The story in itself had potential and could be a very successful drama, but oh lord how it could also go very very wrong. A drama focusing on the main plot itself could have gotten away with 10-12 episodes at most, but all the forced "romantic" scenes between the two main leads as well as silly (yet loveable) TVshop fillers forced the drama to an almost unbearable 20. It just really threw me off. The fillers got worse after about episode 8, and before that point I actually quite enjoyed the drama. It's just never a good thing when 3/5 of a drama are terrible.
The acting is pretty terrible for the most part. I don't want to mention any names (mostly because I can't remember her name), but the prosecutors ex-wife was terrible. Also talk about random character. Lee Jin Pyos character was rather cool, mostly because of his magnificent glaring. He really expressed his emotionless core well. Lee Yoon Sung ont he other hand, needs to work on his glaring skills. They were rather bland and not really convincing. And don't get me started on Kim Nana and Lee Yoon Sungs relationship. Just no.
Music was lovely most of the time. I just kind of wished they didn't have 4 versions of the 3 same songs playing over and over. Variation is good, people.
I don't think I'll ever rewatch this. It was a hassle at the end, and without good company I don't really think I would be able to stick it out until the end. I just.. no.
I'm giving it a 4 because while it wasn't good, it did entertain me for the first 8 or so episodes. Too bad it all went downhill from there.

Why is this considered a classic?
Lee Min Ho is flat and uninspiring yet again, and Park Min Young is dragged down by a bad script and bad character. The plot is somewhat interesting initially, but it quickly falls apart once Lee Min Ho starts meting out justice. The whole framework of the show is a joke, really, and a weak vehicle for the lacklustre romance between the leads. They have no chemistry, are constantly making annoying and illogical decisions and just get worse as the story goes on. Worst of all, it takes itself seriously! This show believes itself to be the most badass thing, and I can't even stand to watch it ironically. This drama gives me a headache. If you loved Healer and want something from a similar era, give it a go. But it is not good. Lee Min Ho, how did you get so famous?

The episodes based in Tailand are fantastic, it made me fall in love with Lee Min ho's acting and style all over again!
The action scenes and ideas were well choreographed and stunning to watch. I had edge-of-my-seat-jaw dropping moments quite a few times during this series.
Apart from a few disappointment (deaths) in the series, the drama is excellent to watch.

Even if the investigation and special effects lack a bit of professionalism, this drama is my favorite so far.. it is far from the boring, common, predictable k-drama.
I can't think of anyone giving a negative review for this drama... so watch it and you will not regret your 20 hours spent on it ;)

HERE IS YOUR DRAMA!
This has got to be one of my favourite dramas that I have seen. Started from EPISODE 1 it GRABBED your attention and got you hooked & emotional attached.
Yoo Sung (Lee Min Ho) and Nana (Park Min Young) are the cutest thing alive. They are AH-MAZING actors and actress. Ahh~ they really need to date in real life.
All the characters have their on lil charm that well make you love em'. But others well get on your nerves and make you want to jump into your computer screen and shoot them yourself.
There are many fighting scenes and MAN are they FRIGGIN AWESOME! Just. I can't explain it, you have to see it to know how I feel.
All I say is WATCH THE DRAMA. YOU WELL HAVE NO REGRET!

The acting was fantastic in my opinion. Lee Min Ho, Lee Joon Hyuk's acting chops were superb. Special mention goes out to Kim Sang Joong (Jin Pyo) and Hwang Sun Hee (Saehee). Sang Joong's portrayal of Jinpyo was so good, i hated him (and felt pity for him) so much! And i loved the character Saehee, although she was a supporting role. Chemistry between Min Ho and Min Young was amazing and you can't help falling in love with them ♥♥ (there's a reason why they're dating~~)
The cinematography was fabulous, all the shots, explosions, stunts were meticulously planned and it really got my heart racing a little bit faster. This drama was everything IRIS was not - it had amazing action directors and cinematography.
All in all, City Hunter is a drama worth watching. 10점 만점에 10점!

BUT THIS IS A DRAMA YOU MUST WATCH!!!
What's in this drama? Suspens, action, love, sometimes a bit of humour... In short, a great plot! All along, I kept wondering how Lee Yoon Sung would take revenge for his father's death.
Well, you might find it strange I didn't rate the story 10/10. Actually, there are two minor things I didn't like.
1°) I tought some love / sentimental scenes were way too long.
2°) As for Nana, I've got nothing against the actress but the character sometimes seemed too frail to be a Blue House bodyguard. I know City Hunter is supposed to be the best of the best but the gap between them was just too big.

I already got hooked up after the first episode, and I never got dissapointed of a single one, which I think is a huge achievement for 20 episodes.
I laughed, cried or just got hyper, even only because of the music they chose. And the best thing is: the end isn't predictable.
So in all I would say you just can't go wrong with watching this drama :)

City Hunter is very well rounded with a plot that lacks nothing. It shows that revenge can be something that binds us as well as sets us free.
OH MY goodness the acting was superb. I hated the father and the prosecutor until the last possible second and then all that hate disappeared and I found myself crying because I found my love for them so late. Lee Min Ho does not disappoint (oh the shirt-less scenes!!!!!!! Don't even get me started on the kissing). He was able to embody all fassets of Lee Yoon Sung from the innocent teenager, to the fierce adult seeking revenge, to a man falling in love, and a confused son seeking the love of his father. And Park Min Young was an amazing Kim Na Na. Not only was she able to embody a woman whose personality doesn't allow her to understand those she thinks to be wrong but she was able to throw that aside to protect Yoon Sung.
I admit I was extemely skeptical at first. I'm not a huge fan of action dramas and I thought that part of the drama would over power the romance but it only added to it. It was the perfect blend.
A MUST MUST MUST MUST see!!!!!!!!
