha que ser alimentado com oxigênio. Uma grande corporação controla tudo. E fazem experimentos com crianças para encontrar aqueles que sejam imunes. Existem os entregadores de oxigênio que são as pessoas mais respeitadas pela sociedade e Kim é um deles. Além disso ele também é um revolucionário que é contra a politica adotada, além de estar procurando as crianças desaparecidas. Para isso ele tem a ajuda de seus amigos motoristas. Contra o lider da corporação Ryu Seok, que quer manter o povo em estado miséria, escravidão e matando o povo. E temos Sa-wol um jovem que sonha em ser um entregador. Mas ele também guarda um segredo que é ser o garoto que Ryu esta a procura, aquele que é imune. Porém ele não sabe e descobre quando estão em sua busca pelo esquadrão de Ryu. E assim vai toda a trama com muita ação, luta e articulações. Um CGI que não empolga, não é como Sadman ou Wittcher. A atuação dos atores parece meio que uma plástica sintética. Se compararmos com outro seriado “O Mar da Tranquilidade” que é uma ficção, mas se compararmos os 2 vemos uma grande diferença, tanto no roteiro e enredo.
No entanto, é importante lembrar que essas histórias são ficcionais e muitas vezes exigem uma suspensão de descrença por parte do espectador. Afinal, se todos os problemas logísticos fossem resolvidos de forma realista, a trama provavelmente seria menos emocionante.
Porém, existem outras histórias que abordam a logística de forma mais realista, como o K-drama mencionado. Além disso, a trama parece abordar temas importantes, como a luta contra uma corporação opressora e a busca pela cura de uma doença mortal.
No final das contas, a decisão de assistir ou não a um determinado programa depende dos gostos pessoais de cada um. Mas é sempre interessante analisar como a logística é abordada em diferentes histórias e como isso pode afetar a verossimilhança da trama.

hunger games porém baseado em algo que "pode acontecer"

Amei a maneira sutil mas ao mesmo tempo escancarada da representação de jogos vorazes na series... tudo desde os distritos até a cidade perfeita que lembra os jogos. Porém há muitas críticas principalmente aquelas onde o governo só dá aos que já tem e não se importam muito com os que precisam, e fazem movimentos como se fossem para ajuda-los mas na verdade só estão se beneficiando... entre outras.
até a estética do filme lembra muito jogos vorazes, o lugar onde o "presidente" mora me lembrou aquela cena em que eles estão fugindo de uma tinta preta e entram no prédio... as escadarias também tem as escadarias que além de mostrar o quão em controle o presidente está elas também baseiam nos distritos assim como em jogos vorazes.
gostei muito dos detalhes que foram pensados como as pessoas que vivem em lugares com baixo oxigênio ou muita poluição e lugar com muita areia tem sardas, já que tudo isso mais alguns fatores faz isso acontecer com a pele e já as pessoas que moram no lugar privilegiado (distrito central) não tem nada no rosto ou quase nada.

achei o final simples mas talvez seja pela probabilidade de uma 2° temporada.
é isso o meu review😄

obs: pode ter sido coisa da minha cabeça mas mais alguém percebeu que na gravata do presidente tem o símbolo do bts?

Distópico

Que drama incrível! Eu sou muito apaixonada por distopias então a entrega que foi Black knight do começo ao fim me conquistou muito, amei toda a história, amei os personagens, o desenvolvimento, o clímax de o ar estar sendo poluído por ele mesmo e o final apesar de "corrido" eu gostei, óbvio que como toda distopia que parece que gostam deixam a gente a imaginar de depois de resolver como eles vão fazer pra mudança surtir efeito, pelo menos os refugiados vão ter um lugar. Tivemos as mortes marcantes mas que fizeram total sentido pra história, só senti falta de falar mais sobre os mutantes, deixou em aberto e nem explicou tanto sobre eles além de serem filhos do pessoal que trabalhavam nas minas.
Enfim, valeu muito a pena!!! E eu simplesmente amo todos os atores que estavam nesse drama, não tinha erro.

A good distopic but nothing else

Wanted to watch this title as soon as was announced from Netflix at the start of this year, as a forever lover of dystopian movies, I was thrilled to see something in a drama form.
The ambientation in itself is honestly good and the story is actually really good, but doesn't develop that much and a second season would be honestly completely unnecessary. Everything revolves around a revenge kind group of rebels that want to reunite their world (the poor uninhabitable one) with the elite world (rich people, good air and great jobs). But overall, the story doesn't go beyond that, and everything is rushed in the last two episodes

Obrigada Kim Woo Bin

Eu senti uma vibe WALL-E e Mad Max, vi a sala do professor Xavier, uma pitada de Maze Runner e algo bem The Hunger Games (capital/distritos). Gosto do gênero Sci-Fi com ação, e esse foi bem legal. Kim Woo Bin entregou tudo! Poderiam ter feitos mais eps pra aprofundar mais na história. Mas no geral muito bom!

Fantasy ambientato in un mondo apocalittico!

Ero curiosa e poi il cast mi piace e mi è piaciuto molto e ho deciso che anche se non è il mio genere dovevo provare a vederlo.Sinceramente non sapevo niente ne della trama ne che fosse tratto da un web ton pero si capisce da subito che è quel genere. Non mi è dispiaciuto la visione.
La storia è ambientata in un mondo post apocalittico dove soltanto il 1% della popolazione è sopravvissuto e ci sono delle divisioni ben distinte dove i ricchi sopravvivono bene e ci sono poi i rifugiati.Una storia fantasy dove i corrieri diventano le persone importanti e salvatori .C'è il 58 che è una specie di supereroe poi tra i rifugiati c'è un gruppo di strambi simpatici e buffi è un ragazzo speciale che farà l'impossibile per diventare un corriere.C'è il cattivo senza scrupoli.
È un action drama abbastanza sanguinolento.
Cast fantastico e interpretazione fantastica di tutti.
Anche se non amate il genere vale la pena vederlo diverso ma bello e poi la visione e coinvolgente e score veloce.

Synopsis

In the future, 5-8 (Kim woo Bin) is an elite delivery driver in a dystopian era. After a comet hit the Earth polluting and destroying the atmosphere, the remaining survivors must depend on deliveries of precious oxygen to survive the scarce and toxic air. Deliverymen must be special forces level capability to survive attacks from those that would steal deliveries. One deliveryman, is legendary among the poorest class of people who are forced to live like refugees. He goes only by his deliveryman name which is 5 dash 8. He must counter the power hungry, greedy measures of the wealthy heir to a corporate group, Ryu Seok (Song Seung heon). In their stratified society, only those at the very top receive full access to scarce resource although deliveryman are rewarded with the same even if they come from the lowest, refugee, class. Jeong Seol ah (Choi Seung hoon) is a refugee boy who dreams of following in 5 dash 8’s footsteps to become a deliveryman and not only improve his own life but also help his people. He was adopted by his sister, Jeong Seol ah (Esom) who is also secretly making moves for the better of the people. While the deliveryman work for the evil conglomerate, many of them are working against it to secure a better life for all the people. It is a futuristic battle of good versus evil. Who will prevail?

Review

Ot is a great, dystopian, good versus evil, futuristic thriller. The deliverymen were more like elite special forces. It had some “Dune” and “Mad Max vibes but it was definitely all its own thing. I was able to watch it with my guy who is allergic to romance shows. This had the action and intrigue that he likes. If you are looking for something faced pace, with a great and unique premise, this is for you. It is well acted and Kim Woo Bin is a talented actor who is always a joy to watch.

Slight detractors was people, such as the kid, making decisions to move the plot along that aren’t decisions someone would usually make. Like your friend just dies, you know the bad guys are coming, but you do not go and they capture you.

When the kid finally made it and became a deliveryman he was doing inappropriate things like giving his friends rides, and it was as if no one noticed when previously the deliveryman could not deviate from their assigned route and schedule.

I was surprised, given it was on a streaming platform, that the bad guys used a vaccine to commit genocide. They also had people in masks when the villain was the one spreading the pollution that necessitated them. It was an accurate portrayal of such elements currently happening and it was easy to see the parallels
