This reminds us that sometimes taking it a littler slower and taking a break from social media is not bad. I am much older and remember does day. I like the importance to help our neighbors and thinking of the food we eat and what does it contain. I enjoy the cute romance and the love triangle. I did not like the 2 episode that bring in and ex-girlfriend and that she is obsess with making the lead male actor hers all of the sudden. I do not know ay women who break up with an ex and moves on. believing that she can come back and force him to make a relationship start again. I do like the story and the actors performance was really good. nice one to watch with friends.

a simple and wholesome drama, with lots of animals!

This was such a cute drama! It's really wholesome and it makes you get your mind off of things. It's perfect for animal lovers.

But it's also not the best drama out there! It's a simple, mid one. The FL was a really cute cop and the actress did a great job. Can't say the same about the ML. I guess he didn't have much experience cause he looked really stiff and awkward but i could also be just wrong and maybe thats how his character was supposed to be. They also didn't have much chemistry and i found many moments where they were simply just awkward.

Would i recommend it? Definitely. But I definitely saw better ones and there definitely exist better ones out there. If the acting was a little bit better and if there was something memorable in this drama, I'd have given it an 8 or even an 8.5.

But overall, it wasn't bad and i would rewatch it if i wanted to watch something light and happy!

if the word "mid" had a drama, it'd be once upon a small town.

the story was kinda bland and the characters didn't really have much depth. yeah, both main characters are orphans but the script didn't go into it with any depth at all so it just felt like a failed plot point. like jinyuls parent's death was brought up a lot but it was just surface level which sucked soo bad. didn't get to see or learn much about the second male lead he was kinda just there most of the time. sooyoungs acting has improved tremendously but i do wish that her company would stop choosing to cast her in dramas with a shallow script. she has so much potential which is being wasted and its honestly so hard to watch knowing how hard she works her ass off. in conclusion it wasn't the worst thing in the world but i also wouldnt give it an academy award

cute, homely romance

__*Once Upon a Small Town (2022)*__ 8,5/10 -kdrama

ok story is pretty basic and even its same rating from me I think Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) did a bit better for this theme. At least even it got tag comedy at MDL I didnt found much of it here + it was almost one man show. Meanwhile hometown got excelent support roles.

this drama was very much carried by main female lead[Joy], like through drama I think I grew affection for women in uniform which I am sure I never had.

Ok enough joking truthfully her cute, klutz, smiling image doesnt really fit for policewoman work[like who would respect her?] still for work in small village it may work. Still her role was most enjoyable to watch in this drama.

__*plot*__ - ML works as a veterinarian in Seoul. He is popular for his face, but he is classic introverted guy which hates hassle. One day he got serious call from his grandfather from countryside. In hurry he arrives there just to discover he was pranked into being director of vet clinic in that countryside for half year in stead of his grandfather which goes on trip around world with his grandmother. In this countryside he meet super nosy pokicewoman which for some reason shows alot around him but at same time seems to have beef with him.

Just a simple, sweet love story

This was a nice and simple story to watch. No need to think too much. Sometimes sweet, sometimes funny. I did not expect any surprises at the time, It was entertaining enough, but the story itself could have been made more complex. First of all, I did not find the vet really having a hard time adjusting himself to this small town, being such a dedicated professional. Yes, it may be annoying to meet all these nosy town folks (which you will also find in other dramas), but it didn't end up being some kind of disaster. The other guy who seemed to be a rival was also not a strong enough character to cause any conflict in the story. But I do like the acting of the two main leads.

So light hearted drama ? Must watch it

How Adorable! A feel good romance! I really enjoyed watching this! It was a all new cast for me and their chemistry was so cute!! I'll have to go see what else they star in. This is a lighthearted, funny romance with absolutely no angst or over the top drama, It was really rather refreshing. Sometimes it's nice to watch something without going through an emotional rollercoaster. This drama gives all the butterflies of a sweet first love. I couldn't get enough of the main couple, they were so awkward and then once they decided to confess their feeling all the akwardness melted away and they became something so beautiful. I definitely recommend this sweet little bit-sized romance, it will make you remember or give you butterflies!

Joyless Jingles

Police officer Joy taking us on a joyless ride around the village. The fake cozy and small-town vibes failed to capture a convincing portrayal of small-town life but rather padded it with cheap cookie cutter village NPCs with bubbly visuals. The attempts at romance felt superficial and unconvincing, the female lead was always coming off too strong on the new guy in the village despite having little to no sufficient time to develop a romance, but rather relying on her ever long lasting impression of each other when they were kids. The transition was off. The case is even worse with the male lead. Anyway, it was a forgettable and uninspiring zero calories short drama.

Adatto all'estate.

Come detto nel titolo stesso del drama, quest'opera è adatta alla visione durante la tosta caldura estiva. E' un drama breve e dolce, molto tranquillo e che mette a proprio agio. Per chi l'avesse già visto, sta sulla scia di "Hometown Cha Cha Cha", ma appunto rimane tutto più semplice. I personaggi secondari sono descritti il minimo sindacale giusto per farli da contorno. I protagonisti sono molto dolci e mi sono piaciuti. Sono presenti i classici clichè di sempre, compresi triangolo amoroso e ex che ritorna per riprendersi quello che ha lasciato. Insomma, originalità non è la sua vocazione ma se cercate qualcosa di veramente easy e allo stesso tempo carino, questo è sicuramente adatto a voi.

Uma mistura de clichês.

Comecei a assistir esse drama pois estava no top 10 da Netflix e eu achei a história muito interessante, o drama em si é muito legal, a atmosfera é diferente e a filmagem é muito linda. É apaixonante. A Ahn Ja-young é uma personagem muito interessante e em vários momentos me identifiquei com ela principalmente pela necessidade de agradar e ajudar a todos independente de que isso a machuque, isso é explicado no decorrer da história . Ela é muito gentil, amorosa e pura. Han Ji-yul é um cara introvertido e frio mas conforme vai vivendo os dias no vilarejo ele percebe que gosta daquelas pessoas e estava se adaptando a vida ali, e principalmente que estava gostando da Ahn Ja-young. É lindo a cena que ele se declara para ela, achei bastante corajoso.
O dorama tem TODOS os clichês possíveis ex namorada querendo reconquistar o cara principal, vizinhos fofoqueiros, melhor amigo apaixonado, amor de infância que se reencontra, cara frio e introvertido que conhece uma menina gentil e extrovertida, enfim, parece que pegaram todas formulas de sucesso de doramas e misturaram tudo. A ideia inicial da história é interessante, porém o excesso de clichê é extremamente chato. É uma história bobinha que da para passar o tempo, suspirar e se apaixonar. Não existe questões muito profundas, é apenas um clichê.

Simply Sweet

This one gave me Hometown Cha Cha Cha vibes - only it was set in the countryside, not the seaside. There wasn’t too much of a story to it which I felt was kind of expected.

I liked the interactions between the ML and the other guy. The looks that were served were quite amusing. I also liked the Ajummas as they were funny too. The little children were sweet. The animals were cute - I liked that the ML was a vet. I’m curious though as to how much police work got done by the FL as she seemed to be more of a helping hand than a policewoman - although I guess there isn’t much crime to be committed in such a small town.

I don’t get why the FL didn’t just say, “hey, don’t you remember me?” to the ML. Instead she just got grumpy at him for not remembering who she was. I mean, it had been 15 years since they last saw each other.

I’m glad the romance only came about towards the end as otherwise it would have been very rushed for such a short drama. The few short moments we got to see of them together were simply sweet.

The ex-girlfriend business seemed a bit out of place, but as with any drama there had to be a ‘complication.’

Sweet and Cute

I watched this drama with a friend and we both liked it. It's not a GREAT drama, but it's lighthearted and cute with a good cast and a happy ending. And all of that is what I want in a drama.

For me, the downside was some of the townpeople. The ajumah women were literally characters that I groaned every time they showed up. I don't like to watch people bicker and that was basically their purpose on the show. It really was annoying and a big part of why I didn't give the show a higher score.

One of he best characters is the second male lead. I wish we had been given more scenes with him and the male lead because they were a hoot to watch together. But I loved how the 2ML isn't an annoying character or one that tries to cause problems because he's not getting what he wants. He was just awesome all the way through and I wish more 2nd lead characters were like him.

Overall, it's a cute drama and a great one if you want to just watch something fun and light.
