Somewhere over the rainbow.

Well im not sure what I should write here so im just going to blab on about how I started watching Kdramas and well anything Asian related :P

A long long time ago I saw a bunch of Jackie chan movies with my dad. It was always Jackie chan movies or jet li movies since rush hour was freaking hilarious. Throughout most of my childhood I was in hospitals so I took a keen interest in history around the world and that led to me falling in love with the three kingdom era(The dynasty warrior games helped with that :P.) For the next few years I would watch old jet li and Jackie chan movies that were based in the past(Fearless, once apon a time in china 1,2 and 3 and drunken master. I think drunken master was based in the past :P its been years since I last saw it). I first started watching Korean movies before I even knew they were Korean. I remember watching Mooyeonggeom or Shadowless word and not knowing what country it as from(I was ignorant and couldn't tell the difference in the language). After watching a few movies with Donnie yen in I started to see which movies originated from different country's. I remember watching on youtube jet li's Kung fu cult master(now that I see, the movie is horrible xD) and a link from that was to a movie called a frozen flower. A frozen flower was the first movie I knew was Korean when I watched it. Its not particularly a movie a 13year old should watch(I thought it had more martial arts than anything else :P) but it was a good movie and I would watch it again if I became interested in it again. From  A Frozen Flower I went onto watching A millionaires first love and My mighty princess. Only after I saw a few movies did I go onto dramas.

When I first decided to watch dramas I thought that movies ended too fast and dramas are just basically a 15hr long movie. well my first drama turned out to be 56hours long and is still my favourite drama. That drama is East of Eden and is amazing.

From there i went on to watch any drama that had any of the actors that I knew(mostly Song Seung-Heon, so I went onto watching autumn in my heart and summer scent. I decided to look up hyun bin, Rain/Bi(I saw Ninja assassin an decided he was a boss) and a few other actors since I knew I could trust their acting.

Since then I have seen hundreds of movies and dramas dating back to the 70s. I still remember watching enter the dragon as a kid and thinking the ending was too simple but now when I watch it I think the ending is sinple but realistic and fits the movies. This lets me know that I have progressed in how I judge a movie and how I view it.

I apoligize for my horrible grammar. I'm bad at English which is ironic since I grew up in the country that invented it xD
