Need more episodes to be coherent
8 episodes of 15 mins each is clearly not enough to showcase the story that this series is going for. We have quite a few complicated characters that make up this story but due to limited time or reasons unknown the series mainly focuses on Han Ba Da.Han Ba Da is a chef from a renowmed restaurant but due to conflicts with the boss who is also his boyfriend decides to run after his dream of opening up a seaside Udon restaurant. He is great at making udon noodles but is goofy, gullible and is not comfortable talking to people. Not the right mixture for running a successful business. There is also his ex-boyfriend who wants him back working at his restaurant and will not shy away from destroying his reputation.
Enter Tommy who is a wannabe musician who has seen no success and comes to this small seaside town for inspiration. Here he meets awkward Han Ba Da and decides to help him pursue his dreams in the process falling in love with him.
The story is about failure, rediscovery, persistence and patience and would have been aptly showcased only with more time and episodes. This highly edited story isn't stitched together coherently and characters come and go with no effect to the story. We needed more understanding of the character of Tommy and his struggles instead of just Han Ba Da.
All in all a good watch since its not too long but dont expect a lot from the story.

Cute but a little forgettable
The storyline itself had potential; however, I feel they didn't do it justice. The script writers could have done a little better of a job and it would also have been nice if they had a little more variety in the music although I was very excited and surprised by the cameo of 2Z.To be honest, although I know this is a web series and therefore short, I still felt that the plot was a little rushed. I also feel that it was a little unnecessary to add more conflict at the end of episode seven. I was not too fond of the ending either.
The series had beautiful aesthetics though. I loved the shots they did of the ocean and the docks and loved the look of the udon restaurant. Han Gi Chan and Holland had good chemistry and were adorable together. Holland did very well in his first-ever acting performance and I love him. It would be nice to see him grow in his acting ability and feature in more shows.
Overall, the drama is adorable and I recommend it to people who are looking for something cute and not very serious to pass time .

Good Holland song, mid show
the chemistry between the two felt a little forced, was alright. the story was also pretty cliche and at times felt random, especially with the year apart, which felt very dramatic as if Tommy went to prison without access to modern technology or something. anyhow, I’m not gonna recommend this over other BLs but each to their own. The OST made me watch, so at least there’s a bit of content to take away and enjoy, it would’ve hit harder as a song if the story was actually emotionally interesting but I’d be lying if I said I felt moved by the couple.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
Aurait pu être bien meilleur
Coucou tout le monde, me voilà pour mon avis sur Ocean Like Me.Je pense que cette série mérite juste la moyenne car elle a de gros défauts qui sont juste rattrapés par des points forts indéniables, je m'explique :
Le pitch de départ est intéressant mais je pense que l'écriture du scénario est tellement faiblarde, qu'au bout du compte le drama est très creux. Les scènes se suivent sans vraiment de logique, les événements n'ont pas ou trop peu d'explications et les background des personnages ne sont aucunement développés.
Pourtant avec Han Gi Chan comme acteur, je les croyais bien partis car je connais son potentiel de jeu, l'ayant vu dans d'autres production comme Where Your Eyes Linger. Quand à Holland, ça me faisait énormément plaisir de voir une production BL coréenne qui osait enfin faire jouer une personne faisant partie ouvertement de la communauté LGBT et j'avoue beaucoup l'aimer pour ce qu'il fait mais aussi ce qu'il représente. Malheureusement, il a du être bien mal dirigé car on voit le potentiel qu'il a malgré son inexpérience dans le domaine mais ça ne donne que très peu de résultats, j'espère le voir dans d'autres productions qui seront mieux menées que celle-ci.
Si on regarde qui a écrit ce scénario, on se rend compte qu'il s'agit de la même personne qui a fait Oh ! Boarding House qui reprenait ces petites scénettes qui s'enchainent mais, au bout d'un moment on avait un peu plus de cohérence qu'ici.
Justement, dans les points positifs, on peut mettre l'OST qui est plutôt bon, les fans de Holland adoreront je pense. Autre bon côté, la photographie : nous avons l'océan, mais surtout l'océan en hiver. Des prises de vues originales et magnifiques desquelles se dégagent une atmosphère calme et apaisante comme ce que nous promet le synopsis de la série, en cela le pari est remporté.
Côté réalisation propre, je dirai que la série réussit à ne pas tomber dans tous les clichés BL, on a une romance non agressive dans un environnement non homophobe et c'est rafraichissant. Malheureusement, il n'y a pas réellement d'histoire et ça reste très fade, sans parler du maquilleur de la série qu'ils ont du recruter sur le casting du dernier film de zombie en date parce que là, pardon !
En résumé, je dirai qu'il faut au moins lui donner sa chance pour découvrir cette ambiance et ces paysages, voir la première prestation de Holland et tenter de passer au-dessus des côtés négatifs que le drama peut avoir.

Lighthearted
I started this because i was in search of watching BL, any bl and the mmc of this i have already seen one other bl of his and i loved that one so here we are....This drama is sooo wholesome, Ba Da came near sea to sell his udon and a girl traps him and gives him her shop in turn for 7:1 profit, larger portion for her. Amidst all this he meets a young charmer Tommy who gives him a reality check and helps him make his business flourish... I just love love love it.
They are already living together.... How can not one love thissssss......aghhhhhhhhh. DOING GROCERY SHOPPING TOGETHER, its soo husband coded. TOMMY IS SOAKING HIS LEGS IN WARM WATER cause he steps on udon dough everyday and he dont want it to happen...... CUTIE PATOOTY. i hate when the ex comes in the drama, why why why, u have broken up and just get the fuck outta their lives..... UNLESS ITS A SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE (which i dont likes unless its WELCOME TO SHAM-DALRI)\
The little blur of misscommunication, Tommy went away but Ba Da found him and they had earth shattering kisss.
Their chemistry is chemistryingggggggggg and lemme tell u, THEY ARE THE COUPLR OF KBL for me... yeah i said it.
When babes support each other's dream, it is everything to me..... love BA DA love TOMMY.
I dont understand why the seperation between the leads is necessary, like cant they suffer BUT TOGETHER!?!?!? but at the end when they reunite and everything is rainbows, it is all worth it though but STILL KEEP THEM TOGETHER FFS!!!!
so this is 10/10 for me and even someone comes at me declaring they rated it 9/10, bruh come and fight me, i am not afraid i will fight em w my life.....
