I'm sorry if there's a lot of grammatical mistake, English is not my first language.

After binge watch this drama from the first season, I feel like the season 2 is a disappointment compared to season 1. There is a few major change in this season, most notably the series become a "buddy cop" type of drama instead of a squadron (if you watch this season you will know why).

Although the second season have a more interesting episodic story and character, but the main plot is not as interesting as the first season. the first one is kinda make you want to dig more about Shimazaki's (KimuTaku) and Commander Murata's (Takaya Kamikawa) past, but the second season doesn't have one. To describe it, it's the usual "David vs Goliath" story.

The acting is as good as the first season. but the love-hate relationship between the main 2 character is a bit off for a buddy cop drama, probably due to it having seven episode.

Speaking of why is it only have 7 episode, i think the pandemic could be the main cause and it's acceptable. you can see some re-shoot and there's a bit of plot hole in the series. the show feel rushed after the 4th episode, i think they're once planning a 9-11 episode.

Not the best show to watch if you're not the main lead fan or a fan from season 1. I hope that they can do better in the third season.

As I stated from my first review about the first season of BG: Personal Bodyguard I was a bit nervous how this would hold up to it's predecessor. In my opinion it shocked me that it held up well. A lot of sequels and prequels aren't capable of doing this but this one did.

A lot of the first original cast was in this minus the captain which made me glad about because I did enjoy the cast.

Every plot in this series was different from the first season which I was glad about.

The episodes were fast paced. There was never a slow episode. I think I was able to finish all of these in one day. It wasn't too much and it wasn't too little. It was just right for me. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that there may not be a 3rd installment of this.

A worthy sequel

Kimura Takuya does it again! I don't think I've seen a single bad drama that he's been in.

As for the drama itself, it was a worthy sequel. It had to be cut because of covid but they managed do make it work and you can't really notice that they had to cut 3 episodes except for the fact that it didn't have the usual 10 episodes but just 7. The episodes themselves follow the 1 case/episode and you get to see them protect a lot of people with different needs making it not a boring watch. But you also know what to expect so it's not a drama where you need to but your entire focus on, making it a chill drama even with it's action focus. A drama great for binging but also a drama where you can watch an episode here and there and still be able to catch on what's going on.

There's some nice an subtle character development. There's a hint of romance but it doesn't take over which I like. Shimazaki and his son has a better relationship than in the first season making it an endearing watch as well.

Shimazaki and Takanashi are their usual bickering selves, like brothers, which adds the comedy to the drama.

The music fits the scenes well and the main theme is well recognisable and is a nice tune to listen to.

The show ends with an opening for a season 3 which I would gladly watch. The re-watch value for this one is high since pretty much every episode works as a stand alone, so you can watch your favourite cases without feeling like you have to watch everything from the start.

Anyhow this is a drama that doesn't need that much brain power but isn't boring. And like I say in the beginning this is a worthy sequel and here's hoping for a season 3.

This is a continuation of Season 1 and continues into Season 2. So the story is indeed a continuation.
Honestly, I really like the concept of this bodyguard theme plus the investigation and assistance from the police. The story is good, a bit heavy too and highly recommended to watch, for those who want to watch it please because I will not give spoilers. As for the story, it's really ok and also the addition of a sequel in the second season, as well as camera shooting and cinematography are also really cool, especially about the fight between the two of them, that made me really like this drama.
