Good Doctor (2013)

L O V E was spelled in intangible ways in this drama, mostly by the wise and compassionate hospital’s Director and ever loving hyung. It is seconded by the fellow, chief resident, senior nurse and long time young patient. The story showed the condition of human hearts when it sees a fellow human heart packaged in a different way, whether you are blood related or just another passerby on the street.

I particularly liked how the drama slowly showed Dr. Park Shi On learn the gray areas in life, those that didn’t quite fit in the things he studied or memorized. Initially, he only knew about the good and the bad but he eventually learned about responsibility as well, sometimes in the hardest of ways. Not only did the series showed how his amazing brain figured out solutions to the crises of anatomical structures but it also showed how he threaded through the things of the heart that he could not quite understand. It was very encouraging to see how he didn’t give up, no matter how heart wrenching the situation was. He honestly admitted his fears and is forthright that he is “still different from others”, no pretence that we so often see around us daily, I think a combination of all these made him the loving hero in the eyes of the people around him, those who care to look I should add. In desperate times, the Asst Director’s words resonated with me , “we choose our hope”, in whatever form or shape that may be. For Park Si On, it was hyung and his rabbit.

Needless to say that Joo Won’s acting has made me believe that he was anything but autistic, just beautiful. He most definitely deserved the the award he received for this performance , bravo! His young counterpart was brilliant, I don’t know how this kid can have such a grasp of the character to portray it so flawlessly! I have nothing bad to say about the supporting cast although the FL acting on the first episode was on the overacting side I thought, made me almost drop the show but Joo Won saved it. Love how the chief surgeon portrayed his prickly facade but warm underneath role and Chief Go’s comedic touch hit the mark at the right times,

I did not like the romance part, the timeline (3 months) was too short to have a solid base for the relationship, it made the series unnecessarily longer. I really had to drag myself to watch those episodes, a lot of hits on my forward button. I didn’t really care about the political plot and not much love to the pretty manager character either. Music was so so.

Will I recommend it? Yes, yes, yes!

This was a great performance by joo won. I believed his character and if I dint know him well i would've thought he was autistic. The characters were well played but the focus was more on park shi won. His dad did a great job as a lousy father i hated him, vice president was a chameleon, the fellow doctors were good looking and the kids brought some life and fun to the story. the story also showed how koreans portray and deal with handicap. Its very scary thus lots of suicide. Anyways there wasnt much to the romance scenes. Just glimpses and a kiss. contrary to popular belief i dint cry at all. I felt sad for shi won but i was cheering him on silently. Oppa fighting!!!

It is fully about how disguisting and crual can be (korean?) society. The drama is stuffed to the edges with intrigues, evil-like people, and abusing of kind-hearted people. It's super-hyper exaggeration of unfairness that people can face - absurd and nonesense, not realistic one, and all other synonyms of these terms ;)

I dropped this drama and then only watched some moments from further episodes to see if it by chance gets better. But it was still same.

I like Joo Won the actor for his very simple and yet handsome image, and great acting. But I unfortunately don't like any of his roles. May be he is too unlucky with scriptwriters. His character Park Shi On in Good doctor is unique and somehow interesting, and JW's acting is great though. Unfortunately... I couldn't see anymore how adsurdly others push him to the hell.

Seeing this drama detailes before watching it, I was interested and excited with the plot and the cast. But it was a big disappointwent.

Nice Drama with two major problems

This was a nice drama from Jo won side he did everything he could and his character try his best
two problem two Other two characters

1st Physical assault toward ML was not punished because senior doctor is handsome, In korean Handsome people are give licence to do any crime the like
FL never shoot up against senior for treating ML unfairly because she has crush on him so she allow him to bully her fellow doctor, She did not feel disgusting by senior because he is handsome..

Two faced characterless Female Lead
FL know from start that her senior has a girlfriend but still stick to him as a backup plan for him, she doesn't have any self esteem,
two faced because she think she can accept clothes from her senior when he buys her but ask ML to return a single piece of cloth that his senior female bought him as thanks
i dislike FL character as much as i dislike SML
our SML brokeup with his girlfriend and then uses FL as he please without giving a single thought about her feelings at all
ML liked FL but from FL side i do not feel that she has same feeling for him, it look forced , it was Pity then love...
i think despite his medical condition he deserve a better girl, not a two faced who was trying to steal someone's boyfriend her whole life..

Magnifique drama. J’avais commencé la version américaine avant de regarder le drama coréen. Personnellement, j’ai largement préféré le drama coréen pour plusieurs raisons. Tout d’abord, les acteurs sont magnifiques et Joo Won joue à merveille. L’histoire est originale et pose les questions sur l’acceptation de la différence et du handicap. Le personnage Park Si On introduit avec brillo ces questions et nous amène à poser un regard différent, Si On est semble très enfantin et immature au début, mais peu à peu on découvre toutes les facettes de ce personnage, qui n’est pas si différents des autres… et qui a une grande sensibilité. On voit l’évolution des personnages tout au long du drama avec plaisir. Des larmes, des rires et du suspense, ce drama nous emporte dans les secrets d’un hôpital.
A la fin des 20 épisodes, déçu que le drama s’arrête, j’aurai aimé que l’histoire continu encore…

Eccellente. Una storia che alletta la visione e l'ascolto dalle prime alle ultime battute. Le puntate fluiscono in maniera leggera e accattivante.
Un insieme di tematiche legate al mondo della sanità , della famiglia e dei bambini : la professione della medicina e chirurgia pediatrica, gli affarismi intorno agli ospedali, lo svantaggio psichico e le sue opportunità di recupero positivo, la benevolenza o i maltrattamenti sui bambini con i loro risvolti nella crescita e il riscatto sociale nonostante tutto.
Storie di amori e amicizie, di pregiudizi e condanne a priori; storie di persone integerrime e di corruzioni, tradimenti, ravvedimenti. Trionfa la coscienza per il giuramento di Ippocrate fra successi e fallimenti medici.
Il tutto è accompagnato da colonne sonore vibranti e coinvolgenti a far sottofondo alle scene. Tante volte le immagini raccontano più delle parole. Il ritmo delle sequenze è sempre nel giusto: mai allentato inopinatamente ne precipitoso.
Gli attori sono tutti bravi nell' esaltare il proprio ruolo anche nelle sfumature della mimica e delle posture, nel paralinguistico.
Il protagonista principale è magnifico; parecchio bravo è anche l'interprete del ruolo del primario.
Questa serie offre emozioni intense di tenerezza, di commozione, di indignazione, di comicità, di sospiri di sollievo.
Un dramma fra i più belli che io abbia seguito e forse il più bello fino ad ora.

Dream but do not forget to live.

Dreams do come true for as long as you work hard for it despite of the challenges, situation and imperfections one has. some things will go wrong along the way, but it will all depend on how you pick up yourself and continue the path.

Park Si On will show us how a mentally ill/ autistic man can become a doctor, win the heart of the lady she loves and be accepted by the society. It will give us a glimpse of their world - the hardship, struggles and fears they try to battle with. The life they are trying to live in order to survive.

This series moves me in so many ways. I didn't expect that I will shed tears for this but yes it caught me off guard and I can say it's worth the time and attention. The first two episodes stunned me and made me curious how the story will continue. Maybe Korea's counterpart of House or Grey's Anatomy? nah, I felt that it will serve us a different plate.

Mostly of the episodes were intense and story were well written - the series did not only revolved in surgeries, operations and saving children's life. But it give good stories of the casts. All contributed stories which harmonize this drama. It didn't give me the 'overwhelming' or 'i had enough of his/her character' experience (which I normally feel in most series). It also has good script, really very heartwarming.

Let's also give credit to their acting skills, Joo Sang Wook and Joo Won's performance were exceptional. Their roles got into them and they acted like real doctors. How they throw their lines, perform their surgeries, talk about their cases.. they sounded like genius!

Overall, I recommend this series. It will give us a universal lesson in life that everyone can make a difference. Regardless of our situation in life or medical condition we can lead and be a guide to everyone else. All we have to do is to believe and act.

I think this was a decent hospital show, I just didn't really like the main characters that much. I found the second lead male doctor to be extremely aggressive and therefore, some of his interactions with other characters were infuriating. The main autistic doctor was sometimes really hard to watch in certain situations because many times, he was treated really unfairly due to his autistic label which made me feel sad. That sadness and my desire to advocate for the male MC was my main reason for dropping this drama. Also, having practiced in the medical field, there were some ethical issues that came up while watching that gave me inner turmoil. Trying to decide what's ethically right versus what's morally right can sometimes be a very challenging task.
In regards to the genre of this drama being a medical drama, I wasn't partial to the overall execution of this drama's hospital feel. For me, Good Doctor had a bit too much medical stuff, not enough personal lives interweaved for me to get entirely absorbed into the characters and plot. That's not to say there was anything wrong with this show, I have just preferred other medical K-dramas such as Doctors and Doctor Stranger when compared to this one.
