A Must Watch Drama...!!

One of the best drama of the year. I wonder how this particular Channel makes some dramas that feel so real. Hats off to jtbc once again for bringing an excellent drama. The plot wise its similar to an English movie names 17 again but i haven't watched that yet so i don't know the comparison level but all i can say that this drama has so many slice of life situations which was something really unique.

From the first episode to the end this drama gives you a realistic life journey through some relatable characters with a beautiful narration. If life gives you a another opportunity the things regretted to you and you want to correct your mistakes that made you regret this drama is all about that. The whole story point out only one thing at the end of everything that "no matter how hard your life goes, never forget that made you smile"

Performance of all the actors was outstanding. Especially Lee Do hyun who done the younger version character of hong dae young. Also a factor that i found particularly interesting was the way they manged all the Episodes ending with an amazing epilogue which gives you a certain clarity of that family or those characters, all those references were outstanding. Overall this drama has so many things to say till the end, if you are a fan of healing or realistic dramas just give it a try.

If you like soapy dramas with every cliche imaginable...and I mean every cliche (cancer, a marriage contact, comas [yes more than one], memory loss, hypnotism, falsifying medical records, a fake death, kidnapping, a secret brother, pregnancy etc) then this show will be right up your alley. And it isn't that I didn't like it. I actually could't stop watching it and stayed up til 2am one night trying to end on a good note, but this drama would not. I wanted to like the characters, but it was so hard liking the mains.

Xia Lin is an aspiring 21 year old actress that finds out that she has leukemia after not landing a role as the spokesperson for a company. In order to receive bone marrow transplant sooner and to continue her career as an actress, Xia Lin enters into a secret marriage with Ling Yi Zhou, the CEO of a company.

That's the foundation of the drama and I thought this was going to be a cute story about two people who are using one another (Xia Lin needing a transplant to live and Ling Yi Zhou wanting a marriage to make his grandmother happy before passing) but end up falling in love. Instead we got this insane drama with everything imaginable. Which is why it was hard to like the main characters. I feel like Xia Lin's character wasn't consistent and I am 100% with Chu Yan in the beginning; why the hell does everyone like her and keep falling for her...even though he eventually fell in love with her too. Then we have Ling Yi Zhou. I wanted to like him so bad and wanted to blame his upbringing, but homeboy was a very aggressive person who will not take no for an answer. I am happy that Xia Lin called him out on it and left him until he changed. But it wasn't like he was doing it on purpose, he just didn't know that his obsessive possessive actions towards her was bad because he was never told otherwise. I honestly loved him in the beginning of the drama when they are starting off their marriage and Ling Yi Zhou was treating her like they were already in love and that they've been together for years. My favorite scene was definitely when they went out to celebrate both their birthdays. But then it started to go downhill for me liking him. Secrets come out about all the stuff he has done and it made me think that I was watching one of those "I love you, but if you don't love me, I will lock you away until you do," dramas. He redeemed himself because he wanted to be better for her, but it wasn't perfect.

One of the only characters I enjoyed in this drama was Chu Yan. I loved how this drama started off as Xia Lin and her roommate thinking that there was this love triangle between Ling Yi Zhou, his assistant Wen Li, and Chu Yan. I honestly thought that Chu Yan was a tad in love with Ling Yi Zhou, but then we find out that, that isn't the case whatsoever. The 3 of them are actually just not good with women and chose to do their own thing. I loved Chu Yan because he almost became an enemy of Xia Lin and would mess with her a little, but also protected her because she was Ling Yi Zhou's wife. The two had a rocky start, but then after seeing Xia Lin's affection towards everyone and everything including his rude ass, he fell in love with her. And at that moment, I was like...shit...poor guy. They would have made a really cute couple too because their friendship was honestly goals. They had such intimate friend scenes that I don't blame him for falling in love with her. He was her rock whenever Ling Yi Zhou did something incredibly stupid which was most of the time and every time she was in trouble, he would always be the first one to the scene, but always called Ling Yi Zhou because bros before hoes. Double plus, I loved the brotherly love Chu Yan and Ling Yi Zhou had for one another that even though Ling Yi Zhou knew that Chu Yan was in love with his wife, he never held it against him and didn't shun him. He just told him that they were brothers and regardless of what happens, they would remain close. Chu Yan went through so much character development and he honestly deserved way better. I'm writing that in my list. Yes, he found someone at the end, but it was honestly so random and happened in the last few episodes of the drama like the writers expected me to care about his new girl. Like even she knew that he was still in love with Xia Lin and then you expect me to ship them after a time jump? His character makes me want to give this drama a higher rating...and dammit...fine...I will...but only a fraction higher. I can't give it a full 4/5...but it deserves more than a 3.5. Even just writing this review, even though it wasn't the best drama I have every watched, I kind of want to watch it again because 2 times is definitely not enough.

Simple Sweet Story

- Genre –
Contract Relationship/Romance/TV Star/BL

- Brief Synopsis –
Protagonist A is a failed mangaka and B is a meteorologist. A and B have a contract where B gives A food and shelter for free and A has to do everything B tells him to do, even if it involves sex. At the beginning, A is visibly uncomfortable with the sex because he doesn’t feel anything for B, but slowly changes as he spends more time with B and starts falling in love. While the summary might initially suggest a potentially abusive relationship between the two, it is not like that as B is in love with A before A falls for him so he treats A pretty well. The only angst in this story comes from miscommunication or lack of communication as neither A or B likes to tell the other what they are really thinking. This however improves with time and the story ends with them finally begining to embrace the nuances of being true, loving partners.

- Plot and Storyline –
This plot does not contain any plot twists that would make the story memorable in any way. The core of the story revolves around the characters grappling with their emotions and navigating the process of learning how to becomes lovers. While formal confessions might not have taken place, the sweetness of their interactions, tinged with both affection and sensuality, serves as a compelling testament to the depth of their evolving connection.

- Character Development –
A learns with time to open his heart to B and both learns how to communicate.

- Acting -
The two actors delivered commendable performances, effectively conveying the nuanced emotions between the two characters. Their acting prowess was compelling enough to authentically capture the tension between the characters and convincingly depict the evolution of their emotional states throughout the narrative.

- Production Quality -
Decent production quality with somewhat realistic sets and props.

- Writing and Dialogue -
Writing is okay.

- Pacing -
Pacing is good.

- Themes and Message –
The biggest theme is miscommunication. For a healthy relationship, you need to communicate with your partner and not assume you know everything.

- Audience Appeal -
N/A

- Standout Moments -
N/A

- Criticisms -
N/A

- Conclusion -
While the story may not be particularly memorable, lacking the emotional impact of some other shows, it still manages to offer a sweet and succinct tale. Despite not leaving a lasting impression, the narrative holds its own charm, providing a brief and enjoyable viewing experience.

Heads down to the most amazing drama

I don't have words to describe this series..My emotions are still raw after watching it for 3rd time on repeat.
This is the best and way underrated series of Mainland China.
Story is nothing spectacular when you watch this drama..it is just related to an esport where a guy's journey is shown from a scratch after achieving the most glorious title of the game. Due to his old friend he has to start from zero again but what a spectacular journey it was.
It is not only a journey for him but all those newbies who chose him to be their leader.
This story is all about compassion, team leadership, empathy, strong mindset, respect towards each other, trust and choices.
Everybody made their choices and they worked hard to achieve the goal for the choice they made.
Not only story tells us about team building, but also it teaches us to respect each and every opponent and instead of using mockery when other looses the game, just make a way so that party who lost the game continue to soar their spirits and become better in next challenge.
This story is all about healthy competition and the challenges we have to face in every corner.

OST was the best. Each and every character whether virtual or real was justified and did a perfect job.

Overall I can rewatch this again and again and I will bever get tired of it. Applauses to all the actors, storywriter, director and other staff who managed to produce such an amazing series.

This must be the worst KDrama I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. I've seen some terrible story writing from KDrama, but this is by far the worst I've ever seen.

The characters were written to take the most idiotic actions that could possibly be taken. The story makes no sense and only works because of plot armor.

The acting is just terrible. Characters either acted over the top and unnatural, or like they didn't even want to be there.

The music was pretty annoying. Whoever made the score didn't deserve to be paid for that.

Wouldn't watch again.

the story itself has potential but this is the first KBL that I watched

I just came across a Tiktok video about Semantic Error and it caught my attention instantly because the acting is good.

Although you can say that the story itself is 'generic' or 'predictable', you can't deny that this is just a good drama. It's not perfect but it's good.

The pacing of the story kinda threw me off at some parts maybe because they crammed the story to fit 8 episodes. Some scenes doesn't really need to be repeated in the next ep considering that the runtime of each ep ranges from 15-30 mins.

Tbh I just finished all 3 seasons of Penthouse and this is a good drama to calm myself down.

Wow, so toothless!

It appears the director Kim Joo Hwan has a thing for animals. "Koala", "Lion", "Hunting Dogs", now this. A surprisingly toothless movie about a big load of abandoned puppies.

🔸️It would seem impossible to film a wholesome fluffy Golden Retriever in a neutral manner and make it appear soulless, although they managed to achieve it here. I'm so sick of long rambling descriptions of the characters unhappy lives, I couldn't care less. There soon will be more dogs than kids in Korea, so they thought the movie would sell well. It didn't. It lost a bunch of money in box office. As for me, I'd rather watch some lunatic shit and enjoy it than the blandest tear-jerker marketed for the broadest audience.

And no, I'm not a heartless monster. I had a red cat that I loved the most, then he died, and the story was over. Yes, I miss him sometimes.

Waiting for ep was the actual horror part

Covid has eventually hit the entertainment scene and this is a fresh and original take on the aftermath and how us humans deal with global crisis. Have to say my biggest comment is that I wish I could've binged this. This show was made for watching all 12 episodes in one sitting and waiting every week was what actually tortured me.

Story and characters were truly original. I was hesitant when they started addressing the pandemic because its still a sensitive topic for me and many people and dramas are usually my escape. However as the show progressed it became clear that this is a real take on the political and humanity side of the pandemic. I didn't realize SK also had their problems with fanatics and crazies who deny the virus even when it's right in front of them (call me an ignorant American but yeah).
Acting was top notch for every single character. I was frustrated and seething with these people's greed and choices. The resort to murder stealing and insanity in it was extremely terrifying and had me terrified of these people. I was so pissed at MANY of the character choices even the main characters and I was this close to dropping because of the stupidity. However I persevered and really enjoyed the end result. This is an 8.5 because of the actual frustration I had with these people and some logical plot holes/gray unexplained areas.

My ending complaint is that I wish we got more story for the end and how the other characters ended up, it was very open and almost rushed but I'm satisfied. If I could erase my memory and binge this show all at once I definitely would have given it a better rating.

This is not so much a review of Colour Rush so much as a repository for me to put my confused meandering thoughts about it somewhere. Hopefully it'll then the basis for a more coherent blog post.

This has to be the most unusual BL I've seen. If you told me it was Japanese I'd have believed you and yet its sensibility is completely Korean.

Set in an alt-Korea where there is widespread prevalence of a neurological form of Monochromacy (the eye functions perfectly but the brain cannot process colour), 'monos' cannot see colour unless they find their 'probe'. How and why looking at the face of your 'probe' enables your brain to process colour temporarily is not explained, nor is it the point really. Monos dwell in a grey and shapeless world until their Probe brings it to life for them. It's questionable science but the metaphor is pretty obvious.

Yeon Woo (Yoo Jun) is a 'Mono' who never wants to find his 'Probe'. The television news is filled with scary reports of Monos going crazy and kidnapping or murdering their Probes due to their intense desire to possess them. Yeon Woo has no interest in becoming that kind of crazy. He's happy to dwell in darkness if seeing the light makes him a statistic. But when Yeon Woo meets his probe, Yoo Han (Heo Hyun Jun), he finds himself unable to stop himself from craving what Yoo Han is selling. And 'selling' is the closest word I can find to what Yoo Han seems to be doing for the first few episodes. He comes across almost as a drug dealer, giving Yeon Woo a taste of his product to get him hooked and then manipulating him into a more intimate relationship.

It's admittedly sensual and intense - or at least as sensual and intense as two moderately-uncomfortable teens can be in a narrative tradition known for its stylistic and often antiseptic portrayals of romance. And it's a pretty good metaphor for the confused and intense emergence of adolescent sexuality. But that doesn't meant that Yoo Han doesn't come across as a pusher who is slowly and deliberately building up to asking for sexual favours in exchange for a hit. It's a little uncomfortable. Before Yeon Woo knows it, and despite his best intentions, he's completely hooked on Yoo Han, although how Yoo Han feels and why he's so aggressive about being Yeon Woo's Probe is not immediately clear. And yes, that feeling of being out of control and completely at the mercy of another person is possibly also a great metaphor for first love. Yeon Woo is as unsure of Yoo Han's motives as we are but also keenly aware of just how destructive his own obsession can be.

Either way, Korea has produced a pretty deft portrayal of a first love so intense that it feels almost illicit. The two boys creep around as though they're doing something wrong, a sense not helped by Yeon Woo's Aunt who's scared of losing her nephew like she did her sister. Yeon Woo's mother - also a Mono - disappeared four years ago. His Aunt is trying to find her and keeps Yeon Woo on the move so he doesn't risk the emotional attachment that might lead him to do something crazy. In a way, though, his Aunt's determination to keep him safe and at home with her is the reason that Yeon Woo is so scared of his own emotions and his relationship with his probe. It's a fear that eventually leads him to do something drastic.

I honestly can't say how I feel about Colour Rush overall. The camera work and direction feels surreal and disjointed, lingering almost fetishistically on the faces of our two boys. The soundtrack is minimalist in a way that works perfectly but doesn't mean the soundtrack stands out. Unfortunately Yoo Han's idol actor, Heo Hyun Jun (while admittedly playing an idol) is not just wooden but hindered by his no-doubt contractual obligation to be perceived as homoerotic rather than gay. Idols barely kiss each other in mainstream Korean dramas, there's no way their management is going to let him be perceived as happy and comfortable in a gay role. Yet that's no doubt only part of the reason he's so flat.

And yet the show creates the perfect sense of a bubble world created by two people whose feelings for each other are bordering on obsession, an addiction even. In that respect, it's the sexless and more intelligent version of Addicted/Heroin and one that shows that these feelings don't have to be a destructive force. The bubble the two boys live in comes more from implicit bias in how Monos and Probes are portrayed in society and from the way in which their families treat them than from the reality of their relationship. And there's no greater metaphor than that for being gay in a world that wants to paint you as unstable and in need of psychiatric help because of it.

So I guess in the end I have to conclude that I kind of love this. Aside from constructing a perfect and fascinating metaphor both for homosexuality and for first love, some of the dialogue is particularly beautiful. It shows once again that Korean writers treat BL far more seriously than either Thailand or Taiwan and if they keep at it they'll rival even the Phillipines.

It would have been nice for the mother mystery to go somewhere, especially since the show hints that more Monos than her have disappeared. It's a mystery component that's raised and then mostly ignored except as an impetus to his Aunt's fears about him being "just like his mother". It's possible the show is angling for a season 2 and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Best Korean BL

Okay I am no reviewer but I do want to give my opinion about this BL. I think it's safe to say that in my opinion this was the best Korean BL I have seen. I loved everything about it. I loved the pace of this drama a lot, it wasn't rushed, which I loved. The storyline was good and it even showed how Sang Woo slowly changed and the patience of Jae young was also brilliant. The chemistry was amazing between the two actors and the way they just gave their everything, I loved it so much.

Also can I say that there were a lot of kisses in this drama which I wasn't used to especially for a Korean BL and the kisses were really good, especially that one. I was holding my breath the entire time, the built up tension and the chemistry were seriously on point. This BL is definitely in my top 3 best BL's so far.

Thank you to Seo Ham & Jae chan for giving this BL their all and for being so amazing. Seo Ham, I wish you luck with your enlistment, I a definitely looking forward to your future projects and Jae Chan good luck in your lovely career of course!!

First of all, the movie itself is phemominal. I watched it before being nominated in the Ocars. Aside Park Seo Joon guests in the movie, if you didn't noticed him. I knowed some of the cast already. The father in the ricb family was with IU called My Mister. Watch it!! The sister in Wooshik's character's family was in a drama called Cinderella and the Four Knights. I didn't recognized her because of her long hair. Hahahah, also watch that too.

Second, I love the suspended of the movie. Didn't expected the ending before. Hahahah, I was shocked the first time seeing it. It deserved the nomination and the Best Picture in the Ocars. I hope this is the start of where Asians can be nominated in a American Awards and see that Asians are also good at story-telling.

P.S. I don't understand why the Westerns don't like reading subtitles. Theh won't hurt you but they are a great help in the society.

WATCH ROY RAK! IT'S A GREAT DRAMA.

STORY - I think the story line is so good. It's definitely better than Roy Fun Tawan Duerd. I love Mario and Taew's cuteness! They are a calm couple. They don't bicker at each other, they don't fight because they love and TRUST each other. The only problems are what is happening around them. Such as family issues and Aiko. They are such a cute and calm couple. A little romantic too! I enjoyed the story a lot.

ACTING - Mario, Taew, and the other actors did a great job acting. I love Mario's fierce character. and I love Taew's ladylike, gentle character. I think Aiko's strong, mean character is good too. she is a good actress! I love Taro as well. He is one of my favorites! Let us not forget about Nadech and Yaya. I liked them way better in this part than their own part. I love it every time they bicker. They are a cute couple too, but I like Takeshi and Seiko better.

MUSIC - The music is amazing. It is pretty catchy. I would say the music in Roy Fun Tawan Duerd is more catchy than in Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan. Roy Rak's songs are still good though!

REWATCH - I would not necessarily rewatch this because it can get confusing. It is not so easy of a story line. I think if you rewatch it, your mind will get kind of stuck at the story line even though you've already watched it. I think it is kind of boring and you should only rewatch your favorite scenes. This drama is also NOT DRAGGY AT ALL. I think it has a perfect speed!

OVERALL - 8.5!!!!! I think this is a great drama and YOU ALL should definitely watch this. Don't SKIP this part of the series to go to NY. I think this part is just as fun and important as Roy Fun. :) I love Takeshi and Seiko or Tawan and Praewdao ❤

10! 10! 10!

To the couple who made me believe that they are "real", I give you both a 10!!!

The way they acted (or not) got me watching from start to finish! The whole idea of this drama is quite unique to me! Not to mention that the cast and crew did everything for it to be light hearted even with all the fight scenes and seriously effed up criminal!

I just.. Ah! I'm at a loss of other things to say aside from it's just way perfect to me.
Thank you, Bong Bong and Min Min. You guys were my great source of happiness these past months. :)
