after watching this movie i wonder why this is in the comedy category?!? cause it aint hilarious or even funny, yeah u laugh once in a while, but u also do so in any genre, even in horror flicks there r funny bits, doesn't make it a comedy.

this was kinda sad. especially given the FL's back-story and life in general. as tough as she seems to be, that's how fragile she really is. found that endearing and heart breaking.
the movie is written and "shot" in a way that took a while to really know the characters, everything is unclear at the beginning (even towards the middle) and u go by what u see.

there r the bullies or Queen Badass Young Sook and her male counterpart Kwang Shik, who run sh*t and r in an alliance. not romantically involved, even though Kwang Shik begs-to-differ.

then there is Joong Gil the player, who needs to flirt and "get it on" with every girl in school. he was childhood buds with Young Sook, and is her childhood sweetheart. who she is not so secretly pining over. add fire to the flame by adding So Hee, a supposedly fragile sick girl transferring from the big city. and of course she has to be drop-dead-gorgeous (not in my personal opinion, cause even as a mean-girl Young Sook's baby-face wins), so Joong Gil who needs to conquer every girl in the vicinity, will fall head-over-heels for.

this is what u see, and then in the middle u start to get more info about each character that changes ur view and opinion about them.

the ending reminded me off Officer and A Gentleman with Richard Gere and Debra Winger, which was cute but not executed for full effect, as in the American movie mentioned. but positive ending, so whatever.

this was weird... from start to end i was like " what the freak is going on".... there wasn't much logic why he started bothering her, why a kiss equated to marriage. especially to a guy that doesn't like being touched?!?
then there's her acting, which was weirder... that whole scene where for whatever reason she is in a phonebooth being accosted but a dude that's down for a booty-call? guess hookers hang out in phone booths in korea?!? but lets overlook logic cause it was "funny", weird funny but funny - so whatever...

her bff was as idiotic as her, but then inserting some random dude from the USA, then those weird girls - that she takes a beating from, all making u wonder WTAF... but still u go along cause u r hoping that this crazy ride ur on, will get on the tracks somewhere... but NOPE, add another dude that's into her - why? who the f*ck knows, cause seriously she aint all that! not looks-wise or otherwise.

think i really had it with her when she slapped him and then rationalized it by saying she didn't want him to fight those seniors - like u f*cking serious?!? u know from previous encounters that he doesn't like them, but u still hang out with them and when he gets there - u still sit there with the STUPID look on ur face - waiting for what? shocked that he tells u to get up?!? she caused him to get hit, and then she adds insult to injury and slaps him? plz

after that all her tears were worth sh*t - i can't stand cry baby female leads that act like stupid idiots or worst mega b*tches and then cry... as if tears absolve them of everything - sorry don't get what everyone else is liking about this. not my cup of tea - is putting it mildly.

kinda shocked nobody has watched this - cause this was the BOMB, its so funny - freaking hilarious - and no it aint a comedy, but loads of dry-humor. and it's got Han Suk-kyu (bleeding Master kim, and even a scene or two with Mrs. Oh - Jin Kyeong, made me smile)... the story isn't exactly "A noble, high-class scholar starts to write erotic novels in 18th century of Chosun dynasty. He falls in love with a king's woman."
the beginning needed a bit more info / explaining, as to why Inspector Kim's younger brother was tortured by the King and his adviser. maybe something was lost in translation (or it was just meant to draw a picture that Inspector Kim was a coward) btw the subs were really good so not blaming 'them' for not getting the context.

but the rest is Inspector Kim's aspirations to become a good/successful adult (erotic) books author. as it happens he catches the queens eye, and as she is beautiful and he Male - even a coward can only ignore, the advances and invitations of a beautiful woman. even before he takes the leap, she is his muse, and one thing leads to another.

this movie is for adult viewing - for sure, there ain't much nudity or sex scenes, but the dialog is very explicit and doesn't leave much too imagination. this was a fun watch. yeah the end when the queen finds out about the book, and the consequences aren't fun, but kind predictable.
still really A good movie and i highly recommend this too people who aint avers to the subject of sex and r into dark/dry/dirty humor.

first off hats off to any actor that is ready to commit to a role, no matter their personal sexual orientation - u either give it ur all, or not at all. so hats off KJW for one hell of a convincing and XD hot performance. but lets face it, even though this was light and it focused more on the fun and hilarity between all character's. this was so much more and felt like it was brushed to the side or not addressed - like Soo Young's crush on Sun Woo, that came to not - heck after Jin Hyuk's mother and grandmother walked in, it was just brushed aside and then they all went on as if the whole scene with the slap didn't happen - so why even have that?!?

same with Jin Hyuk totally noticing Sun Woo in high-school, and maybe i'm reading more then was, but i feel like Jin Hyuk isn't straight - if anything, with the kidnapping and trauma, it indicated that he was averse to being close to Men - cause of what happened - hinting on sexual trauma - which again came to not - heck the real person that kidnapped him got away with "murder". and now the question that's left open, that woman just kidnaped the fat kid, or also all the others that lost their lives? and if she only wanted to "play with them" - then why they have to die?!? and the dude with the limp, just "take" Jin Hyuk - and after getting stabbed - quit cold-turkey?!? really?!? and why she look like a battered wife? that whole situation - just confusing.

this was good, but far from perfect - loved seeing them looking so young - they also looked like they were having a blast in this movie - but this could've been better - a lot of open ends that left me wanting... oh well guess can always look up the novel/webtoon this was adapted from. maybe all the questions i've got, will be answered there

this was great, if u only consider North and Ongsah, they were the cream of the crop, they made this drama from the start and cause of them i pulled through no matter how ruff and annoying it got - everyone else (all the moronic unrealistic "filler" side stories fell to the side lines) Ongsah + North made this worth the headache to figure out what was going on. they were a class act to the end and even their "coming together" was lovely and fitting for a BL romantic conclusion -

the rest was a mess - each so called couple was a bad parody of what couples r, load of stories and scene went nowhere, if this focused on one or two instead of branching off every which way, just to fill each episode. this would've been less of a mess to view.

Jedi and Indy couple were a joke - all cause of his sisters death that went nowhere - she was murdered but that not important as long as we got them making out?? same with Arm and Ten even more of bad joke - what was the point of them? other then just character's to gossip about Ongsah and North, follow Indy on his ghost hunt - what was the point of them? But the worse by far Wan and Mai - that pairing felt abusive, exploitative and a very bad stereotyping about what gay guys r all about - i.e. horny animals - all of the time, Wan looked like he was being forced into something he didn't want and then just going along with the more aggressive, dominant, sexually manipulative Mai - as if it wasn't enough that these two started out after being blind drunk - they had to end with drugs - again? that was funny? cute? sweet?? this was sick - considering the actors ages even more so...

whatever - not a rewatch and bummer - cause won't suffer the others just to watch Ongsah and North. btw his mother and Ken's weird connection turned out to be nothing - aish like i said a lot of carp cluttering the main really sweet story - sad

Not Satisfying

this isn't the usually fluffy romcom BL, that i'm used to. it was "raw" and too real, to "take" this as anything but a serious drama -the fact that some of the character's represent the LGBTQ community is inconsequential.
this was good - in spite of the seriousness of every topic, and how "real" and depressing it got from time to time (even the romance is almost nonexistent to an extant). but like in a load of Thai drama's, the number of character's and storylines was mindboggling - especially when the ending was a quick wrap up - which if "they" freakin managed their "time" better (ironic - as the last episode everyone was going on about time management) this would've been a more fulfilling conclusion, when we got to "the end". this was 26 episode after all - u want to tell me they couldn't divide the stories between all the episode's and give each one the respect "it" needed, to unfold and some kind of reasonable ending to each?!? plz - donno who to blame, but this could've been so much more -

and yet this was good - the actors as young as they r did a great job making u live their happiness, hurt and pain - there wasn't a boring moment, interesting until the end - if only this had focuses!!! chose a few good storylines and run with them, instead of this mess that (brings me back to) not satisfying ending. yeah u kinda get a "wrap up" on each story, but nothing conclusive and a lot is left open - so Not Satisfying - when u want / need a happy ending for the character's u loved / cared for, throughout this -

there isn't a lead per-say - so no side character's. each story had its lead but with so many stories, it was a mess and counterproductive - which reinforces the point i was trying to make above. going into this u think Mong is the lead - but nope he is the first character u get to know, and through him u get to meet additional character's. like the annoying Jod - and ironically these two's story is more a buddy, friendship growing-up and finding their path in life storyline.
then u meet Ter and Jin who r the guys that r the romantic knights in shining armor - ready to sacrifice themselves for girls, that don't know they exist or don't care to know - and yet these two persist until the not so bitter end - well in one case - the other just gets complicated and i really donno why, as at the end they add a supposed love triangle with the sibling coming to realize that the person he was helping woo his sister, he himself fell for - and as there was "No time" to deal with this at all. i'm left wondering WTH?!???

then we have a trio of girls - roommate's(?) that u get from the start that both Melon and White r infatuated with Om. but their stories took so many twists and turns and was left with "...they spent the weekends in White's room..." - and i'm like WTF??? then why even have them in this drama, just so we get a representation ??? plz

the one i started to watch this for, was Ngern whom i loved in Love Sick and i watched the 2nd season cause of him, but the dude doesn't get a break there or here. and even though "came" for him, the one that stole my heart was Ti - he so sweet, naïve and pure of heart - hard not to love this character - and the fact that the sec Hall (the womanizer) notices him, he is "hooked" just made this that much more sweeter (as Hall or rather Kim playing him, is another actor that i really enjoy seeing, loved him in 2Moons and Gen Y). so of course was rooting for their story, which was developing at a snails pace. but still added the much needed spark to liven things up, let alone lift my spirits as most of the storylines were rather depressing, even angering. and of course Hall's childhood-bud (who is gay, but still in the closet) has a crush on his bff since forever, and the end for them, is both of them whispering in Hall's ears and him smiling and i'm like "well f*ck u very much - i deserve better after sticking it out until the end..."
so any "stars" go to the actors and their acting - in spite of all the emotion's bombarding me (and most, not so pleasant) i didn't want to stop and was so interested in where this was going and how it would end, and then got to the end and felt cheated.

perfectly imperfect

know there r others that will disagree, but this movie exceeded my expectation's - first off reading the description was sure Toey was gay (cause this is a BL) and he had broken up with his gay-lover and was journeying to mend his broken heart, and meets Oat "...who is on his bachelor finale trip.." and presto he falls in-love as u do. boy was i wrong -

before anything have to say Toey's ex was brutal - like i get her breaking-up with him, but the sh*t that came out of her mouth - u don't demolish a persons soul just cause u want out of a relationship - and considering she already had a new guy. she could've just owned up to that and not annihilated his self-esteem on her way out. really there was no reason for it - other then to just be a mega-b*tch.

Oat - from the sec he set eyes on Toey, he was "hooked" - maybe it was his last chance to "sow his wild oats" or maybe he was just attracted to Toey, u could see it with his stealing glances - so his actually being gay isn't a shocker. if anything it's sad that in-spite of being gay he got into a relationship with a girl and has fathered a child, that he really doesn't want - neither the kid nor the wife. what a "happy family"?!?
but considering his father being a military man, him being intolerant towards anything that isn't "normal" is implied, so maybe it's not astonishing that Oat got himself a "beard" - and yet it's sad for everyone involved -

even though the story was pretty clam, it was turbulent cause of all the emotional turmoil going on in each character, and the conversations with Yumi were so needed - she is the clam in a tempestuous sea... everyone really did a great job - loved Toey the most - he brought his A game, the confusions, hurt, anger - let alone his starting to open up and even fall for Oat - he was so great - like an open book that was easy and very enjoyable to read - hard not to like and root for a character like this. donno what awaits in the sequel just hope Toey gets a happy ending - even though i enjoyed how this ended - and even if i didn't know that there is a sequel - i would've enjoyed how this ended, cause it was logical. its left open - does Toey delete Oat's friend request, breaking all contact with him or does he chance it and accept him and everything that may come by choosing that path?!? (well don't have to guess, like u usually do - as just need to check out the sequel).

hit and a miss

this had potential - ironically reading the description u think that there is only the main story - which wondered at the start of this drama, why is it called Love Poison and not (logically) Love Potion - considering the "sacred water" and the insinuation the word "poison" invokes - but watching this from start to finish, its freakin Fitting to say the least.

lets start with the good - Tak - this character stole the show, donno where this dude came from, but the sec he was on scene - he owned the drama and every character in it. the actor is really good-looking but it was his charisma that had u at the word go. he a player and he oozed sluttry looks, innuendos and flirtatious words - it came naturally to him like breathing air - so little wonder everyone around was ready to drop their panties for him XD literally and figuratively. this dudes go to method, to dealing with any situation was flirting with or just trying to vanquish it sexually.. even if it was a apparition (and that whole scene was redundant, as that ghost served no purpose other then to show us Tak could get it on with a ghost and satisfy it, from the sounds of things - that whole scene was just weird).
but Tak came of scene to be Sek (Ko's older brothers) counter part - he basically came to warn Sek of his new gf and how she was a user and bad news, considering she had dated and used him previously - but Tak was more interested in making moves on Sek - their courting was fun to watch. hell Tak was fun to watch and his two sidekicks really added to the entertaining atmosphere - distracting from the main boring story. and this was great until episode 7 where the main nuisance took over -

the bad - Ko, first off don't care who u r or who u love, but forcing their "hand" by using potion, drugs, hypnosis or any other means, that trick them into doing something they would never do lucidly is a B.S. trope - so yeah get, cause this is a comedy it was supposed to be whatever... and i could ignore the idiocy of the idea - but the sec Teng didn't fall in-line and he still retained his individuality and reason - choosing to woo Nuan (the girl he fell for)asking her to be his gf. he suddenly turned into the persona non grata / bad-guy, why?? cause he didn't fall inline with Ko's grand plan. who died and made Ko queen?!?
get falling in-love with someone and wondering how and what u can do to make that person love u back - even if they of the same sex. even to go to the ridiculous extant of going to some shaman for some "Potion can will change ur crushes sexual preference" - but when a person doesn't get brainwashed, he the bad-guy - what logic is this??
if anything Ko is the bad-guy who befriended Teng only cause he wanted to get close enough to "drug" him with that "sacred water", so Teng wouldn't suspect anything and drink it - he kept being friendly and close to Teng in the hopes that it would activate the "water" and when none of this worked and Teng still followed his heart and went for Nuan , he the bad-guy that gets ghosted and treated like he cheated or set-out to manipulate and hurt Ko from the start?!? plz

the ugly - is the conclusion, Ko ghosting Teng without any explanation - even when Teng finds out and cause he considers Ko a friend, he cares for - he apologizes (when he didn't need to - as he freaking didn't do anything wrong!!!) and gets rebuffed heartlessly - cause Ko butthurt... then add insult to injury Ko leaning on Tak who follows suit to act as Ko's bf - all to make Teng feel jealous and make him grovel to get back in Ko's good graces. add to this alcohol and weird sex and more selfish moronic tantrums thrown by Ko - ignoring his own brother that has developed feeling for Tak but is taking a backseat cause he "dating" Ko. and now u get why i started this review as i did - i donno what the writer was thinking and why anyone would think this was fun or funny - i fast-forwarded the last episode cause Ko didn't deserve a happy ending - given the 3 stars only to Tak and Sek who were the saving grace of this drama, but even their story imploded in the last episode, that was wrapped up very unsatisfyingly...

so having binge watched this drama i'm left baffled as to why everyone else in the comment section was so elated. and yeah the story was cute and it's great that everyone of the BL's coming out of the Philippine's isn't the same baseline story/plot that has a miniscule twist. here every story is unique and the actors give it their all - in spite of their true sexual orientation.
but that doesn't always mean the character's r good / root - worthy (if that's a word) like Kian, from the word go - u get he is a spoilt brat, he is the apple of his parents eye - and even if they r at that sec having a minor problem - it isn't cause they hate him, so he can act-up and chose to go "lick his wounds" in their village villa, like the immature baby he is - as he doesn't have to fend for himself - he has a live in nanny in the shape of Aron.
who is a kid just like him - but has had a polar opposite life and upbringing to Kian. they might be the same age, but cause of the way they grew-up, Aron seems decade's older. yet in spite of all the hardships he had to endure All Alone he is a well rounded, good, thoughtful, kind individual - can't say the same for Kian, who has been so overindulged, it has prevent him from maturing and acting like a freakin adult -

so even as a Bromance this falls short as Kian is all about Kian, treating Aron as a joke - at the best of times a play thing not a friend or equal - and at worse time as "the help" that needs to know his place. and we have to be elated cause Aron has a soft spot - cause of childhood memories? when Kian didn't even have the decency to visit his so called friend, one he claims is "cherished by him" so much when his only family member (father) died??. only now does he find out that Aron's father committed suicide - and this boy had to deal with it all alone - and Kian is worthy to be called a friend - let alone a good one?!? k

the only reason i would come back to watch a second season, is so i can see Aron achieving something and getting successful - he has lived a hard life from childhood - and as i mentioned, he is a beautiful individual inside and out - he deserves something good happening to him. and as in the last episode he gets a scholarship, something that will enable him to follow his dreams and make something of himself - not rot in that village and become a caretaker like his father to Kian's parents farm. and at last Kian also showed a spec of maturity, when he told Aron to follow his dream - so at least that was some kind of saving grace and maybe an indicator that Kian will start to grow-up (fingers crossed)...

this is my 3rd Pino BL and it doesn't disappoint - in each BL we had totally different types of gays. and i mention this, not cause its astounding. but i'm so used to seeing more or less the same types portrayed in BL's that its refreshing to see the variety here - showing u that u can't pigeonhole people, just cause of their sexual orientation - they just people from all walks of life -

but have to say didn't like Mico - tough character to like, its not that he's bad, just personality wise he is self-centered and narcissistic. everyone tends to sympathize with the nerdy gay that has just realized his sexual orientation, someone who is portrayed as the underdog. but in spite of everything Mico is anything but an underdog. and there was some mention / hints of family problems (guess a kind of expiation / excuse for his personality) which came to not... and the little u hear of his mother - she comes off mean. making u feel sorry for Mico. but when u see his actions and attitude, he so isn't the weak pushover that is being taken advantage off.
if anything the one that stole the show (for me) was Xavier - this dude - wow. first off his smile alone is infectious. and then u add his personality, sweet, funny, fun, loving, caring, understanding, strong and flirtatious (but not in a sleazy "i know i'm so hot" way- which he so is :D) more a natural - its freakin oozing from his pores way. and top this all off by being a genuinely good human-being who is also vulnerable and has a sad side - who can help but fall for this big fluffy puppy?!?

it was too short and i feel like Mico was undeserving of his friend's or Xavier, like i mentioned he tends to look at life as in "how this gonna benefit me" attitude - heck his whole outlook is revolving around himself, and maybe its understandable when u think about his family and all that mess - but who doesn't have baggage?? and yet almost every character could put their needs, worries even hurt to the side and treat the individual in front of them with respect and care. giving not only taking.
even the big heartache scene was caused by Mico - where he was so worried he was going to get hurt, he rushed to "run over" Xavier, not even noticing he was left "bloody and broken" - he was to involved in throwing himself a pity party.
and yet this was good and yeah a rewatch - heck need me a daily fix of Xavier's smile, even seeing more of Kookai and Seph budding romance, and last but not least Junjun's quirky personality -

much better the the first...

glad i didn't let the first movie put me off and read comments to decide for or against - this was way better - even funny (can't writer funnier, cause that wasn't funny). also guess this is a "sequel" just cause we've got Khao from the first movie - which considering it had nothing to do with the first movie (well other then the beginning) it could "stand all on its own" and u really don't need to watch the first one, in-order to "get" this.

the character's were fun as individual's - the 2 trans women, Tangkwa and Bua were not just side character that showed up when needed, they had their own thing going on. even Hanoi who was a major pain in the butt, and i wanted to punch him or his sister for turning him into such a spoilt brat, was endearing as u watched the story unfold.

this was a fun movie - wont say perfect or even a rewatch - Nut was/is freakin gorgeous just to look at - but his whole side story was WTF sideline - like he didn't take money from Khao just to turn around a sell himself to that weirdo that looked like a freakin caricature, of a rich overly cosmetically, enhanced gay sugar daddy? that crazy dude that only demanded his "love" in return for the money and of course - turned him into some kind of prisoner in that high-end flat of his. then just cause he wants to know who Nut contacted, Nut had "enough" cause that's invasion of privacy - and i'm like, what privacy?? u sold urself with no terms or contract, u pretty much his sex-slave - and then... that crazy dude pulls a gun, cause Nut is trying to leave and - nothing happens - cause he back at the café looking for work and also back with Khao, just in time for the 30 day celibacy period to end - the end - confused? yeah - but all in all this is way better then the first, so i'm fine - even with this weird ending...

his was ok, nothing more. 1st have to point out the subs r bad (guess whomever translated, used google translate). so it's English but not related to whatever we see in the scene. let alone the Japanese dialogue isn't translated & if that wasn't enough, the vid kept buffering. so this took ages to finish (which wouldn't mind, if the plot was interesting). it had it's moments, but on a whole this was meeh...

i like Ma Dong Seok, think he is a very versatile actor in-spite of the look. but cause of his look, most of his movies r him portraying a human wrecking ball. which seems repetitive IMHO (been there seen that). also cause of his "Might" (even though he's human) seeing anyone stand-up after one punch from him, is ludicrous - like come on, there's no freakin way they weren't punched straight into an ICU

side note: what kinda shocked me, took me a while to recognize Lee Joon Hyuk (loved him in Stranger) here idk what the makeup artist did, but he looks bloated & bad.

about the movie/plot; a generic plot which was ok. wasn't blown away by anything. there were a lot pf plot holes if anything. the fights were brutal, but grew monotonous as we went from one fight to another. a one off

didn't enjoy this as much as i did the drama - getting that off my chest this was cute, with bits of funny, fluffiness taking us back to the 1st season (and this is only taking into considering everything happening before the Aunt from hell came to visit), and then they added Terrence into the mix, and i was like WTF (he was a detestable character in the 1st season and he didn't fair any better in the side-story: Alt.Gameboy). so brining in Wesley was adding insult to injury - plus who the frack gave two f*cks about these two, and their "budding romance"?!? not me that's for sure. and having (cutie-pie) Achilles sober up to the fact that he doesn't need Terrence in his life - blocking him, was supposed to absolve that annoying side romance? like plz.. i for sure wouldn't have been able to be as levelheaded, as he was when he finally confronted the f*cker - that was big of him - as Terrence deserved worse then what he got (and not even gonna go into gorilla boy trying to defend his mate - when he had no clue why Achilles when off the sec he noticed Terrence - so freakin glad Pearl was around the second time, to pull him away cause dude needed a reality-check ugh!!!).

the Aunt as infuriating and condescending adding much needed fuel to this "story" which wasn't amounting to much - other then Gavreel running after Cairo, who was playing hard to get - same old same old ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so adding some much needed drama, added some interest to this trope plot. donno how they gonna develop it considering the end - but i guess they now have another reason to communicate via web-apps... so throw-back to the 1st season(?) that's a lead into the 2nd(?!?) left to be seen - but the confrontation between both lovers and the Aunt was Very satisfying - even if her last shot kinda shut them both up and threw a spanner into their well laid plans.

what Must applaud - for yrs have been reading manga's/webtoons - seen numerous movies and drama's that were all BL's themed and this was the first(!) time where the couple flipped and i literally cheered - yeah it was hot - smokin and after all the wooing Gav was doing, let alone their emanant parting it was fitting. but the fact that they showed that there aint No set rules(!) that there aint no predesigned roles - there aint no uke, seme = top or bottom, but just love and affection and what felt right - this movie was just worthy viewing, for that scene... so thank you

i didn't like this movie - there was little point to it. the description doesn't begin to explain how messed-up, these two r and i know that cousins sleeping together isn't incest per-say, it might be frowned upon and not encouraged, but i've heard of cousins marring - so sex between cousins isn't that shocking and Not the "messed-up" part - everything that happens cause of their relationship, and how they treat each other, let alone people they in a relationship with, is the Messed-up part.

from the sec Naoko knows Kenji is back in their aunt's house - in their home town, she goes to him with an agenda (that's pretty obvious) whether its to get him to impregnate her, or just to recapture the sexual bliss of the past, i until the end aint sure. but she for sure isn't that happy about her intended groom, let alone the marriage.
ironically the first meeting between them - u feel that Kenji doesn't like Naoko, it almost feels like he addicted to her and doesn't like his addiction. maybe as he pointed out, he felt guilty and dirty cause they were cousins. while she was in-love and seems like, has never gotten over him...

usually i enjoy slow-paced movies with almost no dialogue and long pauses - here i was bored. the sex was animalistic and not titillating in the least - always felt like they weren't really enjoying themselves - but like addicts they just kept at it, cause of some "call of nature" - coming together time and again cause of that "need" but never reaching the "high".
the dialogue that existed - especially where Naoko got on her soap-box preaching / justifying the things she was doing and why it was right - like the marriage - like the need to get pregnant - like her fixation on Kenji and how it was cause they were blood-related, everything seemed contrived and empty. and all the reference's to the natural disasters, was all the more infuriating considering the suffering of others - compared to this self-involved human - who was living a good life, compared to lives - whole families obliterated...

the ending like this whole movie, is about these two messed-up people, she finds a way to get out of the marriage even though her leaving Kenji , one would think she matured and knows Kenji will never really be ok with them being together, cause they related - so she realizes this and will move on - Nope - she finds a way to get out of her marriage and gets back to the original sexual relationship with Kenji... this lead to a happily ever after(?) or another child that will not know his father(?!?) - idk. and that's why this felt pointless - there was no growth. no promise of a future... so No - i didn't like this and its for sure a one off

where to begin, doono why the movie is named Lady Vengeance, yeah everything is somehow tied to her, but still - for me the real Vengeance was the part with the grieving families - them finding out what really happened to their kidnapped kids - the turmoil, the arguments and conclusion - them taking the law into their own hands, meting out justice - was intense, understandable and relatable... that alone was worth the rest of time that was wasted watching this.

the FL aint likeable, the back story with all the women was redundant, most of them didn't play any or just minor roles in her "grand" revenge scheme. the only one that did do sh*t was the last one (who got beat by the fat cannibal lezbo cause she allowed a mosquito to bite her), as she went and got into a relationship with that psycho after getting paroled, keeping tabs on him and thus being close enough to drug him when the time came.

the FL was all over the place - not always justified or logical... like her going to meet-up with her daughter. searching for her - logical, as she needed to make sure she was alive and well. but when u r hell bent on revenge, why drag ur child into it?!? doesn't make sense. finish what you've started, what's more urgent, then go see ur daughter when its safe - no???

the ending also, WTH was that? the kid wakes up coughing on the thick smoke in the room, rushing out in the snow, in bare-feet, her adoptive parents asleep? dead?!??? left unanswered... why?

donno, just weird and not in a good way, even anticlimactic, she got 13yrs for kidnapping a kid - which was the truth, and she may not have physically choked/killed him, but her kidnapping him enabled that psycho to do what he loves best, and her confessing to save her child/baby enabled him to continue kidnapping and killing more children - so she wasn't framed or wrongly sentenced. but she enabled all those families to find justice and peace, so something came out of this movie.
