Bon Appetit non!!!

This was a cliche Korean bl, down to the hard lipped kisses. It was unimaged, the plot was sketchy at best. When a shower scene is thrown in , it doesn't move the plot forward in any way & the lack luster kiss scene that ensured was just a big WHY, if your gonna put in a shower scene in any show at least make it awesome. As a watcher, your left wondering why???? It is unfortunate because I enjoyed both of the main actors. I liked the whole fireside episode & you did get a lesson in korean food . To be fair I thought it could have just easily been a series on food & the bl was just tossed in for good measure. Since the real main character was the cooking of food. On the upside the actors were as good as the script allowed them to be, except for the juvenile kissing scenes. Yoon Seo Bin in the series with no real part, seemed a little desperate . Too bad but all series can't be great.

Annoying conflict scene.

This is all I'm coming here to say, but when I was watching this for the first time, I actually really liked it.
But when the main characters ended up fighting in ep 7, I turned off the show and never finished.
BL's are notorious for ridiculous fights and arguments, and almost every time I can get past it. But for some reason, this time I couldn't. I was so annoyed and I genuinely was a bit angry? The show was doing so well, but that fight had ruined everything.
Never in my life had I dropped a BL series so far into it. I either drop it after the first 1 or 2 episodes, or I watch the entire thing. But this one broke that streak.
I'm not hating on it at all, I did really enjoy it up until that point. I just found it utterly ridiculous.

It’s a cute feel good and nice bl and felt good watching it I am a fan of lee kitaek and I was so excited when this bl announcement came. I want more of these light hearted bow???✨and yes I want kitaek to act in more bl?❤️ I became a fan of him after watching the devil judge and he’s one of my favourite side characters of all time ; “k”and he has a soft aura here and such a gentle vibe and seobin ???Damn didn’t expect him here at all . I really like this❤️If you are a person who thinks soft hearted things are cringey or too slow then don’t watch . This is not for you.if you like soft hearted stuff you may like this. The plot ain’t too complicated but it’s good . I wish the background music and songs were much more good. Apart from that I liked everything ??

Unnecessary mating horse

I love the food bl genre, don't get me wrong. But, this is still not IT. The only good thing i liked in this series is the handsome casting and the cooking.

But the actors cannot act in love really. The intern looked much in love then the main characters, that they are better off acting in a bromance series rather than a bl.

This serie also tried to put too many plot points in a short series. A mating horse (the ex and intern) is unnecessary to add in the plotline, as the main couple's struggle in work and life is enough as a conflict really. I really wished they focused more on that. Especially since dohoon is overworked and yon soo is still getting the hang of owning a restaurant. As shown in episode 6.

Dont get me started with the kiss. I don't mind pecks, bit i can see how one sided the kiss is in this serie and it is making me cringe. The falling action is also sooo mediocre that i had to skip scenes in episode 7 and 8.

I love lee jo woon's cameo, but i think his character is unnecessary too.
I wish the build up on their romance was more focused on as well. Sigh.

To all readers, this is still a recommended watch, i think.

Loved it - Wished it was longer

When I started this one, I wasn't sure where it was going to take us. When it was over, I wished they had given us more.

While Chinese rom-coms and dramas drag things out to 48 episodes with the main characters learning nothing and going through everything imaginable - BLs still tend to be 3 hour movies chopped into small segments and called a series. That's okay...baby steps.

A few faults in continuity - but, forgivable. No real time tracking for us. What day is it? How much time has passed? What led our characters to think and act the way they do/did? Enquiring minds want to know...

I really felt for everyone. The feelings and reactions seemed very true. This is where I wanted more detail. What was the result of A, B, or, C?

Characters:

Lee Yoon Soo was the most developed. You knew everything you needed to know about him. He knew who he was. You know where his passion lies. You know enough of his story to be believable - and, one you can invest yourself in. You want him to succeed.

Jung Do Hoon's details needed some tweaking. He shows an interest in girls in every scene he is around other groups and people but, he's okay with exploring another side of himself? This is where we needed help in how much time has passed. It could have been solved with the reason he focuses on work so much and just lives to work is because he really doesn't know who he wants to be with and can't understand why any attempts at a relationship always fail.

I have seen this successfully pulled off in a few other BLs where the guy has many one night stands or, starts new relationships with girls but, they always end/fail. I loved the way this was handled in Theory of Love. Khai - being rich - was able to hide his failed attempts at relationships by being a jerk. The attention would focus on his actions rather than, why he wouldn't let a relationship proceed past quick and easy sex. When the girls wanted more from him - he would put an end to it. When he found out Third really loved him - he went into fear and acted the only way he knew how - and the writers remembered to put that in Khai's words to Third.

Jung Do Hoon needed to come to terms with himself while we got to watch and cheer him on. As with many BLs - we only get to see the beginning of their relationship and have to guess the rest.

Now, that this company has three BLs under their belt - do like MAME and give us story continuations through new BLs. Let's see the characters a couple years later getting married or, being a small part of the new couple's lives. We want to know.

Loved the side characters - would have loved to learn more about them so, we could connect. As the money and product placement grows - we will see longer BLs. I love that in Wedding Plan - they landed The Arches.

Better than expected, but a little all over the place

I have not heard a thing of this drama other than one tiktok about the shower scene so I didnt have an idea of what to expect. I liked the drama for its lighthearted moments and the actors felt quite sincere, espescially the chef. Still, I feel like there was too much going on with the introduction of the ex and the intern, and all the office scenes. Nothing was bad per se, I think even the office colleagues were acting good and left an interesting impression. I guess I just felt it was a bit much for the length of the drama.

I do recommend a watch, the pacing is quite good so it does feel pleasant to watch from start to end. The couple seemed nice and warm, but like they were still trying to get to know each other near the end, they didn't feel like a real couple quite yet. Another thing, maybe it would have been nice to have a side couple we could have focused on. It doesn't fit with the main couple, the other love interests and the colleagues, but if it was edited differently maybe it would have felt more like a complete story.

A great time from beginning to end!

I was very pleasantly surprised with this title. I can't count the amount of times I laughed out loud at a humorous scene, and I was very endeared by all of the characters. The scenes potraying the main characters' work lives brought a distinct flavor to this series that I adored. The progression of the relationship felt organic, and I appreciated that it was handled with maturity and subtelty. Adult BL characters are potrayed like emotionally illiterate teenagers way too often, and I liked that these two allowed their relationship to unfold naturally. I felt like I was watching actual queer characters in a queer piece of media, which is unfortunately a rarity in BL.

Probably the biggest compliment I have for this series is that it subverted my biggest pet peeves when it comes to Korean BL series - the love triangle (square?) wasn't forced in for the sake of petty drama but handled with adult-level communication, and the series didn't lose its good pacing near the end as so many others tend to do. More series should learn how to handle conflict resolution from this one.

A savory love story

They served a wholesome menu with visually appealing actors and a delightful progression of their story. I have fun watching the main characters dwell in making romance between them happen once again. The script was okay for a small film project yet the actors shined so brightly that made the story more consumable.

Jung Do Hoon was a ball of sunshine here. Having such a tall figure, an intelligent marketing mind, and a kind-hearted heart. I easily fell in love with him and his personality. Working in a workplace where it seems toxic and overworked was too pitiful. Thankfully, his boss wasn’t that bad and protected him during the conflict with their client. If I were him, I don’t know if I can manage to survive working in such an environment.

The chef on the other hand, Lee Yoon Soo, was a sweet talker in a literal and positive way. I love his gentleness and for always caring for his loved ones. He has one of the sweetest speaking voices in Korean BLs -soft and lovely. I understand how he fell in love with his hyung, Jung Do Hoon, and wanted to take good care of him every day. Because our marketing boy is someone who you can feel too happy just to see him being happy, in short, he is an adorable big boy.

The conflict of the ex-boyfriend and suitors that happened between them was shortly executed and made a segway to how Jung Do Hoon kept the food that the chef prepared for him, untouched. It is both a good and bad way of transitioning a conflict to another conflict. Good in a way that we should know the feelings of the person who prepared food and cooked for us, the care and effort are priceless. Bad way in a form that the couple should solve the third parties involved with their relationship with deep communication involved. As a viewer, I enjoyed the other party being jealous but at the end of the day, I want for a proper talk between them that somehow doesn’t happen again in the finale.

Overall, Bon Appetit was another light BL that made me so happy until the end. I love the chemistry between the couple and I hope to see more of them in their next projects with the hope that they will be paired once again.

SUCH A WARM DRAMA THAT I FELT HUNGRY AND FELL INLOVE

Let me just say that this drama is so beautifully made ! like, I can't get enough of it, I just lay my head down watched and later I knew I finished watching it ! , This is such a warm drama , it is easy to fall inlove with it, I felt everything, the vibe is so heartwarming that this drama is so different from the other KBL's
I am a fan of Korean dishes ever since and I enjoyed seeing food in this drama, I felt hungry real time ! everything is so adorable, I can't describe how I liked it, This will be from now on added to my top favorite Kdrama !
It was so refreshing to see story like this, At first I kinda had a hint that there was an intention for chef Yoon Soo living right next to Jung Dae-ri's apartment , And I was right ! The story is easy to understand that made me wanna see what will happen next , The past flashback school scene was very very cute and its so nice ! I really had a good vibe ! I also love the team mates of Jung Dae-ri I can relate to him in many ways.
The intern Sang woo was kinda annoying at first but I saw the sense of having him in the story, I like his acting too. Yoon Soo actor kinda looks like Seo In Guk , and Ki Taek ! I know him and I've been seeing him in some Kdrama's and I never knew he is this handsome !
I just love everything here, everything is just so adorable, like this drama has checked every boxes of my likes on a drama, it is just simple but heartfelt. I just hoped that it is longer, I hope it did not just ended after their reconciliation
I want to thank everyone who did this drama, this really made me happy, hungry and fell in love, I had fun and good time !
I would definitely re watch this many many times in my life OMG !
About the Kissing Scene, it is just perfect as what the theme and story requires for me, one thing I love about KBL , it is that they are not steamy , but focuses on the love story, off course with the numerous ex lover coming back after the lead have moved on thing that is always on KBL's ,--which is actually in here too, is the only thing I don't like anymore , but here in Bon Ape tit, that part of ex coming back is just short so it is okay for me , I am satisfied.
Let me just acknowledge Yoon Seo Bin here everyone ! I so missed him, specially I want to see him again with Jiwoong, He is as adorable as ever so happy for him to have a part here ! ?
The drama is not rushed, everything is just at the right place, longer or not it is fine, the ending is fine even it just ended after Yoon Soo came back, it is still okay and satisfying, no wasted time here, So beautiful, I never hesitated to give this a high rating ! yeah that's all, I hope you watch it too ❤️

Sweet Fun Series

This series was so sweet, funny, and a joy to watch. Lots of fluffy moments. The leads are fun and have good chemistry. They lead you on a little adventure of finding each other again and having 2nd chances at love. The story was good and playful to keep my attention. The characters and side people help make you see lots of real-life moments. I like that it showed you the emotions and hard work in its bad and good times. There was jealousy, love, tears, and amazing food being shown to us. I greatly enjoyed the series for all it gave me. The only down part was I wish it was longer and showed what it was like in the future for them would have been fun to see. This is a sweet and fun take on love and laughter.

Light & Nice

Director Hwang Kyu effectively utilized a restrictive amount of time to produce this lighthearted short series.

It touched a little bit of many aspect of life such as the reality of responsibilities in life relating to relationships and work. It also lightly addressed bullying be it at work or in relationships. I enjoy how a lot of things were included in this series even though I can see how difficult it must have been for the screenwriters and the director. I like the right balance of humor, comedy, & romance.

The actors did a great job in portraying their individual roles. Casting is effective and harmonious. For such a light series, the scene werein Yoo Jung Hun was talking about his mom made my tears roll down my face without me realizing it. He can act and can elicit emotions even though it was such a simple scene.

Production worked hard and it is evident with the props and set design. It effectively provided the ambiance for the scenes. I think wardrobe can be better tho.

I am so happy that Yoon Seo Bin played a part in this series. Kissable Lips sequel is currently on hold for some reason, I can only guess that it is because Kim Ji-woong made it to the the idol group ZeroBaseOne and agency thinks it wont be good for an idol group image to have a BL series attached to one of the members of the group when theyvare barely starting.

Overall, it is the type of series that you think you’ll not need to watch again but when you do, youll be happy that you did.
