Reseñas
The Prince Who Turns into a Frog (Taiwanese original story)
Waking Love Up (Chinese remake)
Forget You Remember Love (Chinese remake)
Story:
I think almost everyone can agree that this drama began with potential, but it started going downhill.
The plot started where Lookpat was running a small resort and she uses a made-up legend if you see a frog with your significant other, you are destined to be together (I honestly don't remember the whole accuracy of the legend). Kin visits the village in order to make a luxury resort because he actually has a mortgage on the land. There is an incident where Kin forgets his memories and Lookpat and her family use this as an opportunity to stop him from building the resort. Lookpat and Kin fall in love, but Kin, later on, regains his memories but claims he doesn't remember what happened in the village (which was a total lie). He treats Lookpat as a servant afterwards.
The main plot was honestly a mess. I would've given the story a lower rating, but I liked the first few episodes before Kin was all mean. The last 2-4 episodes were so rushed. Those last-minute solutions (I guess ), just felt so weird.
I also really just enjoyed watching Lookhin and Hansa, they honestly carried the series for me and I would pretty much only look forward to their parts. Hansa seemed very entitled, but she is actually very caring and had character development. Lookhin also just funny and cute going along with Hansa's antics. They were the reason why I kept with the series (besides the OST, but I will get into that).
Acting:
Acting on the other hand was good. I think anyone can say that you didn't like Kin at all and I think that was the point in a way. Son was so convincing as Kin I just wanted to scream at him. Vill also did well with the whole head of the house thing. Her character did act pretty dumb at times that it felt unnatural, but I blame that on the story rather than her acting.
Ciize was amazing like always. Her performance never disappoints. She always fits whatever character really well and almost perfectly. Pond as well did an amazing. Whenever I watch the stuff he's in, there's a charm and goofiness to his characters. I can't see anyone else playing Lookhin other than him.
The rest of the cast was good/alright, but I think because of their characters, they didn't stand out too much for me.
Music:
Honestly, my favorite part (other then Lookhin and Hansa's part) was the OST. I literally let the intro play because it's so good and so fun to listen to. I enjoyed it so much that I even added it to my Thai music playlist. This is the link to the official MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDR4CyPWQec. There are maybe 1 or 2 more OSTs, but this is the one I listen to all the time.
Overall:
Did I hate it? No. But did I really like it? No. I think this is one of those dramas that I only like certain parts of the series. The series could make more sense if they didn't rush everything in the last few episodes and if they didn't drag on the whole bullying plotline. I really just lost count on the number of plots that were dragged on. I am surprised that I kept up with this series every week without pushing it onto the side. Do I recommend it? Not really. Is it watchable? Yes, just don't blame me if you don't like it one bit even if I said it's watchable. I honestly don't know what to rate it overall, but probably a 7.5 (mainly bc of Lookhin/Hansa and the OST).
