MY TOP THAI BLS

ITSAY is cinematically beautiful. It’s one of two of the best BLs I’ve ever seen.  The acting is emotive and raw, the story resonant and palpable, and the characters relatable and fleshed out. You feel every bit of hurt and frustration the characters feel themselves. No matter your age, it will remind you of the all encompassing feelings of first love and the heartbreak that goes with it. This series is on the level of a mainstream production. Everything is high quality - the cinematography, the set design, the costuming, the soundtrack, the acting, the supporting cast, the story, the plot - everything.

The bl aspect is a very small part of the story even though a few of the characters are queer. In terms of production and acting, this series is one of the better Thai ones. Singto and Fluke are really very good in this.

They’re probably my favourite pairing in Thai bl world because their chemistry is not only top tier but each half of the pairing is equally responsible for why their dynamic works. Usually there is one half of a pairing who is the reason you like that pair but in Boun and Prem’s case, they’re both great individually and together. Although, I think they are at their most best together.

This is why I think the first half of this series was so good because it focused on what works, which is Win being only an inch from Team’s face at all times. Their moments together is the strength of this series and when they focus on just that; this is where the series shines. Even though I think the second half has its strong moments (like Prem’s emotive acting and the emotional scenes from a few other characters), they strayed a bit to far away from what we liked about WinTeam and that is their straightforward relationship and soft moments. This got lost in the plot during the second half. 

This is actually a story with a lot of potential but the production failings and that annoying laugh track (although I was able to ignore it somewhat) let‘s It down. The story itself is quite decent though and the leads have good chemistry. This is one of those I wish could be remade because with a better production it could be great.
