The upcoming tvN K-drama Resident Playbook will possibly not air this year.

On May 16, media outlet SPOTV News revealed that the upcoming spin-off of Hospital Playlist, Resident Playbook, will not air in 2024. The series will be postponed to premiere until next year.

According to reports, the upcoming K-drama will not air this year because tvN's broadcast schedule for the whole year is already finalized. After The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, concludes, The Auditors will be the follow-up K-drama. Afterwards, Jung Hae In and Jung So Min's K-drama Love Next Door will premiere. In the last week of August, the women-centered K-drama Jeong Nyeon will air next. Lastly, before the year ends, the upcoming K-drama Love on a Single Log Bridge will air on tvN's weekend timeslot.

A representative from tvN then shared a brief statement regarding the postponement. According to them, "The broadcast schedule for Resident Playbook is still undecided. The Midnight Romance in Hagwon is currently airing on our weekend timeslot and The Auditors will be its follow-up."

Resident Playbook was originally planned to premiere in the first half of 2024. However, due to the issue in the medical industry in South Korea, the K-drama's broadcast was postponed. tvN revealed back in March that the series will be postponed within the year but it seems like it will be further postponed until next year.

Resident Playbook will showcase the real-life stories, friendships, and struggles of professors and residents at a university hospital. The K-drama will focus on the obstetricians and gynecologists at the Jongno Yulje Hospital.

The upcoming K-drama will be led by Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Kang Yoo Seok, Jung Joon Won, Han Ye Ji, and Lee Bong Ryun

The spin-off will be the next work of director Lee Min Soo (The Secret House and Good For You) and writer Kim Song Hee. The original team of Hospital Playlist director Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo Jung will join the production of the K-drama as creators.

Resident Playbook will be part of tvN's weekend K-drama timeslot.
