Great Story, Fine Acting

Step into the enchanting world of "Divine Destiny," a captivating romance between Zhang Yinyin (played by Yang Ying aka Angelababy) and Ji Ruochen (played by Ma Tianyu). Their love knows no bounds as they face incredible challenges, even risking their own lives for each other. Together, they become stronger with their increasing supernatural abilities, fighting for love, for their fellow cultivators, and for the salvation of the three worlds. In the realm of fantasy, the gods are thought to reign supreme with goodness, and the demons and devils wicked and bad. In reality, it's precisely the opposite.

Zhang Yinyin shines as an intelligent, chivalrous, headstrong and spirited character who is adored as the big sister of her sect. She may be authoritative and explosive at times, but that's what makes her so endearing. Yang Ying's acting brings a lovable charm to the fiery Zhang Yinyin, even with a few moments of imperfection. And her stunning transformation into the foxy fox devil - the CGI work is top-notch!

Zhang Yinyin meets and falls in love with Ji Ruochen who has a mysterious background which adds intrigue to the story. From operating a black shop to a mistaken identity, his journey is filled with twists and turns. With a burst of enthusiasm, Zhang Yinyin simply couldn't resist bringing Ji Ruochen home to her sect, and that's where his amazing cultivator journey begins, and the sparks of love start to fly between him and Zhang Yinyin. Ma Tianyu does a commendable job portraying the seemingly clueless and obedient Ji Ruochen, and later, the powerful demon lord.

A compelling story wouldn't be complete without its fair share of antagonists. In this tale, we encounter several outright obnoxious characters and some with shades of gray. Among them, the most vexing is the consort to the crown prince with that distinctive sneer and high-pitched voice. Alongside the cunning prime minister, they plot and scheme to gain control. But their journey takes a twist, leading to a resolution that brings relief.

Among the more complex characters are the disgraced gods, whose actions stem from obsession and vengeance. Thankfully, they eventually come to their senses and reflect on their deeds. It's a journey of redemption for them, adding depth to the story.

My Verdict

While "Divine Destiny" may have some plot holes and logic flaws, it's a delightful drama that keeps the viewers entertained. It's a pleasure to see familiar faces and enjoy the chemistry between the main leads. So if you're looking for some romantic fantasy fun while waiting for new releases, "Divine Destiny" deserves a chance.

One of the best costume dramas in 2023

For me, this is one of the best costume dramas in 2023. Below are my points of view about the drama:

Pros:
* Great acting. Ma Tian Yu, Angelababy and other cast are all good choice for their roles. They portrayed their roles very well. Especially, Ma Tian Yu used to successfully play a similar complex character like Ji Rou Chen so he is perfect in playing his role in this drama.
* Great story, exciting plots, no dragging scenes with unnecessary characters or details.
* Wonderful chemistry between the two main leads, lovely and passionate romantic scenes.

Cons:
* Not a high budget invested drama so the CGI, costumes and cinematography are not as good as high budget dramas.
* The male lead, Ji Rou Chen, is an anti-routine character so the audience can easily misunderstand him as a bad character in the beginning. Patient and non-judgment/bias are needed to watch and enjoy this drama till the end.

The revelation drama of 2023

This for me is the revelation drama of 2023. A compelling story, new because the protagonist is far from the stereotype of the spotless hero who never makes mistakes. He is a hero because to save people and his great love he risks everything by discovering even his uncomfortable truths. It is an original drama because even talking about gods and demons it highlights the most human truth made of light but also of darkness The story is well told and the love story is the one we should all live. An overwhelming, sincere, passionate, moving love. The cast choice is perfect. The two main characters act divinely. Mimicry is perfect, Ma Tian Yu and Angela baby have crazy chemistry, they keep the viewer in suspense, together they are electricity, everyone realises it. The outfits are also beautiful (Ma Tian Yu's ones one more beautiful than the other). And finally the soundtrack is beautiful, romantic and catchy. Absolutely recommended, this drama is a jewel.great work! For me 10!

This is one of best costume cdrama this 2023.

To those who's hesitating to watch this drama because of those lunatics commentetors and reviewers don't mind just watch it already jugde it on your own because we all have different taste in dramas,

but all i can say to you is that this drama is a good watch for me.

if your worried about the Mains(ML/FL) relationship there's no need to worry they're relationship is healthy and they have plenty of romantic scenes together, and about ending its a happy ending and a good one.

Um dos meus favoritos c-drama do género

Além de Till The end of the Moon e Back From the Brink, sem dúvida que Divine Destiny é dos melhores dramas chineses do género. Tem de tudo que um drama deve ter! Mas muito em especial tem actores fantásticos! Angelababy é uma excelente actriz, aqui desempenha o papel de uma Mulher que sabe o que quer e nada a detém para o obter, assim Yinyin é uma personagem diferente da maioria que pulula por estes dramas chineses, nos quais as mulheres desempenham papéis de crianças chatas, sempre com birras idiotas como se tivessem 4 anos (The Longest Promise é um exemplo em que a actriz principal faz o papel de uma teenager idiota e completamente irresponsável).

O nosso actor principal Rai Ma desempenha excelentemente o seu carácter, primeiro de um miúdo que aparentemente não tem escrúpulos para um Homem responsável por salvar o Mundo e a sua amada.

Também os actores secundários são excelentes e complementam lindamente todo o desenrolar da história.

Quanto ao guião e história contada está bem escrita (o que diga-se é raro nestes dramas chineses), sem desnecessários mal-entendidos e se os há logo resolvem.

Adorei cada episódio, do princípio ao fim! E, para variar, temos um final feliz!

Great Story, Decent acting and well thought ending.

If you can ignore the "angelbaby" related hated are not looking for tremendous actors than this is the show to watch this year.

Definitely a low budget drama , with way way better story than most S+ rated drama. The best part of this one was every part seemed balanced out , it nvr got too boring and had one of the most satisfying and well thought of ending which made some logical sense. Yes , it has loopholes (like FMC character not being consistent for a couple of episodes around 32/34) but which Cdrama doesnt. And if you start to hate a show after watching 4-5 intial episodes and didnt like main character please dont rate it , because thats the only reason this show which deserves around 8.3-8,4 is now rated 7.6.

Magnetic connection and Stellar Performances!

The story, characters, and cinematography truly captivated me from beginning to end. I was drawn in by the twists and turns of the plot and the emotional depth of the characters.

The exceptional acting and compelling dialogue made every scene a pleasure to watch. The chemistry between the leads was magnificent and added an extra layer of authenticity to the story.

As someone who is passionate about this drama, I thought for a while about writing my own review to add to the discussion and share my thoughts with other viewers. I believe that the more people talk about this drama, the more others will be drawn to watch it.

Too much repetition

On one hand, it feels like a lot of the story was skipped. The drama didn't show the process of the female lead falling for the male lead. One second she dislikes him or he's just a junior to her and next scene she's in love with him. Same with Gu Qing, the second female lead. I didn't really understand when/how she fell for him. It seems like she loved him immediately after finding out he has the bluestone. But then when she finds out it wasn't his and he wasn't the one she was looking for, she still loves only him.

On the other hand, I wish some repeated scenes would have been skipped.
Every episode something would separate the FL and ML, then they get together again, Gu Qing keeps begging ML for his love, he keeps rejecting her, Yin Feng keeps trying to kill ML, Gu Qing keeps sacrificing herself for ML, Yin Feng keeps sacrificing himself for Gu Qing, and then when the amnesia kicks in for FL, she keeps forgetting ML, falling in love with him and then forgetting him again.
It's ok if you repeat a story plot once or twice at most, but each of these mentioned happened between five and a dozen times to the point that it's ridiculous. Feels like the whole drama is just a repeat of the same scenes over and over. The whole 36 episodes could have been cut to just 12 if we remove the copy paste scenes, which become jarring and tiring.

I did like the main characters' resolves and their values and that's the only reason I'm rating this drama so high.

I didn't like some things regarding the ending.
For example the fact that ML did kill Ling and the Endless Sea Guards. Even if all the rest could be explained, this is not a forgivable act, but they seem to have forgot this as it couldn't explain his behaviour.
Also, I don't like how Xuan Zhen has to live in the shadows and protect Xi Xuan Sect from the dark side of the mountains for no reason. Not sure why he can't still meet his friends and have fun with them. It all makes no sense and it's plain stupid.

Một câu chuyện tình yêu của nam chính và nữ chính đẹp, nhưng nó được trình diễn quá mức.
Nguyên nhân dẫn đến tình yêu của nam chính và nữ chính bình thường như mọi bộ phim khác, thậm chí tệ hơn.
Tôi không thích tính cách nhân vật nam chính Ruo Chen.
Anh ta xem trọng tình yêu đến mức xem những người khác như rác vậy.
Hành động chia tay cô dâu ngay trong lễ cưới là không thể chấp nhận được. Tôi không thể hiểu nổi bằng cách nào một con người có thể thực hiện điều này ?

EXCELLENT Xianxia with Angelababy & Ma Tian Yu ☆✲ﾟ｡(((´♡‿♡`+)))｡ﾟ✲☆

PLOT: the FL, member of the most powerful sect, takes in the ML, son of innkeeper-bandits. She will tutor him in the sect, they will fall in love and face multiple villains to save the world.

PROS:
+ a great duo of actors, magical on screen.
+ the storyline is solid, credible, and the production is effective: we don't get bored for a second.
+ The supporting actors are talented. Depending on the case, they move us or annoy us, but bring their characters to life with talent and sensitivity.
+ Very suitable OSTs
+ The CGIs are of good quality and the settings are beautiful.

CONS:
- a few twists are expected, but the clichés (there are always some :) are exploited in an intelligent and relatively subtle way.

=> In my TOP 10 of Xianxia, ​​and I would love to see this duo (Angelababy & Ma Tian Yu) together on screen again.

PLOT: la FL, membre de la secte la plus puissante, recueille le ML, fils d'aubergistes-bandits. Elle va le tutorer dans la secte, ils vont tomber amoureux et affronter de multiples méchants pour sauver le monde.
PROS:
+ un super duo d'acteurs, magique à l'écran.
+ la storyline est solide, crédible, et la réalisation efficace : on ne s'ennuie pas une seconde.
+ Les acteurs support sont talentueux. Suivant les cas, ils nous émeuvent ou nous énervent, mais donnent vie à leur personnage avec talent et sensibilité.
+ Des OST très adaptés
+ Les CGI sont de bonne qualité et les décors sont beaux.

CONS:
- quelques twists sont attendus, mais les clichés (il y en a toujours) sont exploités de manière intelligente et relativement subtile.

=> Dans mon TOP 10 des Xianxia, et j'adorerai revoir ce duo (Angelababy & Ma Tian Yu) ensemble à l'écran.
