I am relatively new to kdramas, so after watching about a dozen of the new ones I wanted to see some older iconic dramas with a well known cast. I found this drama quite engaging and binge watched it to completion in just a couple of days. Yes it has a lot of melodrama, unexpected oscillations between the main leads who were entirely in love one moment and then turn their backs without any heads-up in the next - it felt absolutely weird and unreal. The FL came across as strong and adventurous in the initial episodes and then slowly became a moping crying loser who runs away
and hides things from ML, even abandons him multiple times towards the latter episodes, despite him being kind and honest towards her always. Despite these irritations and nonsensical storyline somehow the drama kept me hooked till the end.
The supporting characters were wonderfully written. The show gave some glimpses into the lives of Chaebol parents with their own unique issues and the pressures and difficulties faced by high school kids who are the next heirs in line. It succeeds in giving the message that being well to do doesn't mean having a happy life by itself, it only brings a different set of problems and troubles for such young adults. There was an interesting dynamic between the mothers of the leads and it led to some of the most funny and heartwarming moments in the show. The FLs mom despite being poor and speech impaired was by no means a doormat and held her own and supported her daughter through all times. The ML and his ex-best friend dynamics were also endearing, I only wished they had an even better ending. Choi Young Do character arc evolves beautifully from absolute bully to endearing friend by the end. Thankfully the FL's male best friend remains just that till the end of the show and this guy's girlfriend character was consistently cute and funny till the end as well. The Rachel character played by Ji Won was tough to digest after seeing her brillant acting in Fight for my Way. Park Shin Hye acted well but she seemed to have trouble in every kissing scene, she could literally be seen cringing away and LMH deserved better lol! Park Hyung Sik was absolutely wasted on this show nevertheless his character was cute and brought some light moments.
Overall the show did have a lot of tropes and Melo but managed to somehow make me invest in every character and watch it through till the end. I plan to rewatch it without all the Melo scenes next time and it it would be a feel good drama. I didn't get the big deal about Lee Min Ho fandom but I started to understand the craze better with this one 😊

I don't know what's wrong with this reviews. Heirs is one of the best k-dramas. The two male leads acting is ultimate and the background score is so good. I still remember every seen of it. I would recommend it to everyone to watch. There is no reason to get bored. ParkShinhe and Lee Minho looked too good together. Every cast member acted so well. Even Min yuk is so cute. Especially his girl friend ????. I love the scenes between the two male leads. They equalled in every way. Everyone knows how good Lee Minho acting is so there is no reason again to say it. I would definitely a watch a season 2 if it comes.

Story

The Heirs, also known as The Inheritors, is a 2013 South Korean drama that takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride through the lives of wealthy high school students. It's a captivating blend of romance, comedy, and drama, exploring themes of class differences, family pressures, and finding your own path.

Heirs of Fortune, Heirs of Destiny:

The story centers around Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho), the exiled heir to a vast empire, and Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), a working-class girl thrust into his world. Their chance encounter in Los Angeles sparks a connection that defies their contrasting backgrounds. Back in Korea, they attend Jeguk High, an exclusive school for the children of chaebols (conglomerate families).

Love Amongst the Elite:

Eun Sang navigates the unfamiliar territory of wealth and privilege, surrounded by other heirs like the arrogant Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin) and the poised Rachel Ryu (Kim Ji Won). Tan, meanwhile, grapples with his family's expectations and his forbidden love for Eun Sang.

Beyond the Fairytale:

The Heirs isn't just a fluffy romance. It delves into the pressures faced by these young people, the burden of inherited wealth, and the struggle to forge their own identities. It tackles societal issues like bullying, family manipulation, and the pursuit of happiness.

Sparkling Cast and Compelling Characters:

The drama boasts a star-studded cast who deliver captivating performances. Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye have undeniable chemistry, while Kim Woo Bin and Kim Ji Won add layers of complexity to their characters. The supporting cast also shines, bringing depth and humor to the story.

A Touch of Whimsy:

Despite its serious themes, The Heirs doesn't shy away from lighthearted moments. The comedic relief is well-balanced, offering a welcome escape from the heavier topics.

A Must-Watch for K-Drama Fans:

Whether you're new to Korean dramas or a seasoned fan, The Heirs has something to offer. It's a well-crafted story with heart, humor, and social commentary. So, grab your popcorn, settle in, and prepare to be transported to the world of Korea's privileged youth.

Cast was great but the story was not it

I watched this drama a while back but I am not just getting to write a review on it. This drama was very disappointing, I was so excited because it had an amazing cast and it was my first lee min ho drama which I was excited for but I regret watching it. The main leads relationship seemed so forced and had zero chemistry. Kim Tan was a terrible character and in my opinion a bit creepy, the way he tried to get close to her or how he followed her around was just weird to me I found that so unattractive. I kept watching for Kim Woo Bin and Krystal but I cringed every time the main leads showed up. Everyone else’s scenes were fine they did great. I loved Park Hyun Sik’s character but other than that the drama was terrible. I haven’t been able to watch any Lee Min ho drama because of how much I disliked Kim Tan. I do not recommend unless you are into super cringy dramas or ones with 100 cliches put into one drama.

K-drama classic

The description is one thing, but what happens after Tan comes to his family home and re-enters high school's walls is a total social avalanche & disruption. There was planty of secondary characters and my favourite are Lee Bo-Na and Choi Young-Do. I like how she evolved from spoiled CEO daughter to Eun Sang almost friend. While Choi Young-Do got me with his character change when he is with Eun Sang. The combination of his frustration and short-temper took a big role in harassing others but with her he is a teddy bear. His father, Choi Dong-wook is mercilessly strict and physically abusive towards him. Choi Young-Dois a complicated character who fights with whole world throughout the drama. It is interesting to watch him change.

I went into this drama without big expectations and what I imagined - I got. It is a good drama with good actors that are on screens till now. I give it 6/10.... or maybe I could strech it to 6,5/10 because plot wasn't too complicated and I liked how the characters were diversed.

Definitely worth a watch.

It took me a second try to watch this as with the first attempt I stopped halfway through the first episode. Lee Min Ho's character Kim Tan has a friend in America which was acted just waaaaay too over the top but he's only in it for the first 4 episodes thank the gods. Besides that I did like everything else so I retried it and I definitely do not regret it.

It was well paced, the ending was nice and long (I hate endings where the couple gets together within the last 10 minutes and then we only have a little time to wrap everything up) and definitely a very fluffy ending. Lee Min Ho did amazing as Kim Tan, Park Shin Hye as Cha Eun Sang was gorgeous, Kim Woo Bin as Choi Yeong Do was the perfect bully turned good guy I have ever seen (and was perfect with second lead syndrome) and Park Hyung Shik was adorable as always. The rest of the cast was amazing as well. They all had amazing chemistry together and you could tell that they definitely had fun while filming. I will most definitely be rewatching this in the future.

The Heirs Review

Korean Cinderella.

It's like Boys Over Flowers 2.0-you got that 1 poor girl surrounded by many, many rich people in a school exclusive for the rich. (And Lee Min Ho)

Has a notable cast. When I watch a drama, I usually only find 2-4 people interesting but here I even found the main casts' parents interesting. Woo Bin was a fresh second lead.

"Love Is The Moment" and Lee Hong Ki's "I'm Saying" were nice OSTs.

『 Why I liked it: Park Shin Hye / second lead syndrome / strong cast 』

one gems of Korean drama regretted not to watch earlier but late is better than never. love the whole concept all character have problem to not come out from their shell and pretend something they don't want or not they are. i like the every those moments where people say "i hate you" which is meaning for them " i love you or i hate to love you " because they want to satisfy their ego than their feelings

CHARACTERS

Choi Yeong Do always know that its his fault but don't want to admit it and broke with kim tan his best friend

kim won always love kim tan as little brother but can't swallow the fact that he is his half brother he always avoid him in fear of not fall in with innocent kim tan to satisfy his anger/ego

kim tan always try to knock his brother heart and even ready get anger in return . kim tan behave like innocent child in front of his brother but for other he matured man enough

jung ji hook may be for other he is villain in my point of view he is only father who want to protect his both son from world in his way he don't wants mess life their sons like him. when he says hard word to kim tan mom he is hurting his woman as well as he is hurting itself that expression said

kim tan mom to near of someone whom she love accept the position as mistress , for future of her son locked in mansion

yoon chan yeong a man with clear conscious who know how uphold love and friendship

lee bo na innocent heart and fake attitude

*** its full package of youth and family drama

***in this drama parents done mistakes and complicated things which affect their child and their upbringing and their life . child are broken inside somehow but cant show it so it get out in another way

***its easy to say in modern world parents have their own life children should not interfere but how come they not children are part of their life . its great if parents children have understanding and they give each other space but they are equally part of each other which affect ones decision to others so basically its communication problem

***my view in whole drama i like all the characters except cha eun sang her character/acting is dull for me so i want to give this drama 9/10 minus one for cha eun sang but then i thought for only one character neglect the whole cast/team work is unfair so i reach 10/10 each character have their own stories, dark sides and positive sides .

***many people hated this drama but i don't want to judge them because every individual have their own taste. which is depend on your culture , upbringing and surrounding from where you belong thats how your like dislike count.

A Kdrama Classic!

This is a classic kdrama that I think everyone should watch.
However, being a classic, and despite me giving it a high rating I wouldn't consider it a great drama. It's very cliche: rich boy, poor girl. There's the typical love triangle, there's a bad boy who only has a soft spot for the female lead. There is also the "evil" family that wants to keep the main leads apart. It's all very predictable.
However, the acting is what makes this such a great drama. Every character is great and portrayed so well. The casting was perfect in my opinion.

Hm. I had read so many reviews about the plot of this being horrible...but I surprisingly enjoyed it. It was definitely a little all over the place, but at the same time it was quite cliche which made it easy to follow. The plot point of Eun Sang hiding her real economic class was honestly just frustrating because obviously there was going to be a dramatic reveal scene

CHOI YOUNG DO BROKE MY HEART. To be honest, he was a much more interesting character than Kim Tan, and it kills me that he didn't get THE happy ending.

Other two characters that were so good were Chan Yeong and Bo Na, who were one of the cutest, purest, drama-free ships ever. I loved them. And I want Krystal's English "Oh my god" to be my alarm tone. Honestly, her English was perfect, and it was the only one I could bear to listen to. The American actors, especially at the beginning (when the scene was set in LA) were so bad, and every conversation sounded unnatural.

One thing I didn't really like were just that there were SO MANY CHARACTERS. I totally thought Hyo Shin and Kim Won were the same person at the beginning. I didn't care about any of the adult ships at all.

I know a lot of people were annoyed by the OST, but I actually really loved the songs so much that I was down to hear them over and over again.

Oh boy, here we go.  Before even watching this drama the first thing that stands out is the all star line up, it has to be good drama right?
The story line covers every single K-drama trope that exists and brings nothing new to the table. Acting is alright( as you would expect from this cast) however PSH is an absolute vegetable  as K-drama law demands and gets tossed around by the two main male leads. Soundtrack is pretty bad also, whenever an emotional moment is occurring, the soundtrack blasts "Love is the moment" into your ears and kills the entire mood, just a poor choice of song. The beginning of the drama is also pretty cringey, starting the in California(LMH's english is painfully bad and dialogue is awkward).

Overall, i would not recommend.

I love Lee Min-ho(•ө•)♡

I saw this one for Min-ho! ♡ I really like it, Park Shin-hye is very cute and i like the chemistry with her co-star.
It's one of the first k-dramas I watched as a teenager!
I'm definitely going to watch it again at some point and I'll tell my boyfriend to watch it with me.
