I'm still crying as I watch the credits that show a blend of stills from the movies as well as actual pictures from the event itself. This movie definitely is not for everyone because it is depicting, to me, one of South Korea's dark moments. As I watched this, I felt the emotions that I felt seeing clips and reading articles about the Civil Rights movement in the USA. The depiction of dogs and tear gas was one thing; but for innocent, unarmed people to be literally mowed down with machine guns, it is unheard of! As you can see, this is a movie about the Gwangju massacre that took place between May 15-27, 1980. The reason behind the killings is senseless to me! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that someone in the military gave the order and I hope they enjoy their stay in HELL!!! Excellent movie for those interested in historical events! Not for kids! And I don't think you will want to see this again.
