wasted potential

This has so so soo much potential! but they completely wasted it. The revenges felt lacklustre. The protagonist has one expression throughout the episodes. The only saving grace of this show were the villains, the male lead, and... really nothing else. definitely does not deserve the hype it got.
it started off great. The entire set-up, the hype, the suspense, the pain - all wonderful. The child actors were simply outstanding. However, then the writers just sort of... gave up? that's the most decent way I can put it. Not an ounce of creativity went into designing what the plot would actually look like post the flashbacks. And just like the makers, I've lost interest in writing this review. Save your time and watch Mouse, Defendant, The Devil Judge, The Penthouse, Beyond Evil instead. Seriously, go watch literally other than this overhyped mess.

Watch out for this new BL sensation. Featuring:
- Two softest, cutest, nicest leads
- The first male lead is shy but sweet and true to his feelings, yet will give you whiplash and nostalgia regarding every crush
you've ever had in the past
- The second male lead is surprisingly more aware of his surroundings than all drama leads put together. There is
obliviousness but the sheer fact that it is much less than usual is so refreshing, it'll have you cheering on the scared, funny idiot
- A highschooler wise beyond his and his friends' ages combined, who is a well-meaning bestie we all deserve
- Another high school bestie who unintentionally tries to ruin every possible thing
- An emo sweet sister
- Additional side characters who are, thankfully, not horrible people

A sloooooow highschool friends-to-lovers story that burns oh so good. Take me back to the good old days for Yamato and Kakeru have all my heart and memories and I wish them nothing but the best. They healed the memories of my unrequited crush. I just want to wrap these two in a bubblewrap and protect them from all possible harm. My cutie pookies <3

I'm hungover

Every time I finish watching Gene-Nubsib, I feel a deep sense of loss and stare at my computer blankly. I don't know what to watch after this that will make me feel as warm and content as this show. Their relationship is synonymous with comfort. The older I become, the more I crave for that calm redundant established relationship - both in the fictional world and my own life.
This was a special episode. I have no clue why people are mad at it. Not a single special episode released for any other series has a major life defining plot. Not even a certain how that for some reason everyone is raving about. So... I don't really get what the fuss is all about. A non problematic feel good show comes along and suddenly everyone's an art critic. Give me 4 seasons of Sib and Gene being all cute, dorky, soft, and bickering and I'll gladly watch it. Anyway, take it for what it aimed to be. A glimpse into the future of Gene-Sib. For all those who felt happy just by seeing them smile at each other at any point, it's for you. It's cute, soft, crazy and a callback to the amazing show.

The Untamed is a drama that's going to ruin all other shows for you forever. Sheer brilliance at every step. The acting is exceptional. The storyline, plot twists, complexity of even the most innocuous characters blew my mind. The scenery and the set designs are a visual treat. The music will give you goosebumps. This is a show that will stay with me for as long as I live. A huge thank you to the author and the entire cast and crew for making this show. Wei Wuxian is going to be my spirit animal - making me smile and giving me confidence whenever I feel down. Also, if you don't have a love that's this strong in your life- a love that doesn't need a kissing scene to be felt, a love that transcends hardships and decades of separation, then is it at all worth having it? Lol it's ruined real life love for me.
I highly recommend this show to everyone. Please, please watch it and do not expect to understand what's going on in the first episodes. That'd be preposterous. Just give it a shot. It's a masterpiece. I sincerely do not understand why some mediocre shows have extremely high viewership and this show does not. It deserves all the love and recognition in the world.?❤?
