What a Pleasant Surprise

I thought I was ready.I was NOT.I have heard about this show for so long and I've been wanting to check it out purely to see what's all the fuss is all about. I did not expect the first episode alone to have this strong pf a hook. I'm hooked.

Confrontation

So glad to have Eun Geyol back, and even more happy about how while he was absent from the main plot line, he was already deeply invested in another plotline which eventually diverged by the end of the episode and merged together with the main plotline. I'm happy that he finally stood up for his mom, it felt so satisfying to see her slowly coming out from her only bubble. However, I wish he didn't give Choi Se the privilege of his confession. I don't like the bugger.

A Compromise

You know a show is special when the supposed "main" character can be put to the side without the whole show losing its identity, because this is a cast with real individualism and parallel stories, and that's very rare to come by.The girl impersonating her mother caught me off guard, I wonder how they are gonna play these multiple time-traveling points, as how I see it, if either one of them gets what they want, the other will come off as defeated as their goals directly oppose each other's.

The Pieces Are Aligning

Midway through the show, it already shows what I presume is the main conflict in the story. It seems like, just when Eun Geyol stopped trying, his dad and mom made contact, it's like it was always meant to be. But then again, the Viva La Vida man said that the future has already started to change, whether he's bluffing or not remains to be seen. The scene at the end with Eun Geyol unconscious, being transported to the operation room as he faintly calls his parents, and them being present there was just so poetic.

Branch Out

Ever since the start of the show, Eun Geyol has had some of a grasp of the next events, so he has been navigating somewhat well in between them, placing himself carefully where he thinks it's best for the moment. However, it seems the past is either changing, this affecting the future, or some secret events that everyone chose to forget about is starting to unfold. This might have been the start to whatever shook the youth of the trio, something so sever, that their future selves always dodged reminiscing about or even answering when queried.I really love the bromance Eun Gyol has formed with his father so far, they look like a better sibling duo than him and his real brother.

Forming The Bond

Very wholesome episode, something about seeing his Dad in the past being all carefree and happy, living the moment to its fullest is very bittersweet, knowing what he goes through afterward.I really want him to meet with his mom and surprise er by using sign language for some reason. Also, I wonder if this show is really gonna go "the changing the future from the past" route or if it's just gonna be about him learning to cope with his reality after having taken a fresh look from the perspective of his parents.

Fight Back

The run around was so frustrating, for the right reasons. It seems that this coming-of-age story is about to take a much harsher turn. I don't know what about the whole thing of him being stuck on the past, interacting with people he met on his original timeline has me wanting him to hold back on doing anything crazy, well, aside from the fact that it's weird knowing where he came from but also, because I don't know how deep this show will go with thee whole time-shifting aspect of the narrative, I'm just here on the edge of my seat trying to count the number of times this hot-headed teenager was almost forcing the past to branch off its course.

Breakdown And Resonance

Sigh.Sometimes, I like to imagine myself as a snobby, world-renowned appraiser who would look down on every other acclaimed "masterpiece" in such an immense lack of interest, trying to show off how high my standards are and how hard it is to even come close to meeting them, yes, I have a wild imagination that runs me down sometimes, but that depiction is far, far away from my real self. But if it were true, this episode would have been the one gem to shatter my expressionless snarl and send me into an exclamation spree.I might just retire. Now, the above may not have made any kind of sense, but that just shows how speechless I was left at the start, during, and at the end of this episode. As if the pilot was not evident enough, this was the golden trophy in bright daylight.I think this might be the best K-drama, or even Asian drama when it comes to "acting", and I mean it in the literal meaning when I say that. The expression, the animated faces, shaky movements, the voice cracks, everything is just spectacular. This is a new high for the medium to me.Now, I have started to put up a few plot threads together during the last episode, and it became even clearer as this one continued, so I kind of saw the plot twist coming, and I wish I hadn't because the delivery would have been even more mind-blowing for me, however, the acting has taken me aback. And this might end up being my favorite show ever.

Way To Create A Hook!

I went in completely blind on this one, with no synopsis read, no tags checked, and only off of a strong recommendation by my sister. Verdict? I'm hooked. The story telling, at least so far, and unlike many other K-dramas I've seen is more grounded in reality. No exaggerated reactions, totally believable dialog, and a bittersweet showing of life as we know it. I love the characters already, and being able to get attached to them straight out of episode one is honestly such an accomplishment.

More Radio

Going off of the previous episode. This was just more of it.It was hilarious seeing Gong Yoo complain about mild pain when he was enacting the battle scenes. Also, Woo-bin fake kicking Sunny when she tripped back lmao.I really liked the deep down on the custom designs for the evil advisor, I wish they could have shown the same for the lady in red.

Radio Stars

This was not what I expected, but it was definitely a surprise.Basically, a radio show with Sunny and Woo-bin, going over some of the moments from the show and commentating over bloopers. I loved the bromance highlight.

Recap!

I'm not a big fan of recaps, and I can't imagine many people are, although, this one had a spin. It's narrated by our own, secretary Kim! Hoooray.

THE END!

I can't believe we're here, and what a journey it has been.Yes, the last episode felt like a final episode, but this one really explains why it wasn't as such. So much conclusion was made, and so much opportunity for a new story to start was laid down too. I loved how it all ended. Cheesy as it may have been, from tragedy to a bittersweet resolution. This was a very emotional episode that shows why this series is regarded as an absolute classic.

At Peace At Last!

9 Years Later?!

They did NOT just skip so far away, it basically feels like a whole other plotline setup.I'm not quite fond with the stereotypical use of amnesia in story telling, I'll let this one sit for one more episode and see how it cooks up.I really love Eun Tak's adult hairstyle here.
