Revenge of Others started off as a great murder mystery and towards the end drifted a little. Lots of plots and small storylines going on and even little things that were added in that had me genuinely thrown for a loop. The acting and overall revenge stories are what hooked me in and it's a good watch if you're looking for revenge with a happy ending.

While the main plot is "Who killed Chan-Mi's twin brother?", there are a ton of smaller plots playing out as well. Bullying, jealousy, gaslighting, murder mystery, secret stalker, a lot of suspects, and a lot of things left in the wind for others. What they added in at the end with Gi Osung and his sister is what let my rating slip a good bit. I felt that it wasn't really necessary to the storyline AT ALL. Especially when we know what we do about how the bullying started. It was just a really weird shock factor thing thrown in? It wasn't even needed to explain why he did because the reason was: they were investigating things that he was involved in and getting close to the truth. My other problem was one of the main plot points is that Ji Soo-Heon is suffering from a brain tumor and this causes his behavior, nose bleeds, etc.. but it's never resolved or explained further after the doctor's visit? He just goes and lives his life and we just pretend that isn't a thing? I wish that the ending and their futures were given more time for better explanations, especially Soo-Heon's. I feel that they spent a lot of time on other things that weren't too important to the main plot. One whole episode was dedicated to something that could've been resolved and shown in 30 minutes of an episode. Just really weird pacing overall with the main plot line, you don't figure out who REALLY did it until the very last episode.

The ending itself is really weird and random. The person who actually did it and how that's revealed didn't make a lot of sense to me and seemed super random. I felt that they needed someone else because it was obvious that Gi Osung was involved somehow pretty early on into the drama. This is another reason why I gave it an 8.5. It just felt messy and rushed towards the end.

Overall, it's a good watch if you're wanting something short but has action to keep you interested.

Need some serious tweaking to perfect it

The premise of this drama is actually an extraordinary one, but the treatment it has gotten lacks precision which limits its potential of being a brilliant drama. Some of the plotlines got really unrefined and the handling is just messy, but the mystery of the crime in it is really thrilling and that's appreciable. They are really close in reaching the level of the legendary Netflix's Extracurricular, but the details of the story need some serious tweaking to perfect it. Still, it's quite remarkable for what they've achieved and the acting performance in here is noteworthy.

Basic school revenge but with great characters

Basic revenge high school story and a lot of cliché plotlines BUT the characters just felt so real and by that i mean it didnt feel like they were kdrama characters but people that u could meet irl; especially the FL, she is juts so genuine and acts like a real person. She doesnt have an outstanding ability to read people so she believes people and doubts herself like you and me. The length of the show is just perfect although i felt like the bittersweet ending is not what we deserved... so many unanswered questions and an uncertain future for the characters.

Worth Watching

it was worth watching this series, specially how the story was written, it was quite enraging and the hooks at the end of the episode made me watch the next episode right away and the actor performance was also incredible. especially the male and female lead end their chemistrychemistry. was disappointed that there was not intense love tension typa thing between the lead, as they were living together. I think that was one draw back everything else was perfect. but I'm happy how the drama ended.

Disappointing Ending

Starting this show, I’d already assumed that the ending would be a sad one. And I’m never one to complain about such endings, in fact, I LOVE sad endings. So, I went into this knowing that I would be left crying, and I was fine with that.

The first 8-9 episodes of the show were really fun to sit through and I had watched them in one sitting.

Then for the rest of the episodes, I felt as if they were dragging it out too much and I started getting bored.

I felt like they could’ve used the unnecessary screen time into going through more topics and explaining them, which would have left us with answers and satisfaction but that didn’t happen. Actually, the opposite happened.

Some of the confusing things I’d been left with after the show ended:

1. Jaebum could’ve gotten out of trouble as his personality disorder would’ve explained his behavior.

2. The rooftop incident was so unnecessary and the school lying about it was unnecessary too, as Sooheon would’ve easily explained himself out of it, and it would’ve been wrapped up as self-defense.

3. The brain tumor topic was not brushed on, not even lightly. So, that seemed like it was swept under the rug.

4. To me, the ending was so childish, and it was as if it was meant for a younger audience, which since it’s Disney, I assume that was the goal. However, I think the gore of some of the scenes contradicts that goal, which makes it pointless for them to conclude the show with a lighthearted ending. I mean, I was completely strapped in for an ending that’d leave me devastated. So, you could imagine my disappointment when I was left with THAT.

TL;DR: Good show, but unsatisfying ending.
Is it worth watching? Yes, absolutely.
Maybe my expectations were up too high, but in my opinion, the ending could’ve been done better.

The ending kinda ruined it

Revenge dramas have always been something i avoided for soo long but after watching "the glory" i had became self conscious, i guess, and i genuinely starded watching revenge dramas and "revenge of others" was my second.
The story was good and I truly loved the cast they were and still are fantastic, their acting skills and visual are just awesome and the plot is there too... but the ending! I think it kinda ruined the whole drama or i had higher expectation after watching "the glory", but still this drama is worth watching for those who love high-school dramas.
AND OF COURSE PARK SOLOMON HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD FOR THE WHOLE TIME WATCHING THIS!!!

This was one hell of a drama. I feel like people don’t like open-ended stories because they leave everything up to imagination but I don’t know how to feel about the ending honestly. Everything was so messy and I found it somewhat entertaining? I wish they’d have delved deeper into other characters’ roles and whatnot here but I didn’t expect much since such a jam-packed story was told only over 12 episodes. Chanmi’s brother was a very interesting character to me. I don’t think the whole thing between the female lead and male lead should’ve happened either. I don’t hate it but I just think it wasn’t that necessary.

A Revenge Drama - Hero who fights against Injustice

I think Lomon deserves an award for his outstanding performance through out the show. I never missed his Drama. I watched almost all he starred starting from The Guardians (For Dramas) and Horror Story III (For Movies).

There're some reviews and comments about the Ending! I personally think that Ending is justified because if they tend to expand the ending sequence, it might end up becoming another episode with running time less than 28 minutes and if they follow normal k-drama standards then the runtime can either be 45 min or 60 min.
Moreover, sometimes the approval of episode length depend on Disney+ based on their requirement. I understand that last 20 minutes of the show actually handled bit faster than expected - From Jaebum's Arrest to Ji Soo's exit (from school with Chan Mi.

There are so many favorite scenes in the show especially the Ep9 ending sequence when Jaebum is revealed instead of Ji Soo with the background song (Lost Game).

According to me, It has high re-watch value with it's take on several characters in the show.
Overall,
Story - 10/10 (It is actually good, A Person with Tumor in his last days taking care of mother who is hospitalized and also helping the girls who were traumatized with bullies and Ok ChanMi finding the murder of her brother)
Acting - 10/10 (Ji Soo, Chanmi, Osung, Jaebeom, Kookji,Tae So) - Every actor on the show did good.
OST - 10/10 (All the Songs are good)
Rewatch Value - 10/10

Don't miss the show. It keeps you at the edge of the seat while watching intense scenes.

Things that I personally really like and hate about Revenge Of Others!

On most of the parts I do agree with the comments here, the 1st half of the show is indeed amazing and 2nd half went quite expectedly downhill because they added too many plot twists which obviously created more loopholes and illogical actions. I quite like the chemistry the cast actors had for the show not just the main leads.

1st, I like that they kept the romance at a right amount because it is focused on action and thriller while looking for the murderer hiding behind everyone though I'd say it was kind of obvious to me who had the strongest motive. So thankful the story isn't like most typical K-suspense dramas.

2nd, I really like how they kept us guessing what actually happened in the clique of friends that caused the brother's death. They honestly did a great job ensuring audiences follow the story's flow of thoughts and their logic/hints behind every scenes shown.

3rd, I really kinda hate Kwon Se Jin's character... It feels like he's not even needed in the story even though his existence should hold a lot of importance to resolving the mystery. The problem lies in the character that he is actually Ok Chankyu's love interest, yet he gave the least effort in trying to return his lover the justice while the sister works her ass off looking for details even though she didn't know what her brother faced in school. To me, it seems that Kwon Sejin didn't even bother to observe what his lover went through when they are so close and only assuming things as "truth" which ended up influencing FL's thoughts and decisions...

lastly, get that the ending isn't the best for most people but I like how the girl (victim) repaid the kindness by asking the entire school to protect the ML through the text message, it was honestly so satisfying and heartwarming at that moment. Even the police decided to take a step back which was undeniable they understood the students' wish to do justice to the ML who deserves kindness and protection and the person who truly deserved punishment.

amazing thriller with a terrible ending

This show was a ride. Not only was it my first kdrama Thriller, it was also having an overall great premise. This show pulled me in from the very first second and I really loved every episode. Up until like the last three that were slowly ruining it all for me.

Story: I really love the "someone killed my sibling so I will go undercover to find the person who did this" trope and this show managed to give us a protagonist who was not letting herself be pushed around. She was smart and didn't put up with anything, but still had a kind heart. Chanmi was a real delight and a welcomed fresh breath of air after so many push-over main characters I endoured the last few weeks. She managed to be both a badass and a softie and I love her. Seonjoon was a very interesting character as well and watching him walk down the narrow path between seeking revenge for other people and just cruely beating people up to the brink of their death was chilling. This boy had to shoulder so much and my heart was breaking for him and his mother a dozen times in these twelve episodes. Jaebum was someone I didn't trust from the start. His amnesia seemed so oddly convenient and I've seen the plot twist "he's faking his amnesia" too many times, so I was always suspicious. But like halfway through the show I slowly warmed up to his charm and good nature. A mistake as it turns out, but more on this later. The supporting characters were great as well, making you feel for them and hate them, whatever the show needed you to feel. About the detectives... Well, let's just say that I have mixed feelings about them. I'm glad that they started to trust Chami more and more and were trying to work with her after realising that she was onto something. But at times it also felt very frustrating since Chanmi and we (the audience) were always one step ahead, so whenever they discovered something it was never a "oh!"-moment but rather a "finally!".

Acting/Cast: Almost all the actors and actresses were doing a phenomenal job, especially the main cast was really giving their all in their performances and it shows.

Music: Great. Just great. But kdramas rarely have bad or boring soundtrack, so no surprise here.

Rewatch Value: Up until now my review probably seems overwhelmingly positive, so you might think that my rewatch value is quite high, but not only am I not one to rewatch stuff easily, I also have very strong feelings about the ending and if it isn't satisfactory enough for me, it will immediately lower my rewatch value drastically. And as you can see from my rating, I will not rewatch this show any time soon.

The Bad:
- predictable plot twists. Okay, so this one doesn't have to be too bad, because if nobody can predict your plot twist than you have done a bad job at forshadowing it. But this show had so many plot twists that I have seen coming from a mile away and not in a "oh! I see! So this could happen!" kind of way but in a "lol maybe they pull x-twist, i hope not tho" and they did. Like my first thought was "why would Jihyun and Osung care so much about others knowing they are siblings? if they aren't dating, nobody cares" and well... guess what happened...

- characters suddenly turn dumb. This one was probably the most frustrating one. I had to watch Seonjoon and Chanmi accuse everyonea round them of murder for like ten episodes straight, they were pointing fingers at LEFT AND RIGHT, but when the culprit is RIGHT THERE they close their eyes. They literally have a conversation like: "Hey, the police says that the murderer probably used his left hand." - "Huh, that's good to know. Btw, Jaebum was acting really strange and he wrote his name with his left hand." - "Oh, you should ask him if he is ambidextrous." - "Yeah... anyway, back to the killer. So Osung-" LIKE???? They laid such a heavy focus on the left-hand-thing just for them to IGNORE IT?? What was the point of the shots of Seonjoon staring at Jaebum doing all these weird things just for him to NOT mention it to Chanmi or to not grow at least a little suspicious??

- all is forgiven. HOW?? Chanmi was ready to pull a gun on Seonjoon as soon as she suspected him of murdering his brother but all of a sudden she has a change of heart and forgives Jaebum. I know that some more time has pass and she learned to trust people and learned to love these people, yadda yadda. But she was ready to kill him and suddenly she forgave him completely. That seemed very unlike her and, after all we've been through, a little disappointing. And I'm sorry but I just can't believe that if someone would try to kill me and I wouldn't know who and someone was like "yeah it was this guy" I would WITHOUT QUESTIONING HIM FIRST OR ANYTHING just straight up go there to murder him??? Like how was that his FIRST THOUGHT?? And the way he kicked him wasn't him trying to be like "I will push you out of the window so you can have the same experience as me" but he full intended to kill him. Just good old coldblooded murder and we are just supposed to shrug it away. I know he was manipulated but just the fact that he was so ready to kill someone...idk idk

- is this an open ending or no ending? So, the thing with open endings is that they are pretty hit or miss. You can still get a sense of closure and satisfaction even if the ending is open or ambigious. But this ending felt like someone forgot to write an ending and came to set and made something up. I'm glad that they didn't kill-off Seonjoon in the very last few minutes because that would just leave a sour taste in my mouth. The characters all graduating and Chanmi just saying in a voice-over "btw he died, but live goes on" and then end credits... like no please don't. But since the very first episode we are told that he will die and he doesn't. He leaves school, get's together with Chanmi and that's it; "he's lucky for now". They are happy for now, both alive for now. But you know what, I can live with that, I can understand leaving it at that with them, since fans can now decide for themselves if they have many happy years in front of them or if Seonjoon died soon after. But with everyone else... no. What happened to Jihyun and her family after finding out the truth about her brother and seeing him literally die right in front of her eyes? What happens to Jaebum? Is he now "freed" or is he still mentally ill (we'll get to that in a second)? What about his family? What about the detectives? Are they just gonna accept that everyone pretends like this guy died of natural causes?

- everyone accepts that Osung died of natural causes. So you tell me that this school had like two dead students in a year and nobody is like "hmm, that's a little sus, we should keep an eye on them"?? The detectives arrive see that this guy apparently jumped from the roof and they just accept it with a "if enough people push the lie it eventually becomes the truth" like first of all...no that's not how that works and second of all that insinuates that she KNOWS that something's up but she CHOOSES to ignore it??? Good to know this woman has learned nothing from twelve episodes.

- Jaebum is possesed by a demon(??). Throughought this show we get many hints that there is something wrong with Jaebum. Him stating that he "doesn't remember stuff he did" and "remembers stuff he didn't do" was like an alarm bell going of. And I know that the "this super nice and sweet guy was actually the killer all along and is actually cold, evil, and bloodthirsty" is a beloved trope. God knows I do like it as well. But the way it was handled in this show... uff. First of all, I am really tired of the way people keep misrepresenting DID and make it into a Jekyll and Hyde situation. Just make him evil and say that he loves playing nice guy or something. Also Chanmi's speech of evil guy Jaejoon was truly something. Her saying "you are a demon" and "please let him free" was just...I was speechless. My girl, my man has a mental illness, he is not possessed by a demon. That's not how it work--well apparently that's exactly how it works in this show.

- the nice Jaebum being not so nice. Okay, so the thing is that everyone keeps telling you that Jaebum is a good person. Even when he literally killed someone, they say it's not his fault since he was manipulated and everyone forgives him. And I guess, yes, he does take responsibility once he's caught. We don't know what happenes after if his family just buys him out or if he talks about his illness or if he takes the blame for it all, we will never know. But what we do know is that Jaebum got his memory back of the incident quite early... like this man had some time to think. Time to feel guilty. You tell me this guy knew he killed a classmate and he just...went on with his life?? He knew he was the killer then looked Chanmi in the eyes and didn't immediately start crying?? The Jaebum who was so ready to jump to her defense all the time? The guy who was ready to cover up a murder for his friend(s)??? Also how did the fight between him and Osung end? They were ready to kill each other and suddenly they are both fine and went different ways?

- the full-circle-dilemma. I know that the whole school protecting Seonjoon was more a symbolic thing, to show that they really value him as "the hero" and that was sweet yes, if you don't really think about how unrealistic it is that not one single soul snitched. But even if you pretend that it's totally realistic for two hundred people to stick to one story and protecting a guy some hated and some loved, it still felt weird. It was supposed to be this full-circle kinda thing, a parallel to Wonseok's death and how everyone believed/accepted it to be suicide and nobody spoke up about it. But it didn't give me anything. And I know that Osung was a bad person and that some might think that he deserved it, but for me it just felt like history repeating itself and nobody learning anything.

- so who should've been the killer? So after this whole rent you might as yourself, well how would you have liked this show to end then? And I don't have a clear answer to that, since there were so many (better) possibilities. So many characters that could've made (a better) perpetrator. My personal favorite was Soyeon and Seonjoon as a team. At one point I even suspected a last plot twist that it wasn't actually Jaebum but Soyeon and Seonjoon who constructed the whole thing. It was mentioned so many times that Wonseok was someone many people wanted to see dead and maybe Soyeon and Seonjoon made that happen. And maybe Seonjoon didn't mean to kill Wonseok but just fight him and he accidentally fell out of the window or his anger spiked up because of his cancer and that's why he forgot it or idk. I haven't planned an entire alternative ending in my head, these are just a few thoughts that popped into my head in like episode 11 when I thought that maybe this show would pull a better twist.

Not Completely Satisfied

Decent Drama for me, very unsatisfied finale episode. Started Superbly and till E10 they kept the curiosity factor alive but after that a complete let down. Nothing is there to be honest in the end, Everything is predictable, that scene before the actual climax was crap?. I laughed a lot?.

Plot wise Revenge of others was impressive at the start, because it was not like a usual stereo type kdrama actually something is different which you can all feel when you watch, am just only talking about the start but after 6 episodes it goes back to the usual style. No romance, but the leads look so adorable with their on screen chemistry. So many characters and a very complicated story with a revenge plot. Some scenes are really interesting. The screenplay is very engaging till some point and some portions are very dragging and felt unwanted.

Acting wise everyone did their part perfectly. I still don't get why they titled this as Revenge of Others. Because it doesn't suite after some episodes ?

So overall Revenge of others was decent and followed the typical usual kdrama endings with so many compromises in the screenplay. It understandable if it is a tv drama but for orginals we expect something different.

Not completely satisfied.....

Adorei

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The story is certainly interesting and holds you from beginning to end, you find yourself submerged in that suspense, you try to enjoy the mystery but when you think you know something, in reality you don't know and you're not even sure of anything. The drama manages to keep a good rhythm throughout the episodes.

The performances are good and the characters make sense, and contribute directly or indirectly to the development of the story. Speaking of which, I loved the protagonist couple, they had a lot of chemistry.

In the end, I definitely advise you to watch this drama.
